KK's December Check-In

Good Evening everyone,

Jeanette, so glad you are feeling better. Kettlebells are foreign to me. What DVD did you say you are using? Good to see you still enjoying golf. The antibiotics are working I think, although there is no sign of any improvement yet in the wound.

Rhea, congratulations on finishing your class. I bet your glad to put it behind you. Great that your cookies are done. They do take a long time to make and decorate. I've been there done that. What does TH stand for on those workouts?

KK, your workout schedule looks great. I also (when I can) workout a shorter time frame sometime. Also I use the premixes on some of them when I need a shorter workout. I just now bought "SOARING EAGLE'S EMBRACE" from Amazon and need a good read right now. Romance will be perfect, I'll sit down during the day, let my body try to heal and read this book of yours. Can't wait for it to arrive.

See ya all later, be good,

Janie

Good morning,
Today was Christi Taylor's Fit To Dance. It was fun, but boy was I sweating. I did 45 minutes of it. Next time, I'll grab the 3#ers as the 5# were hard for me in places. Tonite I need to get the Christmas tree moved into the house and get out the decorations.

Janie, the kettlebell DVD I used yesterday is AOS (Art of Strength) Providence. I'm hoping to have a lighter KB tomorrow which will help for some of the moves. I really am weaker with my left shoulder than my right. Glad the antibiotics are working.

Karen, your rotation looks great. I like the Bootcamp (Intensity series)premix doing the abs all at the end. Yep, I need to get with the Christmas decorating program as it'll be here soon.

Rhea, looks like we may get some weather this weekend, drive careful.

Good Evening!

Boy, I sure don't know what happens to time. It seems to escape me.

Am off to bed so I can get up very early, get everything done and get to class. I am seeing the end of this course and so am really pushing. Today was Push/Pull -- it's a shorter workout than the other and I needed shorter, unfortunately.

Jeanette, I love that Christi Taylor workout -- isn't it fun? Have fun with your Christmas decorations. Wish I were home to do mine, but oh, well... This too will pass.

Janie, that wound's not healing properties is certainly frustrating, but luckily, the antibiotics will take away the infection and get it on the mend. Goodness. Am glad that you've taken it up with your GP, as well.

Rhea, hope all is well with you and the baking of cookies. I've been there done that - and usually do it every year -- but not this year.

Am rushing to get to bed, so have a super day, everyone!:D

Good morning,
Today was Supersets and tonite is Garage Boys spin session. Will take it easy there as I still have bits of this cold. Just won't let me heart rate get up too high.

Karen, go,go, go!!! Know you are pushing hard to get done. I think you doing Push/Pull yesterday reminded me and I did Supersets. I love those workouts from the Body Blast series.

Janie and Rhea, hope you are well.

Hoping to get our Christmas tree decorated tonite. We brought it into the house last night. It's a beauty!

Jeanette

Good morning!

What a busy week. I can't wait until next Friday. (19th) I'm actually going down this weekend for my annual felony seminar in San Fran. I love San Fran during the holiday season. Union square is just so cool. Macy's and Sax always light up their windows different every year. I've got to remember to bring the camera.
I started back up on the workouts. Did the one-on-one trainer plyo legs with TH. Only half though, I knew better from the first time that I did the workout. I couldn't sit very well the next day. Yesterday I did the killer abs and today I'm going to try and squeeze in the all arms one before my massage. Fingers are crossed, lots to do today....leave tomorrow for another class and then and evening ride down to the Bay Area. Yuck, I hate driving at night.

Janie - TH is Tony Horton. He is one of the Beachbody gurus and is pretty funny in his videos. The one-on-one trainers crack me up.

Well, I had better get to work....yuck.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening!

Today was BM2 -- first cardio only (about 40 minutes) and then tonight I did another very short workout (cause I don't want to bother the guy who lives below me) from HSTA.

Yeah, I'm putting in 50 hours a week pretty much nowadays. Really pushing to finish. Thanks for your cheering me on.

Jeanette, hope your workouts went well today -- I do love Supersets -- I also like Push/Pull and like you I really like the Blast series. I gave away (to my daughter) my Blast Timesaver DVD. I'm thinking about getting another one. Those come in handy when you are pressed on time.

