40's, July Firecrackers

Morning! You all inspired me to do a Jessica Smith walking w/o, true started out swanning around and then it all turned! Ronne, have fun at the pub! Jody, 3 hours? I bet they loved you and didn't want to let you leave! Murphy, I like Chris Feytag, she has a nice way about her. Lisa, holy cow about the car! Hope the person was ok! Costco visit today, always an investment! Have a good day! Mary

I did a weight today and I'm down 2.4. I did TTM Extreme PM minus the steady step abs from PH. The PH abs are only 6 min long so hopefully that combined w/ the core work in TTM will equal XT Core 1. So 4 weeks of XT undulating rotation done ala Jody replete w/ subs and mods. I told dd about TOFI's and that I think I'm a MIFO. : )

Mary, LOLOL at you also swanning around then, BAM. I knew the manager at the interview from clinicals, so it felt familiar. I really think he was just trying to make sure he wasn't making a mistake b/c it is a pain in ass to get rid of someone once they get on board but I did ask if he thought I would be a good fit for his department and he easily said yes so that is good.

Ronne, at my current job, they schedule the per diems as just in case someone calls out or work load picks up and the regulars avoid routine cancellation, and even then, one guy I know used up every bit of his paid vacation on cancelled days last year. I hope this other situation is better.

Today was another walk of 2.5 miles, Suki seemed to have cement paws during part of it, I think she was hot, little did she know I was heading to a shady area so had to coax her to get a move on! I then did Circuit blast with some interesting subs and then BodyRock Summer Challenge of 15 min (I'm going to try to add one on each day, it's good HIIT)

Jody, woo hoo, hands up! Weight loss!!!! I think what is making the fitbit food tracking easier this time around is the smartphone app, and maybe more foods in their database (not sure about that since I only used it a week 3 yrs ago). Not sure if you watch Big Brother, but they have a tracker on this season. Oh there were lots of responders (2 police and 1 fire truck), it was just weird, only one car, and it was right by a 4 way stop (and it's a 4 way stop notorious for people not stopping). Keeping fingers crossed for more steady work for you.

Murphy, Take it easy getting back into the game! Ha, I'm a good one to talk!

Ronnie, variety is the spice of life, right?

Mary, try not to make too big of investment :). I'm avoiding until my Costco AMEX statement closing date before I even think about it! I do notice I spend waaaay less on groceries now that DS is in his place.

I did Chalene PiYo floor extreme or hardcore floor (?I already sealed the envelope to return it). It was better for me than the others. I think it is the chattiness and the occasional woots that bother me. She does not get too personal but personal enough for me. I alos did the Chris Fretag ACE Core Hiit. I really like this series. It is great for me right now and I think it is something I would turn to on those days that I am just not up for Cathe but want to do something. This dvd seems to be right in between (for me anyway) Cathe and Tracie Long. I love Tracie's older stuff, much more hard core. Her newer stuff seems a bit too short. I feel like I am just getting into it and then she stops.

Anyway, off to start another day. Waves to all.

Murphy

Hello

Doing a bit of financial stuff so thought I'd pop in!

Murphy - you're a big Tracie Long fan, aren't you? I was just mentally going through my DVDs and thinking about what I could get rid of and I've got one Tracie Long that I think can go as I never use it. I like her but the one I've got isn't chaptered, there are no premixes so it just doesn't get used.

Lisa - Is BodyRock the one with the semi-pornographic pics? Puts me right off!!

Jody - well done on the weight loss!

Mary - I quite like those sneaky workouts, not as daunting!

No workout for me. Really hot and sunny here. We're having the best summer I can remember for a long time. Housework and boring stuff today.

Only `1.75 mile dog walk today, then did PIYO core and the bonus Turbo Fire Low HIIT 20, I liked them both, especially the core one. I looked at BR day 2 and I didn't like the exercises so didn't do that, so I guess that may be more of a do if I like that day's exercises.

I had my private Pilates session and it was good! We will definitely do more. She did confirm my low back is extremely tight and I got to try out the Pilates Arc I have been eyeing for some time. She said since my neck is fused in 3 levels that it is really tight and since the low back is a curve of the spine just like the neck, if you have tightness in one area you will have tightness in the other. This gives credibility to the fact my low back got worse after my neck surgery.

Murphy, hmmm, Chilean woots ? I really have learned to tune a lot of stuff out given my irritating older sister (yea the one I did the Pilates session with, she was actually NICE to me today, no snide comments!)

