fit mommy: you are right about workout chicks. My DH likes to be a manly man ;) so he WOULD call us chicks... I like STS Body Rockers...building on that I thought of STS Body Rockin' Revenge. gots to go. BBL, so much for being back wayyy later...I simply had to see what was going on with you all!
 
Lol..my DH calls y'all my "STS chicks" too! Can't wait to tell him that I told my STS chicks about his NADS!! (btw, Katie, you had me dying with that reference :p)

Hi there everyone - STS Legs for me today, disc 6 - hard to believe I'm 2 weeks in already! :) My ankle felt really quite good this a.m., so I was a little more careful than usual when I went into the moves I thought might tweak it again and it was fine - yay:) I think I will change my cardio though the next couple days to lower impact stuff to make sure I don't hurt it again. Dang 41 year old body - shape up! No whining! We're exercising, like it or not! :)

Katie - your convention sounds fun - lol - great job with disc 21!

Tracy - I like the DOMS too - my arms are still talking to me today - I suspect my legs and booty will be next! Great job on disc 19!

Wendy - holy moly on the mountain climbers! Wow! that's all I can say:)

Kiki - too funny - "NADS"!!! hope SJP and GS BB&S was good:) Love that you did that one because it was in the player after SB too.

Jen - Awesome job on the run:) "Abs for lovers" - lol

Bridget - I'm with you on the early a.m. exercise:) If I don't do it first thing I'm afraid something else will interfere:) I'm a nurse too!
 
Autumn - great job on the spinervals! Yeah, those pull ups, uhhhh - not sure I can call my version that - wow!

STS Body Rockers sounds like a great name to me!

So yesterday's SJP went as well as can be expected :rolleyes: . That was my first time doing that one, since I typically skip any and ALL step combo portions of DVDs, lol :eek: . But that combo is pretty short, so the time factor made it seem less daunting (like 20 something minutes), but that just meant it moved that much faster from one combo to the next :confused: . Whatever . GS was great as usual.

Today will be KPC...I just can't help myself :D When I did my w/o manager calendar, I had to make sure to place at least one kickbox w/o per week in there in order to keep my sanity ;) I could use a good stretch, too, cause I'm starting to get a headache. Idk if it's from the back/shoulder work yesterday, or TTOM. I get a feeling it's the latter, which sucks big time, because in the past 6mos-1 yr, I've developed the most ridiculous TOM migraine (since my teens it was always "please just shoot me" cramps - but now it seems to be trading places w/the headache :confused: ). It comes on strong, NOTHING takes it away, and stays for like the whole week! *sigh* It's such a buzz kill.... :(

Kris: glad your ankle is getting better! Wow, two weeks down already. You'll be on your rest week, and itching to get to M2 before you know it. Hope your tricep NADS is better now ;)

So I did STS D27 (S-B-T) this morning. I was torn. I wanted to do the 600 rep BR work out but I would have had to re-arrange my STS schedule in order to do it. I ALMOST went for it but then decided to stick to the plan! ;) I enjoyed the work out. Went heavier again then what the work out card suggested. GO ME! :p

Stability Ball Abs

Good morning everyone - yesterday I did Disc 11 (C, S & Bi's) plus stability ball abs.

So I want to know what's with the move when you're on the ball, you roll in with one leg bent and the other leg kicking out straight to the side? I CANNOT do that one. I tried a few times and was just wobbling all over, and didn't feel it in my abs at all. GAH. Well, I do like challenges, so I hope to one day get that move. Can anyone out there do this? Any pointers???
 
Melanie:: I am not sure I know which exercise you are describing so I can't help you. :( Hopefully someone else can though! Great work out btw! :)

Kiki:: I lurve me some kickbox too! Ever do it with weighted gloves? :D

Kris:: Two weeks in! Goes fast, doesn't it!? :D As far as that Mountain Climber Challenge goes, the hardest part for me is the burning shoulders/upper body! OMG I wanna die! :eek: Otherwise it's not that bad at all! ;)

Tracy:: You're idea for a check in name is good too! I say any play on STS and Body Rockers is a good idea! ;)

So I meant to congratulate you on your last workout - that's awesome that you can actually lift heavier than what's on the workout sheet. So on Disk 27 at what percentage of your 1RM are you?

I did Disk 11 yesterday which ups it to 70% of the 1RM and I really felt some of the moves were tough. I had to drop down a couple of pounds for the barbell curls with band. I tried it at 29 pounds, but dropped to 27 to do the last few reps.

Wouldn't it be funny to have a camera in our workout rooms to record the looks on our faces as we're attempting to do certain moves? Like I caught myself in the mirror trying to do those barbell curls with the band and nearly burst out laughing. The look on my face was hilarious - the only way I can describe it is is "worried agony". I definitely couldn't be in a workout video cuz I just would not be able to keep a straight face during it. :)
 
Melanie:: Thanks! :) Disc 27 is 80% of 1RM.These first 3 work outs for this Meso have been very much trial and error in finding the right weight. I've entered the weights that seemed to work best for me and re-calculated my 1RM's so hopefully week 2 will run smoother for me and I'll be lifting what I should be "according to Cathe's plan" for this meso. ;) Can't wait to see if what weight loads I am lifting by the last week and if I really am 5% stronger as I should be! Yeah-I am sure I make some crazy faces too. I also curse at poor Cathe alot. :eek: I am a potty mouth and when something really burns I let em fly! LOL Cathe knows it's not truly directed at her though so it's all good. ;) :D You did barbell curls with the band with a 27 pound bb in M1!? :eek: Holy cow! I was no where even CLOSE to that! YOU ROCK! :D I did 35# BB curls today and felt strong and that was only for 8 reps! You are gonna be at 50# by then! :eek: WOW!
 