Rhea, its interesting to me to read that you're going down for a felony conference -- for those of us who aren't lawyers, it made me smile. Reminds me of when I went to the Blackfeet rez and they had this sign that read "Grizzy Management," -- made me think of Grizzy's doing management. I found that the sign made me smile, which the people around me couldn't understand. Anyway, so glad that you're back doing the workouts.

Janie, hope all is well with you. Sometimes when I don't hear from you, I worry a bit. But that's just me -- I think it's the mother in me.

Take care, everyone and have a super day!:D

Good Evening,

KK, I have a mother instinct like yours too. Everything is fine. I went to change vac today, and the nurse told me see thinks she sees improvement. I'm not going to get my hopes up until I see the PS. Since it will be almost 4 weeks since I last saw him, I should know for sure if I have any improvement with healing. I wish I could exercise, darn it. That makes me feel so good. Cheering you on too, to get done with your classes and back home where you belong.

Rhea, Wish I knew more about San Fran. I do know that they have the best sourdough culture there. Every time we go through the city, we want to pick some up. I love TH. He's a blast. I have his P90X series.

Jeanette, Glad to hear you are taking care of that nasty cold and taken it easy with exercising as you get better. Did you decorate your tree yet? For people who want to start a kettlebell program, what poundage do you recommend? AOS, I'm going to look that up.

Have great workouts everyone,

Janie

Good Evening!

I so dislike it when I lose my post -- it was all done and then it disappeared.

Anyway, today was Bootcamp from Intensity series -- did 5 intervals before course and 4 intervals after -- we'll see how that works -- am fighting higher weight right now -- when I sit around all day (which I'm doing nowadays), it really does make it harder for me to keep my weight in check.

Janie, so glad to hear that you're doing well. I'd be hard put to not be able to exercise -- so I do understand.

Hi Jeanette & Rhea! Have a really super day tomorrow! :D

Hi ladies,
I woke up late this morning so didn't get a workout in. However, I did do a walk during my break and I did do a Garage Boys spin session last night for about 50 minutes. Tomorrow will be something with weights and cardio I think. Maybe a Kettlebell workout. I did get a 10# KB so that will help with some of the moves that the 18#er was too heavy for. Oh yes, got the tree up and decorated tonite. Will get me decorations up tomorrow night or Saturday.

Karen, good job on getting all those intervals in. I like it that you can do anything for a minute! That Bootcamp DVD isn't as hard as I was dreading. I think it's pretty doable and I like it a lot more than the 4DS Bootcamp.

Janie, I have an 18# KB, which seems plenty heavy for some moves for me right now. I also have the 10#, which I feel much better with. Some of the moves have you keeping a KB above your head and I was afraid I'd hurt my shoulders with the heavier KB. With the 10#er, I feel like I can learn the moves better, then possibly add platemates to the KB, if it allows. I haven't tried platemates on them yet so that would help increase the weight on them, when I'm ready of course. You definitely get the cardio factor with weights.

Rhea, hope you have a great time in SF.

Morning,
Today's workout was The Kettlebell Way - Empire State. Got to use my 9# KB, which was more fun than a DB. Feeling it in my upper body already. KB's are a nice change of pace.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, will check back next week!

Good Evening!

We are having interesting weather here. Yesterday when I took Georgie out first thing in the morning, it was pouring rain and very warm. It was then somewhat warm this morning as well, but now it is very cold here. Interesting.

Jeanette, I so admire that you are always doing more and more and more with your workouts. Hope you have a super, super weekend. I'll be doing Christmas shopping on my day off tomorrow -- then it's back to course to finish as soon as possible. I'm getting excited. I really see the finish of the course on the horizon.

Hi Rhea! Hi Janie!

Today was 4DS Bootcamp, cardio only this morning and then tonight was was step section only (31 minutes) of IMAX3. I so love that interval 10 -- maybe it's the music and the movement, as well. Am planning my day tomorrow.

Have a super weekend, everyone!:D

Good Evening!

Just a quick checkin to figure out next week. It's tough, these schedules -- because I have such a lack of time nowadays.

