STS NEW YEARS CHALLENGERS...WEEK OF JUNE 12th!

Good Morning Ladies.

Sorry I was MIA y'day. I was up late partying Friday night so I ended up sleeping waaaay later then I EVER do anymore! I didn't get my lazy arse outta bed until 9:30 yesterday!!!!:eek::eek: It ruined my whole damn day! Not enough time to get everything done! UGH.

M3 D25-DONE + MMA Kickbox minus combo 3(I am not coordinated enough for that one yet! LOL).

Today will me SRL D36 + cardio if SRL doesn't completely drain me. Time will tell!

Katie:: OUCH-hows your poor wrist? I was into yoga once. P90X got me into it and I did it regularly for quite some time. Not sure what prompted me to stop but now I feel like I have no time to fit it in even though I think I'd like to get back to it. I barely find time to do the STS extended stretch. I food shop every weekend but there is no assigned day. It depends on my schedule and if I need to shop for a new recipe depending on when I want to make it. BM2 cardio kicks me in the tushy too! IDK what it is about that w/o but it seems to have a similar affect on many! Let me know what you think if you decide to try a Body Rock work out!

Kiki:: My DH is beyond wanting to look at the chics in the work outs on tv. What he wants is for me to NOT lock myself up in the room all by myself when I work out so he can watch me work out. Um-yeah-thanks but no thanks dude!  LOL As for updating the check in name, I say let's go for it! Always fun to try and come up with a snappy new name! lol

Tracy:: Your homemade salsa recipe sounds yummy but I gotta ask. Is there a strong cilantro flavor to it because I can only handle a very slight bit of that stuff. Not a fan for some reason.

Kris:: Highlights and a haircut. Sounds like me every 2 months! LOL And now I've added mani/pedi to the mix every few weeks too. Aaaaah the joys of pampering yourself!:)

Kristin:: So you survived the T ball coaching! YAY!:D Will you do it again next year or have you had enough? LOL Speaking of icecream I had triple peanut butter icecream with chocolate sprinkles for dessert on friday with the girls. YUMMO!!!!! Happy Birthday to your little guy! Enjoy the party!!!!:)

Autumn:: So did you survive your final night in Tutu hell? LOL Happy to hear that you and the scale are getting along again. I love when that happens. The scale is my BEST friend since going on Weight Watchers! Soooo happy I took the plunge and gave it a shot! :D

Guess that's all for now...need more coffee before I hit the weight room!;)

Wendy: lol @ your DH wanting you "unlocked" to watch you workout, that's exactly what mine wants! I said that my *DS* (you know, the teen bag of hormones, lol) is tryin to peek @ the hot chicks :p ROFL, not his dad! :p

D37 SRL + CTX Power Circuits cardio excluding kickboxing circuit + abs is done! Replaced lower body weights during step circuits with jax, jump rope and hi knee/lo butt kicks. Also did the abs! :D

Off to the foodstore with me for the 2nd time this weekend!

BBL!

Good afternoon ladies!

This AM I did Low Max. I'd planned on doing a Core Max, and Stretch Max segment, too, but DH had breakfast all cooked and waiting on me ;), by the time I finished LM, so I had to call it quits there. Maybe I'll be able to get it in later today, who knows??...

Kris: Good job w/Disc 4! Gotta love those pushups! I actually do have a secret love for them, lol  , mostly love how they help me whip my teen (and 24yo!) son's bootay in our random pushup contests ;) Helps keep him (them) in line :p

Tracy: Your girls sound like my son, who comes down and asks a random question at the craziest time (like mid air-jack  ) DS: Hey mom, does our PC have a celeron processor? ME: (as joints slam into the ground from being caught off guard...) GASP....Are you...GASP... seriously asking me that...NOW  ?! DS: Oh, so I guess you're kinda busy right now? ME: ummmm.....YEA! Do you mind waiting next time til my feet are on the ground, and I don't have sweat dripping in my eyes, blinding me?

