Hello ladies!!

Rose, are you still getting pelted with rain?? I know you are frustrated with the low impact workouts, but stick with it till you are better.

Affirm, how's the eating going with the braces? Not much deterred me when I first got mine LOL!!

So far so good with eating this weekend!! Today was legs and pullups. And I totally bombed out with pullups 3,3,2 &1 x(

Legs
Squats 75# 2x6, 2x5 and 1x4 (went heavier with # but less reps/set, was hoping to do 4x6)
Bulgarian Squats(2)20# DB 1x8 & 2x7 (same)
DL 75# 4x6 (upped wt from 70#)
Plie Squats 45# 3x8 (did the front bb hold which I think makes these more difficult so lowered the wt from 55#)
Calf Raises 32.5 1x15 and 2x16 (one more rep on last two sets)

It's been almost two weeks since I did a heavy leg w/o and it felt good. I tried to do SP&J step only and found out my legs were not gonna cooperate So I stopped :+.

Just me again. Finally got in 20 mins of steady state cardio on the stationary bike and ab work this evening. Was crazy to try to do step after that leg w/o this morning :eek:

Still on track with eating. Well, the day isn't over yet. But I hope to make it through without indiscretions LOL!!

Today I did LM + PS: BBA abs. I'm not frustrated with the fact that my workouts are low impact it's just that I need more variety (some Cathe workouts can be modified somewhat, but for others it's very difficult to do). My diet has been good, but yesterday I ate some homemade soup that my mom brought me (with all sorts of veggies, potatoes, sweet potatoes, red meat, chicken breast, and brown rice). I have never eaten that much ever lol! It was sooooo good. I even forgot my weigh-in this morning (it was a good thing that I did). This time it wasn't about the quality because the soup was very healthy, it was about the quantity (I probably ate thousands of calories in one sitting :eek: ), but today I've been good with my diet.

Catherine - You're so funny. I mean I would've never tried doing cardio after that workout. I always do my cardio first on those days I plan to do cardio and lift some weights just so I can avoid that. I'm not too fond of cardio either and I like to get it done quickly.

Affirm - The braces didn't stop me from eating either ha ha! I hope you're better.

Edited to add: It was cloudy today, but it didn't rain. I'm worried about Jamaica though. Dean should be passing just about now (they said the worst would be on Sunday night). We'll know tomorrow.
 
Today was the warm up and step portion of Body Max 2. I am adjusting to eating with the braces. It just feels funny. It doesn't hurt as bad anymore, but I do focus on eating softer foods. I'm rushing so I will check in later.
 
Hello ladies. Today is a rest day for me. Diet has been ok so far, but last night I woke up and I ate ice cream!!! Ahhh TOM sucks! I already prepared a low impact rotation with GS (it's a little boring but it'll work) and I'll be starting it tomorrow or on Wed.

Affirm - You will get used to your braces trust me on that one.

Catherine - Any DOMS today? lol!
 
Hey gang!! Rose I don't think a GS low impact rotation sounds boring at all!! And yes, I do have some DOMS today. Mainly my hammies. Must've been the DLs :eek:

Affirm, I love BM2 step. As a matter of fact, I rarely do the whole video. I can not imagine doing wts after all that cario :eek:

I did upper body this evening followed by 20 mins ss cardio on the stationary bike.

Bench 75# 1x5, 1x4 1x5 and 2x3 (last time was same wt 2x5 & 3x4)
Pec Flys 25# DBs 3x6 (last was 22.5# 3x8)
DB row 42.5 3x7 (last was same wt 4x6)
Band rows: 3x12 with purple band doubled
Overhead Press 55# 3x5, 1x4 and 1x3 (same wt 1x6 & 4x5 :( )
Skull Crushers 17.5 2x4 3x5 (last time 1x4, 2x3 and dropped to 16.25)
Incline Curl: 1x7 and 2x6 (last was 2x6 and 1x5 same wt)

Rose, you just reminded me that it has been a couple of weeks since I did GS, so this morning was BSB and wow was it fun. I am going back to the series myself as I think I was getting some results from it. I was doing 3 days, (BSB, PUB, CT) and I think I like that combination. I plan to try it again mixed in with some fun cardio.
 
Hey there! Second day of TOM for me and I'm definitely fatigued. I don't know what happened to me last night but I think I got food poisoning (I was vomiting all night long and didn't sleep at all). Went to the doctor and they ordered more blood tests to make sure. Oh jeez... So definitely another rest day for me. I just think it was food poisoning though. I feel better now, but I don't want to put my body through more stress.


I will start GS tomorrow. I already wrote down how much I'm going to lift and I tell you now that it's not even close to what I was lifting before. I'm not doing the stiff legged deadlifts on GS Legs and I'm modifying two ball exercises where Cathe lifts her back completely and just the shoulders touch the floor (roll outs and inner thigh squeezes). I'm doing them with my whole back on the floor and I'll be doing the inner thigh squeezes like Cathe does them on the Body Blast series (whole back on the floor, legs bent and feet touching the floor squeezing the ball in the middle). On the other GS DVDs, I will do all the exercises where Cathe has her back at 90 degrees with my back at 45 degrees and making sure my abs are very tight. I've been planning this for two days now so pretty much all exercises that can affect my lower back are modified. Three days for GS and short low impact cardio if I'm not on a tight schedule, one day for a full cardio like LM or LIC cardio only premix, one day for a total body weight training workout like Muscle Max (I have to sit down and plan modifications first), and yoga or rest on the 6th day, 7th day definitely rest. :p That's about it.

