40's August how I love thee

Hey, I'd like to do a workout but will wait another day. In the meantime I'm branching out in my green smoothies. I made this one today --> Wendy's Simple Super Green Avocado Smoothie Recipe and first thing this morning I hit a couple of produce markets. Then dd and I went to the beach for an hour and half. We caught low tide and clear flat water- super nice. Lisa, I took a pic of guy and his dog on a paddle board for you.
Mary the redness is just about gone- its not really about my arm being sore b/c it wasn't ever very sore but I was concerned about lymphangitis. Maybe b/c my case study was a person who progressed from needle stick to hospice. : ( Anyhow, how was disc 10? Murphy are you on the same one? Roxie did it stop raining?
Oh and date guy from last week dropped over at my home unannounced. This is an additional layer of Not OKness from before so I'm gonna close that relationship window out.

Only got in pt and a few abs. Did walk 1.18 miles. Was exhausted And thankfully I got in a good nap

Jody have you paddle boarded?I tried it once gifts have good balance!I was tense the whole time.

Mary neck feels pretty hood except spasm in left trap at times. Lower back is just weird that it continues to hurt

We went into town tonite to see the flooding our zoo is under water and one of our meat plants. We couldn't get very close everyone in town was there.

I did Turbo Fire HiiT 20 and stretch 10. Dh gets his stitches out this morning and then we are going to go for a walk and then get some quality spoiling time with GS.
 
Hi all! Today did SC. Roxie, that's crazy about the zoo! Enjoy that baby! Jody, that would annoy me too, somebody just popping in. On to the next! We have a paddle board, I'm not very good at it, I'd probably lose my dog at sea! Lisa, how are you feeling today? Hi Murphy! Cross country camp this am, we gave them breakfast and lunch! Took him home, Costco run, work out, have to get DD from band camp, back down to valley for more cross country, then a party for cross country. I'm tired! Have a good evening! Mary
 
1.08 mile walk this morning to loosen up neck and back. busy day getting nothing accomplished :) PT, she really massaged one area of my neck good, I bet I feel it tonight.
 
Roxie, that sounds like a mess! Lisa, I've never paddleboarded, they have tours where you can go on the inlet and stuff, I'd like to try. Mary that is a lot of running around! I'm gonna go visit my mom for a bit, take care all~
 
Did disc 10. I am happy this is the last week. Not sure what I will do next week. Mary/Jody - are you doing meso 2 too?

Mary - what is cross country camp? is that a running camp?
Jody - I don't know anyone who likes a pop-in. :-(
Roxie - what did they do with the animals at the zoo?
Lisa - it sounds like progress is being made; glad to hear it.

Murphy I have to finish M1, I guess I took my rest week between cycles a week early. : ( and my intention is to continue thru M2 and M3. Mary?

Last night's ironic moment- my mom stated (while smoking a cigarette after having pie and cookies) that she is going back to metformin and will stop taking the new diabetes medication given to her by her doc which she had been really happy with --how it controlled her sugar through out the day w/ just one dose, etc-- b/c of an attorney ad on tv saying that it was related to bladder cancer.

I will do trainers Week 6 Workout 1 when the ac man leaves it crashed yesterday so had to call the landlord to get it fixed its really humid here. We went for a 2.8 mile walk with DD and GS he is getting so big and so cute. He came right to me yesterday made me a happy grandma. Tomarrow afternoon I am finally getting that root canal done on my tooth first time I have ever been excited about going to the dentist.

Week 6 Workout 1:
Plank 1 min 30 sec
Supermans 1 min
Renegade Row with Side Plank 10 reps each side 10lbs. I didn't use the wt for the planks on the second 2 sets it felt uncomfortable.
Clean and Press 10 reps each arm 10lb wts.
Goblet Squats 20 reps 20lbs.
Walking Reverse Lunges 20 reps 10lbs.
Repeat 3 times.

Murphy-I don't know what they have done with the animals but its suppose to rain here all week so I don't see the flooding receding anytime soon.

Hello! Disc 11 done! Lisa, hope that pain got rubbed out! Murphy, eldest DS runs cross country. This is camp week, two a days, with picnics, parties etc. Its a pain this year cuz band camp is the same week this year, DD is gone from 8 to 5! Jody, yes I'm committed to finishing this out! I'm so glad to be done with meso 1! LOVE meso 2! Funny about your mom! My mom asks me medical questions, then comes back and tells me the girl at the grocery store told her something different so she's not sure who to believe? Roxie, sometimes a root canal is just what you need! I don't like them, but I do like the relief it brings. Happy day with baby! Tonite we are going to the Indians game with friends, casino first. Did my first Cathe DVD, ok, it was YR ... no down dog....could make my shoulders/traps spasm, felt pretty good, just a little hard holding UB up on hands at times (so I didn't!) I felt so good (or else it was the stubborn german in me) I decided to do my normal dog walk....2.11 miles). I almost doubled my mileage! DId my PT, and some ab exercises that I can do. I can even to a crunch (small one, hands craddling head) with a pelvic tilt! I do feel like after YR I need to do my trap stretch and maybe a foam roll for those areas. THat's one thing PT is teaching me, what to do when I spasms. I've cut out a dose of muscle relaxers. And actually another 1/2 dose today, as long as I can sleep, I can deal with it spasming during the day.