Katie: Yep, I'm Taquila :D It's kinda cool now that I'm older...I hated it when I was younger, of course, lol. Especially, in my late teens, early twenties, when I worked @ a restaurant (Red Lobster, actually  ). Every time I'd go to serve a table I'd get joke when I'd say, "Hi, I'm Taquila I'll be taking care of you today." And then they'd have a new wise-crack of some sort every time I came back to the table to check on them. After the eight thousandth time (Is your dad's name Jack...Daniels?! {roar of laughter from everyone at the table, BUT me} or some spinoff of that - you know...Jim Beam..mom named Margarita...sister named Brandy... ) I marched right into the back room and grabbed the label maker and printed off a label that said "Tiffany" and slapped it on over my old one. :p Then I kindly informed all of my co-workers of my new name, and thankfully they all obliged...even the managers, lol. I happily lived out the rest of my Red Lobster days in a much more peaceful existence as "Tiffany." To this day when I'm in AZ and pop into the local restaurant to say hi (or talk to any of my old pals from there, they'll turn and smile exclaiming "Tiff!" (as they ended up nicknaming me, rofl) and give me big ' ol hug

Kristin: Glad t-ball mania is over! LOL Soooo...did you end up loving it more than you thought ya would?

Autumn: Oh no...you..didn't!!! You just wait, lady! :D :) Ya know I love the pic! Oohhh. Love the name ideas, rofl! STSers gone wild  hilarious! So, when we goin shopping for these new workout rags, eh? You have even less time than me. When do you leave again, 2 wks from monday?

Well, ladies, I need to finish doing my menu plan for the week, and get my hind parts off to do some grocery shopping....

Enjoy the rest of your weekend :D

Hi there everyone! I did CCC this a.m. (was planning to do Low Max, but changed my mind). Had fun last evening at the neighbor's party - they had a guy who used to open for Jimmy Buffett playing at the party - guess he's a friend of a friend - pretty cool, great music and a good time. I'm excited for my workout tomorrow - will be disc 5, and I'll use my tower:)

Kiki - I'll have to keep that in mind on the pushups - never know when I might have a chance to compete in a push up contest with a nephew:) I love your name! So pretty. Too funny about getting your co-workers to call you Tiffany, I imagine it would get old with the jokes especially in a restaurant. Made me laugh too about your DS "needing" something while you're working out to get to take a peek at the girls on the video - lol.

Wendy - great job on your workouts! I'll have to find out more about the SRL discs from you sometime, this first time through STS, I'll do the regular I think, but down the road will try the SRL option. So glad ww is working so well for you - I love the program, I love that it doesn't "forbid" any foods - I don't do well with that kind of restriction. I've lost 14 lb with the program - have a goal of 10 to 15 more, though I like the way I'm toning up, it might not be necessary to go down as far as I thought I wanted to - yay:)

Katie - oh, so sorry about your wrist, hope it's better today. And lol on the workout copycat :) And ditto on the guys in the tight jeans - done right, it's a good thing:)

Tracy - lol on your DD interupting you for the waffle iron. Too funny! Hope the rodeo was fun - my hubby actually used to rodeo in college! (My family loves to remind me that when we went to Montana once to visit an aunt and uncle, they brought us to some big rodeo and I cried most of the time because I thought they were hurting those poor little cows when they were roping them... and then I marry a rodeo guy... )

Kristin - I bet the birthday party was fun:) That's such an adorable age:)

Autumn - love the picture! Stetch Max was good - I did the one with the band - felt good for sure. I was glad to see another RN too:) Great job becoming a NP - that's really impressive - takes a lot of hard work! I have worked in L&D, couplet care, also behavioral health, I actually now work at home and supervise about 30 nurses nationwide who primarily work on the telephone :) I love nursing - gives you so much flexibility - there's something for everyone I always say.

Hope you all have a great day!

Hi folks! My name is Jeni and I am starting the 6 month rotation tomorrow. I posted about it and heard about this thread through that. I am excited to check in with you, and to get to know all of you!

Welcome Jeni:) I just recently started STS and joined this group too - they are a motivating, fun bunch:) I look forward to getting to know you!

Hey Jeni! We're glad to have you! I recently finished my 2nd STS rotation, & the girls here have been kind enough to allow me to stick around until I start again. So you'll see me doing some things that aren't STS, bit have no fear, I'm still a challenger @ heart :D. I loved the results the first 2 times around, & will be ready for round three sometime after the RT. As the girls here know, I stink @ step and am dedicating a MAJOR portion of my time now to learning it before Disney  ! :p

I really do give the ladies here a LOT of credit for helpin keep me on my toes. There's just something to be said about the accountability factor ;). I hope we'll be able to do the same for you. Best of luck on your new journey!

