Like/review/verify/don't buy check in for 2016- 2024

Laura- That's a bit scary to be in the path of the storms. Hopefully they are well prepared.

I did RWH Lower Circuit this morning. I realized halfway through I only had 30# on my bar - but I didn't want to stop and change.

What kind of heavy bags do you all have? Do they hang or stand on the ground. I've thought they look fun but haven't looked into how to set one up.

Hi everyone,

I just finished the 3.5 STS rotation. YEAH!! Next week I will start my recovery week, than do the STS pyramid down rotation.

Diane Sue - the spa was amazing. It was our 2nd time using the spa. We also had lunch at the hotel restaurant. Amazing food! Good job with your workouts, girl.

Laura - hope you got a good night sleep. I finally got one last night. Not getting much sleep with Brawler these day's. Every night at 1 a.m. he wakes me up, wants some water...or needs help to get to the other end of his bed.

Doreen - I don't have a heavy bag. I am air boxing, lol.

I will be back tomorrow. Have a great Friday evening.

Laura, I just heard that the whole state of Florida may experience high winds. I am sure that is not helping you get rest. No, you are right to just rest and since you are going tomorrow to take care of your mother.

Doreen, I have a heavy bag and speed bag set up on a big freestanding stand. It takes up quite a bit of room in the corner of my workout room. IT came with a 50# bag and later I purchased a 100# as the extra weight helped with the swing when kicking and punching it.

Belinda, way to go on finishing this STS rotation. I hadn't thought about brawler needing help, but I guess you would need to help him out even if it is in the middle of the night. That is even better having an excellent lunch with the spa :) It sounds so nice.

Diane Sue - Brawler needs help 24/7 :( He can't walk anymore every time he needs/or wants to move he lets me know. Poor thing!

This morning I wanted a "just for fun" workout. So I did a Gymbox kickbox/bosu cardio class. Just some fun easy kickbox punching combos then some cardio on the bosu followed by some bosu core work. Just what I was looking for - nothing too intense - just an hour of movement. I really struggle with some of the bosu - my balance is horrible so I kept falling off!

Laura - hopefully you got some rest last night, you too Belinda. And good job on finishing STS.

Hi everyone,

Today I did Rapid Fire 3 w/Susan Chung premix 1# Rock Steady = 40 min.

Doreen - thank you :) I did had a good night sleep last night. Glad you found the perfect workout today. Sounds like fun.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Today was a rest day of sorts. I will have to do Ripped with Hiit Plyo Hiit 2 tomorrow. We rode almost 200 miles doing this poker run. Longer than any that we have done before. That was a lot and it triggered the allergies by the latter part of the ride. All the allergens are up there right now and I was feeling pretty good that I was not doing the usual coughing, sneezing, thing. My eyes have been irritated. Hopefully it lets up. I am still using the bee pollen. I barely got ready to head out this morning.

Belinda, poor Brawler. I am sure it is hard for him too. There are a lot of pre-mixes on those Rapid Fire workouts.

Doreen, I used to do the Bosu workout on Double Cardio CIA a lot. I got pretty good at it. Then I got the Bosu Explode workouts and got a lot in with those. A few months ago I pulled it out and did the Bosu Explode workout with Mindy Mylrea and it is a tough workout to begin with. It took awhile to get my balance back on it. My feet and ankles felt the discomfort of trying to stay balanced. I did notice that her background people were not as peppy and easily handling it as she does. I think it takes using it a lot. I like doing balance work though. I think it is a good way to cross train. That sounds like it would have been a fun workout.

My workout is finished RWH Plyo Hiit 2, 28 minutes, 248 calories, heart rate average 137, max 166, 1,869 steps. I need to work on what workouts I plan for next week. I think a similar pattern to what I just did this last month b, but different workouts.

Last night was the first time I slept in 5 days. Actually got 8 hours. I did PRS #2 adding in the combos from PRS#1 (and added in the finishers). It amazed me how easy it was for me to do. Having a full nights sleep really makes a huge difference in the cardio and muscle endurance. I even threw in some jumps. I'm glad I got DH for Mom day. I was so tired from not sleeping. I'm glad he was able to drive me.

This week both DH and I have more rounds of doctors, so I'll be moving my workouts to late afternoons most days. We're keeping updated with family in FL on Irma. Have checked in again with the memory care unit that they will be fully staffed and etc. for later today/tonight.

Great jobs on workouts everyone.

Today's workout was Ice Boot Camp Circuit no abs mix, 35 minutes, heart rate average 120, max 147, 220 calories, 2,0048 steps. I then did Fit Tower Boot Camp skipping the warm up, 48 minutes, heart rate 108 average, 142 max, 218 calories, This was 83 minutes and 438 calories. I am going to try doing a similar workout plan to what this last month was so today would have started with a boot camp workout. Tomorrow will be a Total Body workout. I have not made up my mind yet what I want for Total Body yet. I think I will use Pyramid upper in place of what would have been Total Body Giant sets and Xtrain Cardio legs in place of RWH circuit legs. I am getting it mapped out. Then Burn sets the next week for the weight work upper. I will post the rotation I come up with when I get it down.

Belinda, I almost used the Boot Camp Bonus for part of my workout this morning, then changed my mind because I really wanted to do Fit Tower Boot Camp. I just don't get many calories out of the Fit Tower workouts. I think I should have used the Intensity short workout. I am pretty sure that I have not done that premix.