Ronne, Someone on the DBRT forum pointed out BR, said to be aware of skimpy outfits. Again, I'm good at tuning a lot of stuff out ;)

Lisa, are there different instructors doing the BR summer challenge?
Ronne, thanks! on the well done. I've been looking at all kinds of vegan recipes I'd like to try.
Mary, how was Costco? I did damage at Greenwise the other day.

I did BM2 Cardio blast premix. An hour of cardio with the no arms cuz I'm using two risers justification and shoulders from XT BS. I worked yesterday all 12 hours and didn't do any workout. I went to beach on Fri w/ dd but it was not good for snorkel, we need to go earlier when it is still flat. We might go tomorrow morn.

ps, yea to murphy for getting back into the game.

Wow, was my core sore this morning! Not sure whether it was the PIYO core or the private Pilates session. She didn't have me do anything different in the Pilates session than I normally do except when someone is saying, breathe out, pull in and tighten your core like a corset is going on, again and again, and again. Well, maybe that did make me a little sore, but the oblique had to be from PIYO core (I am doing the side planks in modified form mostly). Today I walked the dogs 2 miles, then did KPC minus C and minus the last 2 combos (I was dog tired... haha no pun intended).

Jody, I know there were different instructors for day 1 and day 2 (didn't look at day 3). I'm still on the fence with this series. I sure doesn't replace anything IMO, just as an add on and if I don't like it I won't add it on (or if I'm too tired like today). Yippee for work hours, when will you know about the job you interviewed for?

Mary, are you out enjoying the day? How was Costco? I think I am going to get the Pilates Arc, it did feel good stretching out my back on it. DH is headed to Cincinnati M-W.

Hello

Another week!

Lisa - I didn't know you were starting with a Pilates instructor. Sounds like hard work. I've only ever tried group classes and never used the equipment. I'm about to have a clear out and get rid of a couple of pilates dvds. I think I'm a yoga girl!

Jody - glad you got some work in. When you do work, you really put the hours in! Hope you get to the beach. Re food, DH makes a fab (not vegan) meal with couscous, mozzarella, tomatoes and rocket. I just love it and could eat it every day!

Had a nice day to myself yesterday. Did yoga in the morning (though it was frustrating as I could only get the audio and not the visual on the streaming, fortunately the teacher was very precise). Then I went into town and had some lunch then to the cinema. Went to see Boyhood, don't know if anyone's heard of it? It is fantastic.
The reason I had a day off was DD had a trampoline competition and DH volunteered to take her on his own and he was helping out. Well of course, this is the competition that she decides to win TWO trophies at (not one, but two!). So I am bad parent! I've never missed a single competition  I was really pleased for her anyway as she's done a load of competitions recently and not won a thing and she never complains or thinks about giving up.
Back to work today. Did KCM Trim Down 1. Short and sweaty.

Good morning! Sorry to be missing, I think I was a little lazy! I did work out tho! Ronne, don't you hate the ONE time you don't go!? By the way what is rocket? Lisa, are you going to continue the Pilates class? Or was it a one time thing? I do love Costco, all the samples. I like getting my granola bars in the lifetime size box too! Jody, did you get more snorkeling in? Murphy, I like Tracies older stuff better than what she has put out lately. That Chris Freytag, looks like it will be easy, then bam! Not much here today, still binge watching Grey's Anatomy with the kids, getting to a sad episode, so much I have forgotten! Have a good day, Mary

Walk of 2.5 miles, 35 mins of spinning to combo of cycle max and pedal power, BR day3, 45 min Pilates with emphasis on legs (meh).

Ronne , I did a semi private Pilates session with my sister to try to get her into Pilates (using my old reformer) since she's interested and her chiro is pushing her to do it. She said she had fun, will see if she does it on her own. Yea for DD, isn't that always they way? They win when we aren't there! Sounds like she has a great attitude, it's not always about winning, but winning is fun :). I wondered what a rocket was too :).

Mary, You can be lazy, you've earned it :). I have 30 days until the big 5-0 day, eek! Really ramping up w/o's and watching calories, really have the motivation to lose more weight.

Jody, is there good snorkeling where you are? I never snorkeled when I lived in Tampa, probably because of the icky gulf, but when in Daytona I never heard anyone snorkeling because it's known for waves (or at least that's how it was for me). When on vacay I had a good time snorkeling but had to have a blow up vest, no way I could tread water that much.