Happy Monday everyone! Yesterday was my DS's 3rd birthday party. We had it at a place called Pump It Up, which is an indoor inflatable party place. The kids had a blast. At the end of the day he said to me, "That was agreat day!" and before bedtime he said, "Thank you for my birthday party." How sweet is he?

I was also surprised with a little birthday present myself (my birthday is this week). My friend gave me IMAX 3! I love IMAX 2 and after eating all kinds of bad but yummy food yesterday I gave it a try. I loved it! The music was awesome, the combos and blasts were fun (I did mess up on a few moves, well, more than a few ). I cannot wait to do it again. I also did pilates-based abs.

Tonight's workout will be M1, D4, Chest, Shoulders and Biceps.

Welcome Jeni! I finished STS the 3 month rotation in April. I am back again doing it for the second time. I am only doing meso 1 and 2 because that wil bring me right up to the NJ RT. Then in Sept/Oct I am going to go for the six month rotation and see how that goes.

itsuptome- I was planning on doing CCC until I got the IMAX 3. WTG on your workout. That one is tough one for me. I have to really be in the mood to do it.

Kiki- I really did love tee ball. The best part is we made some friends outta the deal, which is great. We really do not have a lot of friends with kids, which is hard. Now I know people who send their kids to my son's school and I feel like I have some "connections" if that makes sense. My DH is going to be the manager for next season (I really had no clue what to do and he helped me all this season). I am stepping down and will be team mom, lol.

Wendy- lol at sleeping in for partying too much. Your ice cream sounds way better than mine, plain old ice cream cake, lol. :p Tee ball was fun, and lmade some new friends, which is great. I still had no clue what I was doing though, so DH is taking over as manager for the summer season and I will be team mom, lol.

Okay, I will bbl to catch up on more personals! Have a great day!

Kristin

Body Rock 20 min interval cardio followed by her 500 mountain climber challenge....DONE! :D:eek::D

BBIAB to catch up on personals, etc!

Good Morning!

I did end up throwing in a Core Max Segment to wrap up yesterday's w/o's. No time for Stretch Max, though :( . I had to chose between abs and stretching, and Wendy..I mean abs, won :p . Today's agenda is High Reps, and maybe one of the mini HIIT's from Intensity (I'm thinking Hi  ) I prefer doing like 15 minutes of HIIT training on weight lifting days, vs. a longer steady state session. But I would typically do them on the elliptical. These little HIIT options on that dvd give me some alternate options. That and sometimes doing maybe 1/2 of one of the HIIT segments (or all like I did on Fri  , just depends on how long the weight session is.. ) I'm happy to have options now...

Wendy
: Another BR w/o? Nice ;) You'll be looking like Zuzanna in no time  ...ummm 500 MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS? Insane! Good job!

Kristin: Awww it sounds like ya'll had so much fun, and that was SO sweet your little boy saying thank you  (you probably wanna go ahead and tuck that memory away now ;) , so that you have something to remember when he's taken over by puberty :p LOL) That's good of your DH to take things over for you next year (I prefer team mom over being coach any day, although sometimes it's just as much work, lol - do you do a "snack" schedule and all that? ) Looks like we've all been cranking out the IMAX 3 around here. I just took mine outta the plastic (it had been in there for quite some time, lol  ) last week. yeah....that was quite the experience for a beginner (is there a level that actually precedes beginner? cuz that would be me  )

Happy Monday, All! BBL w/updates on if the w/o plan went down or not....

Good morning all! I've got 4DS HIS/LIS cardio power premix on tap for this afternoon. I usually workout in the A.M., but DH had to be at work an hour and a half earlier than usual (we ride to work together) and there was no way I was getting up at 3:45 a.m. to workout. Nope, no way, ain't gonna happen. :D Good news is we get to leave work today at 3:30 pm so there's no reason I can't sneak in my workout this afternoon. No excuses right?

Yesterday I did Disc....19 (I think). I'm starting to lose count! :p Holy crap that was tough! Those double wave loads about did me in. It was a bad lifting day for me all around. I knew from about the 3-4 exercise it was just an off day. Of course in true Katie style my frustration level started to rise and my temper took off (because I was upset I was having an off day). Luckily DH was in the area at the time and had a "come to Jesus" talk with me - he essentially told me I was acting like a 5 year old, it was silly to get upset because everyone has off days and that's normal, and to just do the best I could. I swear the man drives me nuts but he was 100% right. :)

Jeni: Welcome to the group!!! Are you getting pumped for STS? :) I'm in the middle of Meso 2 and Cathe is kicking my butt all over the place. Love it! Can't wait to hear about your experiences with the program and getting to know you more!

