40's August how I love thee

I did shoulders from the Ch, sh, tri disc and 30 min of cardio from Intensity- the lo hiit/bc pm. I think tomorrow should be core/run or bike ride and tri to finish out the disc.

I slept til 11 today! I had a dream about one of my dogs- it felt like a visitation. She showed up at an OR where I was doing clinicals so she could get treated and get better and come home with me and I got in trouble for bringing my dog to work and then she turned out to be fine w/o surgery and I could take her home but she turned into a portable radio and I woke up.
Last night I went to see a band doing all Zappa covers, I only watched one set and didn't drink but maybe it invaded my psyche anyway.

Lisa, good job on TF, I am liking band work more than I used to. I don't know what it is about my neck but sometimes I think it is just the new way I'll be living and sometimes it is less noticeable and that seems to coincide w/ a slacker week of working out. I think I better get the body I want thru diet first, beating it into shape isn't working that well anyway.
 
Good evening! Just did YR. Busy day! Race at 8 am, he did well! Pancake breakfast, parade, marching band show, pool, cleaning and yoga! I'm a little tired! Jody, 11? How awesome did that feel? I haven't done that in years! Jealous! Lisa, good job with TF! Be careful with yourself. Roxie, did you get to go to the zoo? Ronne, how was the rest of your weekend? Have to get dinner, those kids sure do like to eat! Mary

The party was boring for me but DH had fun and that was all that mattered. We did get to go to the zoo this morning before it got to hot and then we came home ate and GS fell asleep on DH's lap for and hour. I really missed the lake this weekend but what can you do.
 
Roxie, yea for baby snuggles. I would have tried to steal sleeping baby.

Mary, are you managing doing the discs in entirety? I think its better that way, how Cathe intends it plus nice to have it done. But I'm more likely to procrastinate if I'm facing an hour of strength training.

Lisa, you travel to PT 3 x week? How's your new baby? Do you use a crate?

Ronne, week two of post vacation groove, what is on tap?

Murphy, how did you like doing the " maybe get rid of" dvds? I saw there was a sale at TF including some free dance workouts. I started to shop but remembered that I already complain about too many choices.

20 minute pm from CF as my warm up and then I did Tri from disc ? M2W2 so that one is done. Legs due next. Dang I just got past DOMS from last time I did the leg disc. I may run at TKD later and ideally I'll do abs but not sure it will manifest.

I wasn't feeling up to working out but I did Turbo Jam Cardio Party 1 and it was alot of fun I was so glad I did.

Jody-DD stole sleeping baby and he woke up and didn't go back to sleep until they put him in the car he was to busy getting into everything. Its so cute to watch him try to walk.
 
Good morning! Disc 19 done! 69 minutes long, but actually felt quicker! Roxie, I always loved holding my babies when they were sleeping! Still do, they are just now so much longer! Jody, I was just looking at meso 3 and the running times, I just don't know if I'll be able to do it. I go back to work next week, I work till 2, have to pick kids up at 3, then 4:30, then dinner, homework, running people to practice, etc. I really have to think this thru! Ronne, Murphy, hello! did 4ds kb only, with dogs playing under foot, good thing I wasn't jumping. Docs say it's good to start using the arms more so I figure kb is good.

Jody, no we don't crate, the hardest part is having the older one and younger together at times, they want what the other has, and of course they both hang around me all the time. I think she knows what 'outside, pee poop' is for, it's just those times she gets excitement pee. She was good and woke me up last night to take her out. Lot more work than I was expecting (never had a puppy before), I don't have enough hrs in the day or energy in my body for it all. I think it was you, I go to PT 2x a week and do the exercises at home on other days. DH leaves for toronto tomorrow, so I may just do short dog walks (it's so hot right now, mid 90's), and leave the cathe vids for later.

Mary, well, TF left my lower back hurting and my muscles in my neck where attaches to skull hurting. I think that was from trying to do reverse crunches, so then I switched to pt stab ball abs they have me doing (YAWN). I think the back was because it hasn't been worked with lunges etc,I had doms in my hamstrings today. May be a while before I try again.
I'm so over work, kind of a stressful day and my left trap is hurting now, boo.

Lisa - well done on the workouts. It must feel good to do something. Sounds like you're being sensible and listening to your body as well. Puppy sounds like a lot of work!!

Mary - we had a pancake breakfast on Sunday as well! One US tradition we've decided to implement here. DH made his first attempt at American style pancakes. They were delicious. Sounds like your peaceful time is coming to an end!! You seem to have got through STS really quickly!

Roxie - sounds like you had a nice time with GS despite lack of lake.

Jody - love your dream! :p Sounds like you're making STS work for you. Seeing any improvements yet? This week I think I'm going to continue with a weigth focus but probably do a couple of circuits as I've got DD at home with me for a couple of days, so not regular days.

I managed to get Hiit 30/30 in on Sunday. OMG!! By the time it got to the last interval I was really hoping we were near the end as I knew I wouldn't be able to go on. Yikes!
We had a nice time with DH's eldest daughter and partner. Went to a wildlife park yesterday. Saw some very cute spider monkeys. DD's staying up there with her for a couple of days so I'm getting some work done. Did KCM Weights (Chest, Back & Legs) then Plates & Weights abs. My core feels well worked!

I did Turbo Jam Turbo Sculpt which is wts and a 1.90 mile walk outside it is muggy here I was drenched in sweat.

