Hardcore Fitness Maniacs for April 2024

Good morning,

We are home. It was nice visiting family also very tiring. Next time we have to stay longer. Drive home was a disaster. DH tried to get of the highway so I could take a walk, I did get in a nice walk. Our GPS took us 45 min out of our way to get us back on the highway. That was nerve racking. We didn‘t get in until late last night. I did follow Sydney C workouts to the T. We did a lot of sitting visiting family, it was so cold in Ohio. I didn‘t expected winter weather. Too cold for walks with Sadie.

Diane - I never been in an tornado before. Dh cousin were like you have to came and stay with us. We ended up staying with them all day long. Luckily there were no tornados. It rained very hard and we had thunderstorm. Thank goodness. Nice job on STS 2 Mish Mosh.

Debbie - nice job with your workout.

Jolie - me too. No way we would stay in those storms in an RV. I don‘t like earthquakes either, lol. Glad you like Cathe‘s STS 2. WTG!

I will be back later today.

This morning I did RAW Box & Pump 4. I really like this one, it is fun. I had to skip the last two weight exercises and I did the boxing segment for both sides as I ran out of time. Great workout!

I had to stop early to stretch out my lower back, specifically, the left side right near my hop bone. Wow is that tight and painful right now. I've been stretching it for days and it's not getting much better. I've rolled it out as well and although it feels better for a while, it starts to get really tight again by the next day. Hope it goes away soon.

Belinda - You were in Ohio when those horrible storms went by - what county or city were you in? Luckily they were all south of us but I feel so bad for the people who lost their homes. We've had 35 tornadoes to date this spring already, that is crazy. Usually it's not bad at all here. Glad you weren't more south or you have witnessed it! And yes, it has been really cold here, it was 28 degrees when I woke up this morning. Glad you got home safely!

Have a great day everyone!! I am very busy at work so I have to get going. I'll do more personals tomorrow.

Yesterday was my family dinner and birthday's day. My granddaughter was feeling much better and bought the new baby over. He got a lot of holding and cuddling :D

Jolie, great job on STS 2 Upper Body 1 and the treadmill walk. That is a problem with just getting the workouts on Demand. I know others that have used the workout manager to put together workouts a different way. I am not very patient about doing things like that.

Belinda, sorry GPS took you that far out of the way. We have had that happen a few times. Great job keeping up your workouts while gone. I have been around a few tornados. Most of the time I do not worry much unless I am out on the road somewhere. Some have went right over us. Once I was out in the car trying to pick up grandchildren from school when Target roof was taken off and some other businesses. Cars were rerouted the opposite direction hail hit and I was frantic about them. After that I have always watched weather before I have to go out for something as I do not want that to happen again. In my house I am fine.

Roselyn, nice work on STS2 leg day.

Debbie, great job on Box and Pump 4 today.

Day 16 Full Body is done. I am tired from the lack of sleep and traveling.

Roselyn - thank you. I am glad I am home. Great job on your leg workout

Debbie - yes, we arrived on Wednesday night. We were greeted with those storms. Ohio was bitter cold. We took Sadie once for a long walk that was Thursday morning, then we got hit by storms. You guys get a lot of tornadoes. Sorry you guys have so many. It feels good to be back and have warmer weather. I hope the temperatures will get better for you soon. I will go back to Ohio in the summer, lol.

Diane - aww…glad you got to cuttle and see the baby. Great job on your LB workout. That is horrible to experience some thing like this in a tornado. That is scary. I hope everyone was ok at Target. We don‘t get tornadoes. We had a small earthquake which rocked our RV 14 years ago. The dogs got scared.

Good night

This morning I did RAW Strength 1 - Cardio Acceleration and added a treadmill walk as well. I forgot to start my Garmin until I was about a quarter of the way into the workout. I added 100 calories to the calorie burn.

12 reps each exercise for lifting/30 seconds for cardio bursts

One Arm Row: 30#
Cardio: Squat/Knee
Repeat

Squats: 15's
Cardio: Jogging
Repeat

Dumbbell Press: 20's
Cardio: Pump Ups
Repeat

Supination Curls: 15's
Cardio: Alternating Insoles
Repeat

Deadlifts: 15's
Cardio: Jacks
Repeat

Lateral Raise: 12's
Cardio: Skaters
Repeat

Skull Crushers: 12's
Cardio: (Abs) Knee-ins on step (I did Russian Twist w/8# med ball)
Repeat

Walked on the treadmill for .76 miles. Total workout time was 50 minutes, burned 391 calories, did 2998 steps and HR was 119/150.

Belinda - Great job keeping up with your workouts while you were traveling. We once had a tornado that landed only 2 miles from our house. It was scary!! We saw all the damage and luckily it was all a commercial area, but they lost their roofs and sheds. Crazy how it can be so close but only destroy what's in it's path. Our summers are usually pretty nice but it can get hot and humid. I can't wait!! LOL!

Diane - Nice job with the lower body work, how is your knee doing? Is it better now? The tricep work looked brutal!! I still want to get the STS workouts, just can't bring myself to buy them.

