Beginner Rotation - starting Monday, August 15, 2011

Wait til Monday to be Pi**ed or happy, then really wait another 2 or 3 weeks to see where you are at....because even if you'd lost 2 pounds, it wouldn't have been something you would consider real.

Take me, I almost didn't do am wt b/c of diet yesterday was

b= hb egg, apple, banana,
L=1/2 cup van ff yogurt blended w/ probably about 4 T peanut butter and choco syrup
S=4 or 5 hard candies w/ soft center (werthers?)
D=wine and several handfuls of tortilla chips

And no workout. Scale down .5 pd this morning. What the heck?

By the way, i do not recommend mixing alcohol and QVC or ShopCathe.

Also, note to self, owning 30 workout DVD's doesn't make you as fit as using 1 workout DVD.

Good morning Stacy and FnV !!

I just finished a bowl of oatmeal and 1/2 cup ff Greek yogurt, so now I can head to the gym.

You guys are funny.... fried chicken, pizza and Werthers candies.... ALL favorites of mine. I love the original Werthers.... the buttery hard candies.... yummy !!!!

I'm thinking of going to the Cracker Barrel with a friend tomorrow morning for brunch. I always get the Old Timers Breakfast.... lol... no...not because I'm an old-timer.. It's scrambled eggs, hash brown casserole, bacon, homemade biscuits, butter and jam/jelly and lots of coffee. I need one meal a week that I can just enjoy and not think about.

Anyway.... I know why I'm not losing weight... I've been averaging 1850 calories a day the last few weeks instead of my goal of 1600 - 1650. And... I used to go to the gym every morning and do an hour on the treadmill.... that was pre-Cathe. Now I'm only doing treadmill 3 times a week and the other 3 days I'm doing weights with Cathe. But.. my skill level on weights is so low, that I don't think it's burning as many calories as I used to do on the treadmill.

I shall figure it out !!!

Stacy - I didn't know that GS had timesaver premixes. Sounds perfect !!! Have a great time at the football game. It's perfect football weather here in NC today. Temps have dropped from 90 to mid 60s. Yea !!! I love it.

FnV - alcohol and QVC and/or cathe.com are definitely not a good mixture. What did you buy? Come on... fess up...

Deanna - what's on your agenda today????

Got my workout done! yay! I'm tellin' what, that Jillian 6 Week 6 Pack level 1 workout certainly packs a punch in 30 minutes I was dripping with sweat, it's nice to have a nice fat-burning ab workout! It's a perfect workout to pair with my RKS workouts!

Tomorrow is yoga!

The weather here is a bit chilly, high of only 50 today and it's raining, supposed to just be cloudy by kickoff though, crossing my fingers!

FnV...yeah we'll see what the scale is telling me later!

Hello Ladies, I am here :) Today, I was debating if I was going to do the Cancer walk. I decided against it because I am schedule to Walk next weekend. I have not worked out in 2 days, I am going to view some of the dvd's that is on week 7, 8 and 9. I may workout today but I am enjoying relaxing.

I will checkin later to let you guys know what I decided to do. :)

PS: Got some more Vitamines (Fish Oil, Vitamin D and Calcium/Magnesium and Zinc). I already take a One A Day, but wanted to incorporate the above Vitamines as well.

Deanna - it's not like you to skip 2 days of workouts. Are you feeling okay? How about a nice walk outside today? Just for a change of pace.... But relaxing is good too... you had a tough week at work I know so you have earned a nice relaxing day. Enjoy !!!

I did 3 miles at the gym. 1 mile on the treadmill, then 1 mile on the elliptical (that gets my heart rate up higher), then 1 mile on the treadmill.

Off to do some stuff around the house and garden, then at 4:00 sharp I will do Push Pull with Cathe.

I am okay Susan just a little tired, mentally. I have not had a day of complete rest since I started working out on 8.22.11 and yes I had a very ruff week at work. So, I am taking advantage of this day. Today is the 1st, and remember I said from the 15th of the month to the end of the month (which was 9.30.11) I am under sooooooooo much pressure at work to meet deadlines. I was just exhausted.

I viewed Low Impact Step and Body Sculpting. Low Impact Step is fast pasted I do not know if I will be able to keep up!

Maybe, I will try Low Impact Step Sunday. I am glad the schedule has no workout listed on Saturday because next weekend I will be doing the Walk.