Wendy: I LOVE MESO 3 :D !!!! Have I said that before, :p ? That's definitely the one Meso where i'm ON it w/my 1RMs. It is so exhilarating to me to see my strength increase like that! I'm living vicariously through you right now, lol ;). AND you stuck to your plan :eek: , a woman after my own heart :eek: !

Melanie: I'm wondering which move you mean too. Is it the hamstring one? Also, 27# w/the band?! :confused: seriously....WOW. Way to ROCK it! As my (teen) DS would say..."you are gonna be so BEAST by M3! " :p

( FYI - beast is apparently some slang term for all things equalling a person being in total domination - like when a basketball player slam dunks over his opponent, or someone knocks someone out, is super muscular, etc...I hear of things/people "being" beast or "getting beasted" all day long :rolleyes: )
 
Kiki:: Even after updating all of my 1RM's, it was still off for M3 but atleast I had a jumping off point to start from. I am enjoying M3 faaaar more then I ever thought I would! Really starting to appreciate heavy lifting like never before. :) I just wish I could do SRL more effectively. I need a heavier weighted vest in order to do that though and I just don't want to invest in one right now so I'm gonna try a home-made remedy instead. :rolleyes: I'm gonna try somehow attaching my 5# ankle weights to my vest to make it 10# heavier so I can take 10# off my BB! Wish me luck! :p I still may have issues w/not being able to go as heavy as I possibly can but atleast it will help a bit...
 
I'm replying from my phone while the kids are in swimming lessons so no personals :-/. Y'day was Body Rock Get Fit for Summer Wt. Training Part 1 plus the lower body sections of TBM Dancer's Body. My right shoulder & neck are bothering me today - maybe sympathy symptoms for DH ;)- so my plan is cardio only.

STS Body Rockers sounds like a perfect name. TTFN!!
 
Good morning ladies! I did Low Max and a AC (stability ball one here too:) this a.m. Felt good, ankle was fine, yay:)

Melanie- I know what move you mean I think -where you're on the ball and kind of pike your legs in and the one out to the side right?- yeah, I'll be working on that one too! No tips, but I'll be interested to see if anyone else can help:) Wow on the barbell wt and the band - wow! You'll definitely be "beast" by M3! :)

Kiki - love that word - "beasted" - I'll have to slide that into conversations:) My NADS in my arms are pretty much gone, but felt my legs a little extra this a.m. on some of the blasts in LM :confused: Great job on SJP:) Have fun with KPC! Hope your headache gets better soon - no fun!

Good morning everyone. I am checking in a little bit later than usual, but was busy again this a.m.

This morning I did BodyStrikes 5 with Ilaria Montagnani. It is a good KB workout. She is so structured. I love it. Then I took my DD's on a bike ride to get them off their bums.:) So we rode for a total of about 40 mins.

kiki; so glad to hear that you are loving Meso 3...I will be there soon, hopefully.

fit mommy: how heavy is your weighted vest?... I don't have one and am wondering if I should get one. I know they have some here at Target. Should I start watching for a sale?

Yowza! 74 posts already this week. How am I ever going to get caught up?! :)

No workout for me this morning. I had a wee bit to much fun late last night with old friends from law school. In my, um, "state" I informed DH I was still working out with Cathe in the A.M. DH responded: "when you drop a dumbbell on your foot I'm not getting out of bed to rescue you." Okay DH, point well taken!

Back to the conference (translation - NAP TIME!!).

Okay, so thanks to Tracy's post, I just HAD to go check out weighted vests at Target online :rolleyes: and I came across this.... Sunpentown Giddyup! Core Exerciser : Target ...It's left me scratching my head and even blushing a little! WIERD! :p

PS...Tracy, my weighted vest is only 10#. I would like one that's adjustable to atleast 20# and maybe more!

Tracy:: I have Ilaria's Body Strikes and like it. Had one of her Power Strike work outs but didn't care for it so I sold it. I got her Abs and Push Ups (or Push Ups and Abs?) for my B'day but haven't had an opportunity to really dive into it. I did about 15 mins of it once. It's definitely killer! :eek:

Wendy & Tracy: would you both kindly stop all this Ilaria talk, as you know I've been making myself wait until after the RT to purchase that one :mad: (I was actually online last nite visiting it :rolleyes: in my collage shopping cart, :eek: lol). Or, maybe I'll order it as soon as I leave , so that it's here waiting for me when I get back :p

kiki: I only have 2 Ilaria's, but I really like her. And I should say that I only have her newer ones because her old ones don't look so good to me.. And don't expect me to feel sorry about goading you about new dvds :D 'cause you are going RT-ing while I sit at home:p:mad:


also right before lunch I did my 7wks to 100 pushups schedule and some BR core exercises on my walker/dip station that is from (I think) June 14 (did not do the jumprope....too much.)