Hope you all have a great day!

Yesterday was a rest day for me, I had my monthly Chiro appointment first thing in the morning, so I opted just to skip my workout instead of rushing through it. Today, I had an excellent heavy weight workout, all upper body. I did Cathe's STS 2.0 Upper Body #2 and loved it. It is heavy weights, slow pace with a 10 to 12 rep range depending on the weights that i chose to use. Workout was 1 hour, and I burned 408 calories. My biceps are so pumped right now it is hard to move my arms :) I am loving this series so I may just purchase the set so I no longer need On Demand, and I can get the premixes that are offered on the dvds.

Debbie, great job on the workout today. I am sorry to hear that your hip muscles are tight, I am sure you will be fine soon with a little rest. This happens to me when I walk on an incline on my TM. I bet you are excited to be off for the summer!

Belinda, glad to hear that you made it home safe. Nice job on the workout even though you were tired. I bet that was a long drive!

Diane Sue, nice job on the leg workout! I am loving these STS workouts so far, not sure about the other ones in the series, I have to preview them tonight.

I hope you all have a great day.

Hi,

Today I did Prime day 17 Upper body (chest, shoulder and triceps).

Did anyone reordered Cathe‘s new workouts?

Jolie - glad you enjoy STS2. I like those workouts. Cathe has the set on her Daily deals with the coupon you should safe a few bucks. Great job. Yes, it was a lot of driving in such a short time. My knees are swollen.

Debbie - that is scary and the tornado was very close to your house. Crazy. Ohio is similar to Germany. I am used to the humidity. We defiantly will be back in the summer. It was a little to cold for my comport, lol. Jokes aside, I was more worried about Sadie getting sick. She is so little. Great job on your weight workout today.

Diane - I hope you have a great workout and day today.

Have a great day everyone.

Today I did Raw Kickboxing #1 along with a short bit of CDorner Tabata kickboxing (too much of jumping jacks). 42 minutes, heart rate 117/148, 2,450 steps, 181 calories. I think it could have been more calories because my Garmin was showing 100-110 on the heart rate till I stopped and took off my gloves. They were pushing my Garmin up my arm which made it tight. Right after I took the gloves off it jumped to 132. I then did STS 2 No Equipment Abs, 11 minutes, 30 calories and STS 2 Mat Yoga 23 minutes, 32 calories. Total time was 76 minutes, 233 calories.
There will probably not be a workout tomorrow as I have a mammogram appointment in the morning and errands while out.

Belinda, nice work on Day 16 Full Body workout and day 17 Upper Body workout. I don't remember hearing anything about people hurt. This was when they had just put in a brand new Target Super Center. It may not have opened yet. There was a Celebration Station across the street that had games and did birthday parties that was torn up. They moved to another facility that was once a Walmart and made a bigger facility. This was at the end of the school day in the afternoon. Not a good experience at all. We get tremors here occasionally. We were used to that as in California it was nothing to feel the floor moving when I got down on the floor with the children.
I really want to preorder those workouts. I told my husband the other day that I want them. I know I will be getting them.

Debbie, great job on Raw Strength Cardio Acceleration. My knee is doing well again. I did make the workout a bit shorter to be sure I could do it. The triceps was kind of brutal on some of the moves even though it was fairly short. I woke up several times realizing my arms hurt and particularly the non surgery one. I think a combination of the triceps and the 40# dumbbell I held at chest like Cathe and crew did on those Goblet Squats, the first set was very uncomfortable and I adjusted some the second. Think I should have just held the dumbbell down like in a plie or used the barbell option. I am glad it feels okay this afternoon. I even hurt around my middle yesterday evening. I do not want to be sore when I go for the mammogram.

Jolie, nice work on STS 2 Upper Body. The premixes would be good for you since you like upper body a lot. The total body workouts do have upper only or lower only premixes. Have fun checking them all out. I have found the the mish moshes and 2 body part compilations have some workouts I like with favorite moves. It is handy to be able to check out what moves on the premixes on the Workout Manager here. I do not think any of the STS 2 workouts are low weight at all. No high reps either. They are meant to build.

Roxie, nice work on Bodi Sure Thing Endurance Strength WK1 D1.

I got a call from my parents this morning to let me know that my dad has Prostate and Bone Cancer. They believe that it is very advanced, the doctor told him he does not have a lot of time left. He has no symptoms except low energy, but who doesn't, he is turning 91 years old next month. I am heart broken. He is my hero and what will I do without him? My mom is having some issues too and has several doctors' appointments this week as well. If you would not mind, please pray for my family. My dad has an oncology appointment soon so I will know more when he sees a specialist. I will continue to work out because it will save me from all of the stress that I am carrying around right now but if I do not check in I will be back after whatever I may be doing at the time. I will have to go and take care of some things with them and who knows what the future holds for my family. Like my dad just said to me, "it's in God's hands now." I hope that I will have a lot more time with him in the future.

Good morning,

Day 18 LB is done. I will get a nice walk in later.