I also work from home from time to time, running a call center. I have been doing this since 2007 or 08. My contact was set to renew by October 1st and I had not received it via email, so I had to contact the company to find out what was going on. Needless to say I finally received it today, signed it and sent it back. :) That was a close call, if I would not have received it today, I would not be able to supplement my income when needed.

Ladies, I have a question. How do I create a Rotation out of all the Cathe dvd's I have? The Workout Blender is not going to work for me because I do not purchase downloads. Is there a place on Cathe's site that will allow me to enter all my dvd's to create a Rotation?

Deanna, try the workout manager...and then go to calendar, you can input all your DVD's and then put workouts of choice and more. One way to get there is black button on top of this page, 3rd from the left.

Susan, did you know that there is usually a tab where you can see the premixes of the DVD you are looking at on shop cathe? also, files have been created listing workouts , exercises and cathe's wt as a benchmark.

Stacy, u are once again stimulating my interest in DVDs, but at least this time its one I already own.

Susan, will November 7th be our last week on the Beginner Rotation? Check your Calendar. :) That means we have a little over 1 month to go before we are considered Intermediate exercisers. :) What is a Cathele?

My son asked me if I would like to go for a Walk in the morning while he runs. I said sure, that would be great, I will even take our little Lulu (Yorkie/Shih Tzu mix) along with us. :) That will be my workout for the day, I am sure he will want to go 3 - 5 miles. My son is in great shape, I have been asking him for years to be my PT but he did not have time for Dear Old Mom. Now he ask me everyday did you working out today? That makes me feel good. I should tell him he got that Gen from me. :)

Deanna, I'm not familiar with the Workout Blender, but in the Rotations Forum there is a sticky/post listing all of FitnessFreak's rotations. She's posted many great ones over the years and for almost all her rotations she'll post it also in "generic" form so you could sub in whatever "upper body strength" etc workout you have. I've done a few of her rotations and did the same one but the next time I did it, subbed in a harder version than the last time.

Well it's early Sunday morning, I plan on doing yoga at some point, but I think first I"m going to hit the grocery store before it gets crowded.

Dinner last night...fast food and a brownie...scale UP 0.2 lbs, time to reign myself in!!

My scale caught up with the snacking and peanut butter. I knew that was coming.

Yesterday I did some running- 2 miles steady state and 1 mile 30/30 interval... I didn't do wts. : (

Today is beginning of a new week for me, so I get a clean slate. : ) Plus every 3 weeks I get a new sheet in my workout log, so I get a fresh looking start there. : )

My shopping binges the other eve included: lip gloss from QVC/bare minerals for my dtrs and me and the stuff that had been in my Cathe cart- Bodyblast series and PS.

I've got a new Wen hair obsession, this stuff is making in my hair do great things and making my mornings soooo much easier. I wish I could give it to everyone I know to try.

How's everyone doing on water?

Deanna, that is so cool about your son being fit and running everyday. He sounds like he is proud of your work!
We get the good with the challenging, don't we? Fri I come home to my two dtrs cleaning downstairs of our townhouse...literally singing together (older daughter has all the Disney movie tunes) and mopping. This morning I come downstairs to yucky kitchen and at least one of the dogs clearly hadn't been taken out before bed, and so I am mopping before I've even had any coffee.
 
I did the first two sections of Jeanette Jenkins' Power Yoga, tough, but good, total = 60 minutes.

Soup! Stacy, you are brilliant~

I worked thru my resistance and completed MIS. I don't like to do wts for more than 30 min at a time, so a total body workout is a challenge. My warm up was pulling weeds/grass in the border of my patio. Food has been good and i've stayed hydrated today.

Susan, you are very conspicuous by your absence.

My plan for the week

Daily variety of pushups, Abs eod, cardio runs on T/Th and each body part at least once plus one total body.

Sun total body MIS (done, yea!)
Mon pushups
Tues Run, abs GS Chest and Tri (skip pushups on chest day)
Wed pushups
Thurs pushups, Run, abs GS Back Bi and Sh
Fri pushups and shorter cardio from 4DS or CTX
Sat pushups, bodymax 2 w/ abs or some sort of boot camp circuit thing

Eat clean, lots of veggies, pack lunches and snacks.