ROxie, I know how you feel, when you need medical attention, you are amazed how much you look forward to going

Mary, I think I found another area to rub out! It's slow going, but I'm getting there! Since school is starting sounds like you are going to be a busy beaver

JOdy, sigh,I got nuthing for that behavior. It's just like me now, my sis seems to think my PT should be shopping with her (that's what she did for her PT after hip replacement). Um, I'm paying these PTs to learn the proper way, I'm working so hard to get to close to where I was, because this would have been soooooooo much worse than it was had I not been in pretty good shape. I don't know how those out of shape go thru major surgeries.

I'm almost to the point I feel like a normal person except for a stiff neck (not painful). Its enjoyable walking and not having my shoulder hurting for no reason and massive deep neck pain. I sometimes wondered if I made teh riight decidsion and if I would get back to close to my new normal. Now saying that, learning to listen to my body and close now, stretch that dam trap, and put on my light therapy (I think that's helping too)
 
2.7 mile walk it was nice and cloudy and cool here so I was determined to go further. Did my foam rolling trying to get my PT done later and then lunch with a friend. My left traps is kind of spasming I think its from the yoga yesterday even though I was very careful
 
Hello girls! Today did disc 12, two reasons, I missed doing legs and I wanted to just finish meso 1! Now I can put that box away! Lisa, I'm sure everything in your body is re adjusting itself. It does take time, probably up to a year. I know it's a slow process. Enjoy lunch. Roxie, hope the dentist went well and that you are feeling ok. Jody, are you brand new? Arm better? When do you go back to school? Hi Murphy! Game was ok, we lost, had fun @ the casino tho. Didn't win, but didn't really lose. Cleaning today, then will get to see the kids for a bit later. I walked on the TM for 35 mins this morning now getting ready to head to the dentist.
 
Hi, i did legs disc 12 too, I'll get 10 and 11 later this week. I didn't do the bonus part of 12/legs. Mary are you taking a week off between cycles? I think everything is ok w/ the inflammation, I finished abx yesterday morning. I have a few weeks before school starts. Roxie good luck at the dentist I hope you feel better soon. Do you think tooth might have anything to do w/ the headaches? Lisa, you are doing an amazing job at your PT and other recovery therapies.
I went to beach yesterday w/ my friend, amazingly flat again w/ visibility. I hope we hear from Ronne if she gets a chance and I hope she is having lots of fun. Murphy I liked M1 quite well but I take longer than prescribed-honestly by the time I fill out my % of 1RM in my book, set up my area, set up for each exercise, fiddle fart around plus take a little longer between sets it takes at least an hour and a half and probably longer if I was going to be honest.
Deepak and Oprah have a free meditation challenge going on if anyone wants to jump in on it.
 
Hi all

Greetings from Pacific Grove, CA! First, apologies for no personals, trying to keep this short.

We're having a really great time here. It took us a few days to adjust but we've really settled in. Impressions? People are great, so friendly and helpful. We've chatted to loads of really nice people. Next, the weather is a bit disappointing! It's colder than we expected and the mornings are always cloudy. The scenery is spectacular. We prefer central and northern to the south. Went to Point Lobos State Reserve today and it was fabulous. Then we wandered round Carmel which was really cute.

We're going to Monterey Aquarium tomorrow before we head to Yosemite on Friday. Managed not to eat too much mainly by missing meals! Portion sizes are huge!

Also loved Hearst Castle, well worth a visit if you ever get a chance.

We've got about another 10 days left. Oh and people think we're Australian! I'm rambling! Will leave you alone now :rolleyes:
 
Good Morning,

Rough night my mouth hurt and then we had another thunderstorm hit and its still raining. The front half of my tooth broke off while he was doing the root canal so it feels really funny, I get fitted for a crown Aug 19th. I am trying to decide what to do workout wise it was suppose to be a crossfitsh type workout but not sure I am up to it.

Ronne-this year weather wise has been really off its suppose to be hot and dry right now. Sounds like you are having a fun trip.