Laura, I will be praying that everyone is safe. I am sure this is quite a worry for you. That was a nice long workout today. I always find I do better when I have enough sleep. I wish I could sleep 8 hours, but that rarely happens. It is miserable to be so tired.

Hi everyone,

This week is my recovery week. I did Turbo Fire 60 Class + 12 min stretch.

Diane Sue - the Tit Tower Boot Camp didn't get my HR up either. I think they good workouts when you travel and can't take a lot of equipments with you. I was thinking pulling out one of the Fit Tower dvd's today, but Turbo Fire won :) Good job on your workouts this morning.

Laura - I will be praying for your family in FL. My husbands family lives in FL too. His mom is in hospice in Tampa.

Have a great Monday everyone.

I am back. I also did Mobility RX workout #2 -Mark Lauren. That was a nice stretch! I like that he does them in 5 reps each/3 rounds. Each round he changed the exercise a little up.

Today I did Body Max 2. Had another great night's sleep. Not sure if it is the sleep, having 3 rest days in a row, or a combo or something else, but I've been able to really work yesterday and today's workouts. I have not had this much cardio and muscle endurance in a long long time.

We have checked in with everyone in FL and everything is fine in the area they are. They have power, thank goodness. Thank you all for your prayers.

Belinda, I hope your husbands family in FL came through fine as well. By the way, I laughed when I saw your new name for the tower.

Diane Sue, I agree, it is miserable to be so tired all the time. When I saw the 'sleep specialist' (what a joke) she tried to tell me I don't sleep because I'm depressed (she had never met me before in my life). She just wanted to put me on anti-depressants. I would not take them. I told her I'm not a depressed person at all. I'm tired. Because I don't sleep. Even when I'm tired, I'm not depressed. What a shock it was to me to sleep all night long 2 nights in a row.

Great workouts everyone. Talk to you later. Have a great day.

Laura - we also checked in with everyone in FL, they all ok. I can't believe the sleep specialist wanted to put you on anti-depressants:( That is something! I am glad I made you laugh! What do you mean...I laughed when I saw your new name for the tower?

Belinda,

I'm glad everyone is safe in FL.

Diane Sue - the Tit Tower Boot Camp didn't get my HR up either.
Oops! It made me laugh. Sorry, crude humor sometimes, but made me laugh.

Yes, I fired that doctor. Never saw her again. She came into the office and held up the results from my sleep study and said I needed to be on anti-depressants. Never even spoke to me yet. I told her I didn't. She said '9 out of 10 doctors would look at this graph and say the same thing'. I actually told her I needed to find the 10th doctor. She would not listen to one word that I said. She wanted to start me on 1/4 dose and have me ramp up to 4 times that by the next time I saw her. I asked her about side effects or if the drugs did not help with the sleep. She actually told me, and I am not kidding, that she would only prescribe the medication, but would not change anything, I would need to see a psychiatrist. So she was telling me to go on this drug, but if I had a bad effect, don't call her, call someone else. How irresponsible was that! And of course, anti-depressants are one of those drugs that you have to slowly taper off of. You can't just quit cold turkey. The whole episode left me angry. Of course, I did not take the drugs. I'm not depressed at all. I'm just tired, because I don't sleep well. I know depressed people, I certainly know the symptoms of depression, it is not me.

Have a good one.

Belinda, I used to love Turbo Fire. I should throw a couple of those again soon. I think the Fit Tower workouts are good, but I like to feel like I really worked. I really wasn't wanting heavy strength work though since I have upper and lower to do this week.

Laura, that was not a good doctor. I am not a fan of meds like that. Most meds are a temporary fix or throw something else out of sync. I think depression can be handled without meds and I also think meds are pushed because it is easier than really trying to help get to the bottom of the depression. I don't sleep well and I know it is not depression. Like you, I just get tired. I also do not have much faith in psychiatrists. I have not seen anyone that has been helped by one so they can go back to a normal life. Maybe there are some that actually get help. This is just my thoughts. I got 7 hours exactly for sleep last night which was good for me.
LOL on Belinda's typo. :)

I would agree on the meds. I saw this documentary once that was enlightening in that way back in the early days of "doctoring" Andrew Carnigie wanted people to come to his med schools because his meds schools learned how to prescribe the drugs that his pharmaceuticals made. And he threw a whole bunch of money at his schools and started giving fancy degrees, etc so that it basicly pushed the whole other side of medicine ( nutrition based, wholeist healing, etc) out of business and that's what we are left with today. Maybe we're starting to swing back and realize that there are other ways to help the body heal and work properly - I dunno.

Anyway- today was cardio option so I picked Kickboxing. I did a Gymbox Class. It was a good class that kept moving through several combos with several cardio bursts (nothing Hiit level). Average HR 142 for 55 minutes.

Hey ladies,

I walked 3 miles this morning and did Dance HiiT by Jazzercise premix #3 Dance Hiit Pure Strength = 19 min. I don't know why I took me that long to finish that dvd? They are pure fun and the music is awesome :) I really need to make a note to rotate this one into my rotation.

I am thinking doing a stretch later?

Laura - no problem! I am a little slow these day's, lol! These workouts don't get my HR up :( Good for you for not going back to that doctor. I hate taking meds! Glad your family is ok too.

Diane Sue - I love TF! I will rotate them into my rotation. I got lots of steps with that one yesterday. My friend bought the Fit tower plus dvd's. She didn't like them, gave them too me a few weeks ago:) I reviewed them yesterday, they look like more beginner to me? Haven't tried them yet, so I really can't say.

Doreen - good job as always.

I will be back later.