Here's what I plan:

Mon: IMAX3 -- 1/2 in AM and 1/2 in PM -- anaerobics
Tues: Supersets -- this might have to be done 1/2 in the AM and 1/2 in the PM -- Strength
Wed: Straight cardio & Stretch -- cardio
Thurs: HSC 1/2 of it in the AM and 1/2 of it in the PM -- anaerobics & strength
Fri: Cardio only from Bootcamp 4DS 00 anaerobics
Sat: SJC -- premix -- cardio & strength

I don't know how this is going to go -- today was Cardio & Weights -- the full thing -- with my day off yesterday. My weight is up -- drat -- and so I'm fighting that, as well.:(

Hope you all had a great weekend -- got my Christmas shopping done on Saturday.:D

Have a super day!

Good Evening!

A real quiet forum here today. I did do 1/2 and 1/2 workouts today -- got up late and so didn't have a choice.

We'll see how tomorrow goes. Hope everyone is doing well.

Have a super day tomorrow!:D

Good Evening,

Went to my PS today, and I'M OFF THE VAC! It has done it's job. He told me to pack the wound 3 times a day lightly. As the days go by less and less packing will be needed. PS thinks in a month I should heal a lot or all the way by then. It is now 1/2 the size of a dime and still about 2" deep. No stitches, it just closes by itself. I can tell there will be an indentation where the nipple use to be, but hey, it's almost over and I can handle that. Can't wait to exercise whole heartedly. I want to get really strong this time around.

The people in the wound care center made me think that my wound should heal from the bottom up, but instead, it is healing from the sides in. PS told me this while I first started the vac, but from all the tension and different ways of healing people have talked about, I've forgotten that.

Only wished he could have told me things, but he just is not one to communicate very well. Again, he says if there are anymore questions, or problems to call.

I'm so relieved right now and happy. I have to trust him because I want to heal so badly. So I will believe this way, and hopefully in a month, I'll be able to exercise and get into the hot tub that is waiting for me every night since my surgery.

Talk with you tomorrow,

Janie

Good morning,
Today was a premix from Cardio & Weights. Fun as usual. Yesterday was my rest day. Saturday was Christi Taylor's Fit to Dance Cardio (fun and I really worked up a sweat). Sunday was step cardio from Amy Bento and Christi Taylor.

Janie, that is great news that you are off the VAC! Was it the antibiotics that helped it to heal? Will you be starting STS in January?

Karen, looks like a great week of workouts you have planned. Lots of fun factor there, which personally is very important to me.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Good afternoon!

I could not find this thread last night for the life of me. I don't know where it was hiding. Thank goodness it is here now.

No workouts for me yesterday except snow shoveling. I ran out of time. I'm going to try and get something in today. I'm just not sure what it is going to be. I got part of the Road Warrior Workout done on Friday, but that is the last time I have been able to workout.Well, I suppose I had better get to work.

Have a great day everyone! Congrats Janie on no vac.....whoo hoo!!

Good Evening,

We had snow yesterday and it decided to freeze overnight and today as well. Very hazardous as far as driving in it. I'm staying home!

Rhea, What exercises did you decide on today? Hope you enjoyed it. How is the car fairing?

Jeanette, I'm sure the antibiotics helped as well as the vac. I will be starting STS in January. No matter what happens! Got to get back into the program. I plan on being stronger than I've been before. Now that I know what it is like not being able to workout and taking it for granted when I can. Your workouts sound like a lot of fun. Yeah!

KK, better than do some of the workouts than nothing. Good for you. It is a constant struggle to keep the same weight, I know all about that. It's OK, you'll work it off eventually. Just don't put unnecessary pressure on yourself.

Have great workouts everyone, I'll soon be there with you,

Janie

Good afternnon!

Janie - I thought I did Core Cardio from the TH master series, but then realized that I actually did the Cardio Intervals. I'm such a dork sometimes. lol

Not sure what is going to be for today. I'll figure it out when I get home. Got lots of housework to do and some wood to stack.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Evening!

:D Please forgive me if I miss a few days here and there -- I'm on the last stages of this course and I found out today that with some help, I can finish by Christmas and so I'm going to be putting in 55-60 hours this week, which is going to give me very little time to do anything but make food, exercise -- get Georgie his time and do this course.

But I'm excited. Still doing the workouts -- still struggling with weight, but hey, I'm excited.

Janie! WOW!!!!! I'm so happy for you!!! So very, very happy. I think I can feel your relief even at this distance. Thanks for the good news.

Jeanette and Rhea, your workouts look great. Love it!

So please forgive me this week -- it's going to be quite a week for me -- but then, hey, it's only a week.

Have a super day!:D