You sound like you have a well thought out plan for your new rotation!! You are one smart chica ;)

OK all this talk about the GS is making me want to pull them out. Lets see,..... Where can I fit them in,.....

I did SB today plus abs from ME. Eating is still good!!

Rose, food poisoning, YIKES! I am glad you are feeling better. You definitely needed a rest day after being sick all night.

Fitfairy, yes, my workouts are early. However, because I am working closer to home now, they don't have to be as earlier as the last few years. Last school year I was getting up at 4:15 to workout. My plan this year is to workout 5:00 - 5:45 or 5:15 - 6:00, prepare for work, get the kids dressed, quick breakfast and out the house by 7:50. Sounds good doesn't...I just have to stick with the plan.
 
Sheeeeeshh!! This morning a coworker comes in and says "I brought you breakfast" Of course I knew at that moment that breakfast to her was not what I would have in mind. So I said "oh, you did?" She proceeds to show me what she brought. Bacon Egg and cheese bisquits. Now this lady KNOWS that I don't eat that way. Maybe if I am on vacation and even then certainly not everyday!! So I said thankyou and politely declined. She acted a litted miffed. I proceeed to tell her "you know I won't eat that stuff" She says "yes you can" I said "yes, I can, but I won't"

Ughhhhh!! I hate it when people try to sabotage your efforts. I have been doing really good since the RT and my motivation is still there. And of all things a BEC bisquit YUK!! Sorry for the rant ladies.

I totally understand fitfairy. That is exactly what I was talking about a few weeks ago in one of my postings. Why do people do stuff like that. Yes, you can eat it....but you have choosen a healthier lifestyle and prefer to eat things like that every now and then. Why can't people just respect that!

Today was a rest day for me. I didn't get to bed until midnight, so I couldn't drag out of bed in time.
 
Those things never happen to me. People know how I am with food I guess. What I don't get is this, don't you eat breakfast before going to work? I know I do so if this ever happened to me I would just say I always eat breakfast at home and today is no exception. I probably would be insulted if someone brought me bacon, egg, and cheese bisquits. I can't remember the last time I ate bacon (probably when I was a teenager and it wasn't at my home; my mom would never buy it for us!) I always imagine what people think before they do stuff like that. Maybe your coworker thought: "Hmmm I wonder what Catherine would do if I bring her a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast tomorrow morning? Bwahahahhaha!". lol! I just don't get people like that.

Oh and ps... yesterday when I was getting blood work done I heard one of the nurses talking about what she wanted for lunch (jeez louise! Everything she ordered was deep fried! And I don't have to add that she was very overweight...) This obsession with junk food, will it ever end?
 
LOL Rose!! Deep fried everything is all the rave!!

I do eat before I get to work. And they all know that. I have oatmeal with walnuts every morning. It was like she thought well, I bought it for her so she has to eat it. I was like man, it was your choice to be stupid and buy it and it's my choice not to eat it!! Don't get me wrong, it was nice of her to think of me (I think) BTW this is the 47 year old who had a mini stroke last year :eek: She obviously learned nothing from that event!!

Affirm, sorry you didn't get much sleep last night. Hope today was a good rest day.

I did P90X legs and back. I did a total of 37 chinups!! Eating is still going well!! Let's see how long I can keep this going!

Affirm don't feel bad. I had to rest today too! It was 105 degrees and I had a major headache. I couldn't feel the a/c at work or at home and there's no way I was going to exercise like that. I've been drinking tons of fluids. For some reason when it gets that hot I lose my appetite so today I ate smaller meals.

Catherine I thought what I would say if something like that happened to me and I would've said something like: "what? you want me to have a heart attack?!", but then you mentioned she had a stroke once so that wouldn't have been a nice thing to say. Although I can be rude when people do dumb things like that to me, especially if they know I already had breakfast and that I'm very strict with my diet. I also bring yogurt and healthy snacks to work so they see me eating healthy things all the time. I'm usually the one that says: "oh my gosh you're eating all that?! That's like three servings!!!".:p

I hear stories like all the time, but I guess people don't have the nerve to do things like that to me. Some people are really interested in how I lost all this weight and how I have been able to maintain it so they ask. Just yesterday I was asked about my diet and exercise habits.

Rose, I think it's nice that people respect you and your healthy habits!! But maybe they are askeered of you LOL!!

I had three rest days in a row so today was definitely a workout day for me. I started my low impact GS rotation. I did GS: BBA and the first segment of KM's low impact premix. My diet has been great so far.

Catherine - I'm glad you didn't have breakfast waiting for you today, your coworker probably learned a lesson. I don't think my coworkers are afraid of me. They know I'm super nice unless they try to push my buttons. :)

Affirm - Don't feel bad you overslept. If you did your body was probably very tired. I usually wake up before my alarm starts bugging the heck out of me in the morning, but when I'm tired that never happens. Don't worry, hopefully you'll have more time to workout during the weekend.