Wendy: Thanks for asking about my wrist. It is still hurting quite a bit. Not intense pain, just sore and achy. I probably should not have lifted weights yesterday. Oops! I think i'm going to just do cardio the next 2 days so it can heal a bit more. I'm glad to hear you had such a good time with your friends on Friday!! Those days are always needed every once in awhile. 500 mountain climbers?!?! Girl you are a beast! A cute, trim, sexy beast of course. ;) :p

Kristen OMG your son sounds absolutely adorable! How sweet of him! I'm glad to hear he had such a good time at his birthday party! YAY on getting Imax 3 for your birthday. That's such a great (and tough) workout. Those step routines sure are tricky. I've done Imax 3 a few times now and I still get my feet tangled at times. Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! My bday was in May and 90% of my presents involved Cathe or fitness equipment. :)

Tiffany/Kiki: So whatcha got planned for today? Another fun and exciting step routine? :D :p ;) Just think, 2 more weeks and then you can throw that step out the window. :) Your "Tiffany" story is hilarious! I used to wait tables too so I can relate to the type of people you were dealing with. People used to comment constantly on my red hair and/or freckles and it got sooooo old real quick. Yes my hair is red, yes it is natural, no I don't dye it, no I can't give you the name/brand of the hair color I use because it is natural, no you can't have a lock of my hair to show your hair stylist the color you want her to dye your hair (true story I swear!), yes my mom has red hair, yes I look like my mom, yes i'm aware I have freckles (it is my face for crying out loud), no my kids don't have red hair and freckles because I don't have kids, no you can't see any pictures of my red headed children because I don't have kids, etc. :) I swear the public in general has no filter. :) ETA: Okay Ms. Kiki, we've got to stop this dual posting nonsense. :p Kidding of course! :)

Kris: Thanks for the comment re my wrist. It is a pain (literally - haha -sorry i'm a dork) but hopefully on the mend. I'm going to *try* and take it easy for the next couple of days. Your neighbor's party sounds like a LOT of fun!! I'm glad to hear you had a great time. Great job with CCC!! That's a toughie for sure.

BBIAB!! Gotta give the ole' wrist a break from typing.

Katie

kiki:: How about we change our name to "A Bunch of Bad Ass Chicks Who Do STS!" LMAO! :p Thanks re the mountain climbers. I was basically numb by that point so I didn't even feel them! ;)

katie:: You can do HIS!? Really!? Come teach me combo 3 please!!!!!!! Hope that wrist is getting better! Zuzanna is the beast, not me! LOL

kristin:: Ok, you've officially lost it if you think IMAX 3 is...um...FUN!?!? I think you got in the head with a ball one too many times during your reign as a t-ball coach! :p:D Glad your DS loved his party! :)

kris:: Major kudos to you on your 14# loss! YAY! :D I've lost about 6.5# so far. Not sure how much more I want to lose yet. When is your official WW weigh in day? Mine is Friday. This Thursday though I am going out for dinner after my son's graduation ceremony....from kindergarten! LOL For this reason I am probably going to temporarily change my WW weigh in day to Thursday just for this week so I can get a true number! I weigh every day but only record with WW once per week and that's the number I go by when judging my weight loss. The other days are just for my own sake. Daily weighing keeps me on track better.

New to STS & the check-in!

Hi everyone!

I'm happy to find a check-in for STS'ers. I'm starting my 4th week of Meso 1 on Wednesday, and I am really loving this program.

I bought STS a while ago, and was hesitating to start it because I am trying to lose weight and had read some experiences of people gaining weight while on the program.

But then I just decided to start it because if not, then I would always find a reason to put it off. I am so glad that I started! I'm committed to eating properly - I've cut out alcohol (which is not a big deal since I don't drink a lot anyways), also candy (which makes my heart race), and packaged prepared foods. Hopefully keeping an eye on my diet will ensure that my weight doesn't go up! I've also added an extra cardio workout. So my rotation is:

Wednesday (STS)
Thursday (cardio morning & cardio evening)
Friday (STS)
Saturday (Cardio)
Sunday (STS)
Monday (cardio morning & Butts & Guts or Booty Barre in the evening)
Tuesday - rest

I really love the variety of Meso 1 and enjoy seeing the improvements I'm making over just 4 weeks. My clothes are fitting much looser, and I'm feeling great.