Hi all,
I googled and I think that rocket is arugula which makes sense with the dish. I bought a bag of that the other day with intention of making a salad and ended up putting it in smoothie, it was good, but can't remember what else was in there so who knows if I'll ever repeat it. Oh and get this, I made brownies that were really good from black beans and and dates and almond butter. Dr. Fuhrman's Fudgy Black Bean Brownies Recipe | SparkRecipes
Today I did chest and back and abs that weren't that challenging so I won't count it.

Ronne, I'm sorry you missed DD win, but congrats to her. Was dad the lucky charm? I did BM 2 yesterday and pretty much only used the vocal cues since i know that one so well. It was fun. Don't know if I'd want to do that with a new workout!

Mary, I never watched Grey's but it is fun watching stuff w/ kids.

Lisa, there are reefs/rocks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TUnLvxl0gGk Blowing Rocks Preserve, Jupiter, FL on Vimeo When I went the other day we saw a lot of parrot fish and a nurse shark and bunches of little guys like zebra fish. But, yeah, it is better if it is flat and depends on the tides and stuff if you are just going off the beach.

Hi all. Today I did Chris Freytag's LB HiiT. Yesterday was UB and Sunday was Intensity with Leaner Legs abs. It feels good to be getting back into the game. The weights are still low, 5 lbs max, but the aerobic capacity is coming back.

Ronne - congrat's to DD.
Jody - thanks for the recipe, I will give it a try.
Running late, waves to all!

Murphy

Murphy, awesome! : )

Well, I'm back early today. I did XT CLB. I've found that I do well with that workout if I hold back a little on the cardio portions I can do the wts the way I'd like to. I also did Core 1 to make up for yesterday's miss. I might come back and do bi and tri later. I'm listening to Abba this morning....

Hi all

Jody - well done on CLB. I love that one. Thanks for translating for me! I'm channeling David Bowie at the moment ...

Murphy - glad to hear you're enjoying your workouts.

Lisa - good workout. Oh my goodness, you're on the countdown!!

Mary - it's great watching stuff with your kids isn't it?

Did Express Leg PM from TB today. My legs were numb by the end! Another busy day. Loads to get through and the internet's playing up. Got my preorder in and ordered Flextrain, X10 and LLA.

Morning! Did UB from LIS, trisets, I think! Jody, ABBA has so many fun songs! CLB was/is always a challenge for me. Ronne, you will enjoy FT! I love that one! I pre ordered last week. Lisa, your whole family is coming in for your birthday? You spent a lot of time working out yesterday! Murphy, glad to hear it's getting easier! Hope everyone has a good day! Mary

Lisa, right now, QVC has a reformer on for 345 while supplies last. I can see why you like it so much, it looks like fun.

PS about those brownies, I made them again today and followed the recipe more closely and they are not as yummy, kinda beany.

Did an X10 premix, low impact and fat burning (I think). I wanted to do more but as usual I goofed around this morning and did not have the time to add on more sections. I am starting to like this dvd more. Maybe I am just excited to be able to do more physically. I was able to do more push-ups. Initially I could not even get into push-up position without collapsing. Visual proof that I am getting stronger. Yippee!

Jody - what do you think you did different before that made the brownies taste better? I was going to make them and was thinking of going a little heavier with the dates - I love dates.

Waves to all.

Murphy

Hello

Murphy - that is so impressive!! Go you!

Jody - I'm a full fat, all chocolate kind of person or nothing at all!

Mary - how's the recovery going, PT etc?

KCM day today. Did Body Shop 1. Just got a Eoin Finn yoga DVD rental (I'd meant to delete it and forgot) so I'll be trying that out over the next couple of weeks.
Had an email to say that the DVDs I ordered are on their way so I might get them before holiday which would be great.

Ronne, I ordered too and got Flex train in addition. But funny, I'm going to be loaded w/ all these metabolic Hiit workouts and watch the pendulum swing back to steady state.

Murphy, the first time I think I used fewer beans- I think next time I'd use fewer beans again and add a few more dates. You can taste the mixture. If it is fudgey and yummy, you are good, it will dry out in the oven. I also needed to add some liquid both times to get it to mix, I used almond milk. My body is really responding to the added fiber in my diet. Lets just say my tummy is flatter and leave it at that, lol.

Lisa, did you buy another Reformer?

Yeah, Mary, how -is- the recovery going? You don't have to be stoic w/ us!
