*sigh* calling on you ladies again. got a call today that my step MIL's mom had a stroke today. she can't talk, but seems alert. my in laws are out of town and we can't reach them. she has been taken to the hospital and i haven't heard anything else so far.
her name is Grace so please give her a thought or two for me if you will.

honestly though, i need some too. this will sound totally selfish, but i have had to deal with so many deaths and taking care of old, dying relatives and friends in my 26 years, and frankly, i'm not up to it. so send me some strong vibes please, cause mine are wearing thin. TIA

26 is too young to deal with it. I'm 28, I agree that it's too much too young, just when we're figuring out what to do with our adulthood. Like others have said, keep your chin up!

Dear Jes,
You and Grace are in my prayers. It seems like some folks coast for yrs. without a major loss or life change, while others get bad stuff handed to them regularly from early on in life. We don't get to know the 'why' we're dealt the cards we get, we just have to play 'em with as much grace and good will as we can muster. I admire you for going thru so much so early and handling it so well.

Jes...my heart goes out to you. I am blessed as I didn't have to deal with a family death until I was 33. Not very pleasant.