I just did disk 9 yesterday (legs) and am really feeling it today - I love those little bonus leg workouts at the end of the leg routines.

Anyways, I'm hoping to get some form pointers from you guys and am looking forward to reading about your experiences.

Have a great day all!

Welcome to our check in Melanie! Happy to have you! :) That's so great that you are doing well with STS despite your fears of gaining weight!!!

I OTOH was not so lucky and DID gain weight the first time I tried STS! This was last spring/summer. I gained about 7 pounds. I looked and felt awful! I quit the program 3 weeks into it and worked hard for 2 months to get my body back. This time around I've made changes and am happy to say that I am reaping the benefits! The progam is working wonderfully for me now! :D

Hope you stick around! This is a great bunch of ladies we have here and it seems to be growing! WOOT! :D

I SURVIVED!!! I think I deserve the million $$ prize... I'd like to put the survivor contestants backstage & see how they do. :p;) Next year will me the last year I'll be required to be a "dresser" until DS#2 takes dance (I hope she is a bookworm, lol). I'm kidding... it is fun chatting with the moms and watching the excitement. DD did great!!! She just loves to be on stage... she obviously didn't get this from shy, introverted me.:) It's funny b/c she is more introverted & has my charming personality people say... except she likes to perform. DD#2 did well too... considering she was separated from me for extended periods of time... good practice for WDW. Ok, so workouts... Y'day spinervals (a cycling interval workout) + Squeeze lower body w/abs premix. Today Squeeze upper body w/ waist premix + pull up challenge.

Wendy ~ LOL @ your new title. We've def. become the badass chicks who do STS when and how we please. ;) I have a lot of respect for Zuzana sharing those Body Rock workouts for free. She seems very sweet in her you tube videos. I know some people have made negative comments about her b/c of her previous profession, but shouldn't she be supported for making this change? Anyway, I think it is awesome she is providing the workouts and tips for a healthy lifestyle plus her workouts are intense and short!!! :D

katie ~ 3:45 a.m.??? I'm afraid I'm not that dedicated. Glad you will have time to sneak your workout in this afternoon. I think it is a good idea to rest your wrist & give your body what it needs which is time to heal. (signed, Nurse Autumn ;)). My DH is a voice of reason with me too. I have what I call "chicken little syndrome". When DH lost his job a few years ago, I was ready to start packing up the house b/c I had already moved us into foreclosure, etc. DH just reassured me and was so certain it would all work out... maybe for the better... and of course (shhhhh don't repeat this) he was right (AGAIN).

KiKi (or should I call you Tiff? ;))~ Oh yes I di-id!! :p;) I hit the Penney's sale y'day and picked up 2 tops & 2 bottoms. I really hate fitting room lighting :(... I prefer my dim lighting in my bedroom. :) Don't the store want you to buy the clothes and be a returning customer?? Why would I want to return for another look in those fitting room mirrors? ;) Ok, I know y'all are exceptions but not me. Nu uh!!! However, my DD#2 was worth all those changes. :D Anyway, I've started... how 'bout you? Yeah, we leave in 2 weeks. We are driving b/c my DH is carazy. ;) I should be in rare form by the time the RT starts. BTW, I have a similar issue with my name being Autumn as you do with your name. I've heard all the jokes... "so what are your sisters names?? Spring, Summer & Winter??" "Is your mom "mother nature?" "Hey Autumn be careful & don't fall down.":rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: And yet, people still attempt to make a witty joke after all these years.

Kris ~ ^5^ on the workout! The party sounds so fun!!! I enjoyed my RN and NP days but thoroughly enjoy being a SAHM, which I NEVER imagined I'd be doing. Life has certainly been full of surprises, lol. Your job sounds great!!!

Kristin ~ Aww, your son is soooo sweet!! You must be a great mom!!! What were your results with STS?

Jeni & Melanie ~ Welcome!! I look forward to getting to know you!! Just jump right in. :)

Yew whew Tracy :), whatcha up to??

Gonna go pack some for WDW and get my planner out... toodles!!!