Stacy, how'd soup turn out? I should make some today, along w/ brown rice to keep on hand this week.

Deanna, how did your walk go? Did your dog make it the whole way?

FnV...good job on MIS! I made potato soup, tried a new recipe, it was only so-so, but have leftovers so dont have to think about dinner tonight. Have you ever done the 100 Pushup Challenge program??

This week I stop doing daily weigh-ins and will change to Thursday and Sundays. I've still been faithfully journalling my food each day.

Today is a planned rest day b/c I have to work late. I'm also working both Saturday and Sunday this upcoming weekend, so during weeks like these, I tend to do alot of circuit workouts or shorter, tough workouts like Jillian's Shred just to feel like I'm getting everything in.

Good morning !!! I missed you guys !!!!

geeze.... my internet connection died mid-afternoon Saturday and just came back this morning. It wasn't just me. When I called, I got a recording saying that people "in the area" were experiencing internet connection problems, that the engineers were aware of it and were working hard to fix it. Geeze....

Well.. they must have fixed it, because this morning it is working fine. It's amazing how isolated from the world one feels when you lose your internet connection. :eek:

It sounds like we all had some challenges last week. I know I did... especially with the food.

But I love the concept of a clean slate this morning !!!!! Yea !!!
A fresh start.

I'm not going to weigh myself this morning. I shall wait until next Monday morning. I don't want to start the week off with discouraging scale news :rolleyes:

My goal for this week is to eat as little processed food as possible, to stay within my calorie quota every day for one week and to exercise 6 days this week.... lol. Yea.. I know... a big challenge. But it seems like I should be able to do it for ONE week....

Stacy - Soup sounds yummy. And potato soup sounds great! It's gotten so cool here suddenly that soup would be perfect. I'm sorry to hear that you have to work all day Sat and Sunday this week. That's a bummer.

Deanna - how did your walk with your son and dog go? Sounds like great fun. Your dog sounds adorable. I had to put my dog to sleep a little over a year ago and I miss her every day. She was 14 and it was getting very very difficult for her to walk, so the time was right. So now it's just me and the 2 kitty cats.

FnV - your rotation for this week sounds great !!! You can do it !! You have reminded me that I need to write pushups on my schedule every other day this week, if our rotation doesn't already include them. I'll never be able to do pushups if I don't work at it... and I am determined that I shall eventually be able to do "real" pushups :)

I'm going to do the Official Cathe Beginner Rotation this week..
Today is Day 1 of Week 7 !! Amazing... we've been at this for 6 weeks....

I need to print this week's schedule out, but I know that it is Low Impact Step and Total Body Sculpting... both of which I like....

Morning Ladies, I am up getting ready for work.

You guy are going to be disappointed in me but I have not worked out in 3 or 4 days. :( My son and I did not go walking yesterday because he slept most of the day and it was to hot when he finally got up. So I just did Cleaning and Laundry Max.

I promised myself that I would workout this evening. Beginner Rotation list Low Impact Step. Again I think it is very fast pace but I will be in the living room doing it this evening.

The Temp is Vegas is dropping from the 90's to the 70's tomorrow, which mean I may be able to move my workout to the garage soon.

I am taking my lunch to work, which is a salad and 2 small pork lion chops.

Don't be to hard on me ladies for not working out, I feel bad enough. Okay off to the shower so I can get out of here.

Deanna - disappointed in you ???? NEVER EVER EVER !!!!!

We all have good days and bad days, energetic days and not so energetic. Days when we work out with vigor, days when we only want to lie on the couch. Days when we eat super healthy, days when we hit the junk food.

Progress, not perfection. You've worked really really really hard on this for 6 full weeks. I am soooo proud of you.... not the least bit disappointed.

I haven't done my Low Impact Step yet. I just got home from being out and have just finished lunch so I must digest before I hit the step with Cathe and crew :D

I did a round of push ups this morning. I will do another set now. Stacy, I didn't do the push up challenge, but someone on my other check in was working on it and that sort of gave me permission / idea to work on them at my own level.
 
Low Impact Step - done
eating - not bad.. not bad at all... we shall see how I do this evening :eek:
water - 30 oz so far... need to do better.

FnV - what's the pushup challenge? that sounds like something that I need... lol

off to cook a healthy dinner... not sure what yet, but it will include lots of veggies !!!