Ronne-we sometimes have pancakes for supper. It was worth the sacrafice even though SIL was really hoping to go to the lake he just couldn't talk DD into it.
 
1.1mile walk with dogs. Handling 2 dogs especially a puppy is not only and exercise workout for your body but also your mind for watching out for them . Had a hard day at work work longer than I should have and with no breaks then I did PT with the added core work which is just some planks rolling out on the ball... Prone leg on ball walking hands out and planks with hands-on high step since I can't do them from the ground yet. I am sooooooo weak in ub and core. Keeping up with the puppy and work and my exercise I'm exhausted so now we are all laying in bed taking a nap.

Roxie, hot and muggy here too, yuck. Will be like this all week

Ronne,I love 30/30 been wondering how I'll modify it. I'm sure I'll figure something out. I may not be doing all the jumping and such but at least I'm moving.... And sweating

Jody, I wish I could get eats under control, food is my drug of choice. You are right it is going to become more and more important to eat right than beat up our bodies up as we age

Lisa - those planks sound like hard work. I remember after having my daughter and trying to get into shape then, I found planks really hard!

Roxie - yuck, I don't like humidity.

Did BC today. Worked up a good sweat. Got my outstanding work project done and I'm off to the Post Office with it. Can take a break with DD now till she goes back to school and not worry about work.
 
Good morning! Sorry never made it here yesterday, everything is happening at once! Today did disc 20, yesterday did KCM plyo. Ronne, enjoy your time with DD! Lisa, I don't like planks.....at all! How many more weeks of PT? You are committed, it sound alike a lot of work and time. Roxie, we are also humid, I put the air back on, heat isn't so bad, but I can't stand the humidity! Jody, are you out there? Hi Murphy! Have to go into work again, I have so enjoyed being home! I'm stomping my feet! Ah, it will do me good! Hope everyone has a good day! Mary
 
Same workout different day. How boring can you get. But it works out good to walk the dogs just for mile in the morning to talk to them out so that I can work. As much as I don't want to work though. Mary I bet it is hard to get back to work after your long summer vacation. I'm on week 8 a physical therapy with a total of 12 weeks so you do the math . Ronnie, I envy you with not have to worry about work, my work has been very busy lately and is likely to be busy or next week. I think those plank made my trap a little tighter feeling a little spasms so I use a tennis ball rolling around on it on the floor trying to work out the sore spots . Even after physical therapy is over I'm going to see how much it would be to just visit the massage person yo stretch my trap out once a week. My lower back does feel better today though so maybe those planks are working!?

We were at the lake until 9:30 last night and then left for the lake at 9:30 came home about 4:00 not sure I will workout tonite just want a shower and some down time.

Ronne-its suppose to be 100 degrees by this weekend, summer decided to hit now that its almost fall.

Mary - I agee with you about heat. I don't mind dry heat but can't stand humidity.

Did 4DS Higher Step only this morning. Also baked a ginger, lime and treacle cake. I think one might have cancelled out the other :D! Got an optician's appointment this afternoon. Not getting any new glasses whatever she says though, as I can't afford them!
Planning on yoga tomorrow and a day out shopping with DD. Think I'll need the yoga by the end of it!
Oh, Mary, by the way, we went to see Despicable Me 2. Did you see it? I was almost crying with laughter at the end of it.
 
Hi all! Today did a Tonique work out, 2 complaints, she can't count & it's endless! I turned it off at 65 minutes and she was still going! Ronne, I want new glasses too! Of course, it's always the money thing isn't it? I got distracted and signed my contract a day late and now my pay will be delayed for 2 weeks, I'm so annoyed at myself! Roxie, a 100? You are going to have to plant yourself in that lake! Lisa, I think you are doing amazing! Think where you were just a few weeks ago and now your are back to Cathe! So much running around for work, the college has its meetings, the hospital has its meetings, tests and etc! I'm overwhelmed and I haven't started yet! Well, I'm going to go enjoy some quiet! Good Morning,

I made up for yesterday and did Turbo Jam Fat Blaster which is intervals and for today I did Turbo Jam Totally Tubular Turbo which is resistance training with bands and then my body was really screaming for a stretch so I did Total Body Stretch Basic Stretch. I ordered some new workout toys Firewalker bands, a new stability ball mine doesn't roll right and wtd gloves mine are getting worn out.

Mary-some reports say 101 0r 102, the water temp yesterday was 79 so it should be warmer this weekend.
 
Hi all. Did a Tracie Long today. Was okay. I almost got through all of it but then my assistants come down. Sorry I have not been around. Between being sick, lazy, and tired (kids being up late/waking up several times during the night), I just could not get myself together. School starts up again soon. I hope that when the kids are back on schedule I too can be back on schedule.

1.33 mile walk with dogs. Went to PT today sweated like a pig that's gotta count as a workout! Really at this point sounds like not much more exercises to add. Stressed that my chest muscles are too tight and need to strengthen back muscles and of course working on neck rotation. So word of advice for you all, I won't use too heavy weights for chest ever again, the back work isn't enough of a balance in the workouts IMO. When the back muscles are weak in the chest is tight the traps are used to compensate for it and that is what has happened

The stretch the PT did last week on my trap that about killed me felt awesome today. So hoping to get back to some kind of normal soon.