Diane - great job on your Tabata. Yikes, on the jumping jacks. I modify those. Great job on your abs and yoga. I am glad no one was hurt during the tornado. Like I said, we don‘t get those here in WV. In Germany we never had tornados. I hope I never have to experience one either.

Jolie - your dad and mom are in my prayers! I am so sorry you going through this.

Roxie - great job on your workout yesterday. How do you like Bodi? I am sure those bikinis look fabulous on your.

I will be back later.

Good Morning,

Sure Thing Cardio Conditioning WK1 D2 not my favorite. Plan to go for a walk later.

Jolie-I am so sorry to hear that my dad had that it caused him a lot of pain it was a blessings when he passed but he was much younger than your father. I hope your mom will be ok. Stay strong.

Belinda-I like this particular workout series and can’t wait until Shaun T’s Dig Deeper workouts are available it is heavy lifting the kind of training he used to when a competition

This morning I did RAW Kickbox NRG and had a great workout. I love that workout. I used my 1.5# Egg weights.

Workout was 30 minutes, burned 229 calories, did 3606 steps and HR was 122/151.

I also did RAW Roll it Out, this was 18 minutes. It was just ok, some of the moves she does I think are dangerous. I just rolled out knots I had in my hip and my IT band. It helped a lot.

Jolie - First, I am so sorry to hear about your dad. That is something no one wants to hear. I will definitely keep you and your family in my prayers. I'm so sorry to hear this! Hugs to you, Jolie. You are making me want STS again, I just haven't ordered it yet. I still have money for my birthday from my mom, maybe I'll break down and order the series. Or at least order the weight workouts. I don't care for Cathe's cardio anymore, it is not joint friendly. Great job with your workout.

Belinda - Is that Daily Deals coupon still available for STS?? I might use it. I really want the weight workouts, not sure about the cardio ones. Did Sadie enjoy the trip? I hope she didn't get sick.

Roxie - Nice job in your workout. I have a really cool bikini I bought when we bought our boat. I haven't worn it yet. I just cannot make myself put on a two piece bathing suit. Not sure why, I think I would look ok in it, I just feel more and more modest as I grow older. LOL!

Diane - Great job with your workouts yesterday. Has your Garmin app changed? Mine is all different this morning. I sort of like it, sort of don't. I hate when they make big changes like that. Hope it doesn't affect the calorie burn readings. Sometimes when they update stuff, other things stop working. Yikes!! I'm glad you knee is good, that is great news!! I couldn't hold a 40# dumbbell in front of my chest, that is crazy. I would just hold it down like normal weighted plies. There is a workout that Kelly does where she does something similar and I just don't do it. My shoulders and traps start to really hurt and it's not worth it to me.

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for all of the prayers for my dad, he appreciates it. Today I only took the pup for a 3 mile walk, 1 hour and burned 459 calories. I got a poor night's sleep and I am dragging today. Also, I am sore for yesterday's workout!

Debbie, I am going to purchase the weight workouts but not the leg workouts because those all seem to be the same types of exercises for all of her dvds. I can use the original STS for legs if I want to. I really like the two upper body workouts I have done thus far, very slow and controlled moves. I think you will like them. Her dvds are on Amazon too!

Make it a great day.

No workout. I went for my mammogram then hit the UPS store and made a stop at Sprouts while I was in the area for some fresh fruit, veggies, and alkaline water.

Jolie, I am so sorry, I will keep your parents in my prayers. Getting sleep is tough when we are distressed over our family members. Cathe, does add a few different things to the lower body workouts. Like the step over lunges which is kind of a balance move as you are lifting a foot up like stepping over something. Good move really since you never know when you will step over something while carrying something heavy. You are right though; most lower body strength workouts are pretty much the same.

Belinda, good job on Day 18 Lower Body today. Normally I modify the jacks, but there were so many built into the tabata rnd 1 along with other moves and it was hard to get it to flow at low impact. Not worth the effort.

Debbie, nice work today on Raw Kickbox NRG. I do love that workout too. Kickboxing 1 that I did yesterday, I do not care for all that much. Too many errors and terrible music. I was sorry that I chose it. I guess I am just picky lately. I tried that foam roller workout before and thought maybe it was just me thinking it was bad for my neck and upper back, tried again and never go there again. How she does that without hurting herself is beyond me. She does much better on the ones she has attached to other stretch workouts. As far as the way I did that 40# move yesterday, I think I lost my mind. After I started I wondered how I even got the dumbbell up there. Even this morning my neck, traps and shoulders are sore. Hopefully I am ready for weights tomorrow. Usually I do hold the weight lower and I can usually go pretty heavy that way. STS 2.0 does not have cardio workouts in the set. When I pre-ordered I had thought about just ordering some of the workouts, but realized it cost way more that way. I do like the abs workouts dvd, particularly the one that uses weight plates.

Roxie, nice work on Day 2 Sure Thing Cardio Conditioning.

Debbie, I was a little upset with the Garmin App change this morning. I usually check some things first thing and couldn't find them. I think I got it figured out now though. I was happy the way it was.

Debbi-the way I look at it is I am at the lake no one knows me and there are other women wearing one so as long as I feel good who cares. Wear it with pride.
