KK's December Check-In

Good Evening!

Today was the express ME workout Tough workout.

I've been doing shortened workouts and it's interesting to note that when I did ME, I couldn't do all of the biceps and some of the other exercises with the weights that I usually use.

Janie, I forgot to mention that you are so right about the different arts -- really doing the same thing, but with different mediums. You know, I always knews there was this complimentary course -- I just wasn't sure I'd stay to do it. But since it's so much shorter, if I can, I'll probably do it and then home. The thing is is that home is not very far away.

That's so cool about your snowman and all the snow. Love having the Meez back.:)

Rhea & Jeanette, hope your weekends are great!

Oops!

Forgot to post my plans for my rotation. Am in an odd position right now, as I'm in the middle of a rotation -- Tues., Wed., Thurs I did no workouts and so I started up a rotation on Friday. Here's what I plan, I guess:

Mon: Cardio & stretch
Tues: Circuit workout -- maybe STP premix
Wed: Cardio only (for anaerobics) from 4DS Bootcamp
Thurs: Circuit workout -- maybe Cardio & Weights
Fri: Light cardio for my day off
Sat: Circuit workout -- maybe something easy -- not sure yet
Sun: Off

We'll see how this does -- I'll be going for 9 dys straight -- but I'll add in some easy exercises until I get back in the swing of things.

Have a super day!:)

Good Evening!

Today was cardio and stretch -- did BM2 1st cardio only -- it's about a 40-45 minute workout. Today was an odd day in that my neighbor below me was gone almost all day yesterday and last night and this morning his cat was clawing at the windows and crying out to me every time I went past his window.

I was afraid something had happened to him. Anyway, he was gone all day today as well, but he's home now, thank goodness. I didn't know what I would do if he didn't return -- but luckily he's home now.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing great. I'm getting ready to come home soon -- but am still uncertain about this accompanying course.

Have a super day everyone!:D

Hi KK,

It's a little quite on the forums lately.

What does your gut feeling tell you about the class? Just follow that.

Joey and I searched for after Christmas specials, and got lots of ribbons. Can't have too many of those. We also bought an extra set of 12 pound dumbbells and two 20 pound kettlebells. I bought a couple of kettlebell workouts on line. They are suppose to be very good ones. AOS Newport and a tough one I've never heard of but couldn't resist. At the moment I don't have the name of that one.

My wound is only about 1 inch deep now and about the size of a cue tip around, no cavitie space either, so I'm healing very fast. Can't wait until it's just a scab, or better yet, healed so I can go hot tubbing. I can't believe I could at one time fit a golf ball inside it. WOW!

We still have lots of snow over here, hardly could make it out of our driveway. Everywhere else is just raining and the snow is melting. Oh well.

have a great evening,

Janie

Good morning,
Hope everyone had a wonderful time off for Christmas. I worked out some, snowshoed, rode my bike and relaxed too. No workout yesterday as it was my rest day. Today was ME express workout. Good one. Tonite is bike spin session.

Janie, that snow is tough when it's wet and slushy, huh? Thought of you when I was snowshoeing. It's a great cardio workout. Have you done any kettlebell workouts yet? That wound is healing great and I'm very happy for you. Glad to see your Meez again! How'd you get her back?

Karen, darn, thought you would have been home for the holidays, but you are pushing hard to the end. I'm sorry, but I can't remember what the name of the course is that you are taking. How long have you been in Florida now? Seems like a very long time? Glad that neighbor came home. I sure hate to see animals in distress.

Hi Rhea, this snow is melting good.

Good Evening!

Today was SJP -- but only Hi-Lo and weights -- a good circuit workout. A fun one and it's not too terribly long.

Hi Jeanette -- seems like a long time since we talked here on the forums. You snowshoed, huh? That can be a pretty hard workout right there -- I remember cross-country snowshoeing from when I lived in Vermont, and I remember it being hard work, but fun. \

I've been here a year now -- I never thought it would take this long -- and it wouldn't have if I hadn't also had to work while I'm here -- and then I had to take off an entire month there at deadline time, etc. I'm here taking classes at my church.

Yeah, my neighbors cat really had me going last night. Was so happy to see him come home.

Janie, am thrilled that the wound is almost all healed -- knock on wood -- yea -- I love that you went out and bought the new weights and new workouts -- I know I'd be biting at the bit -- and I bet you are, also. Eventually I'd like to get some new weights, also, but everythings on hold right now as I take the steps to finish here and get home. That's a cute Meez. By the way, how did you get the Meez back?

Hi Rhea! How was your holiday!

Have a terrific New Year, everyone! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

I need to lose weight before anything else, so tomorrow will start a rotation for that. It's an aggressive but safe way to lose weight. Suppose to lose at least 2 pounds a week, while eating clean. May not be able to finish the reps, so it might be 5 reps instead of 10-15. We'll see and I'll let you know everyday on the progress. I'm confident.

1. Stability ball push up to jackknife 10-15 reps
2. Split Squat to low cable row 10-15 reps each side
3. Dumbell front squat to press 10-15 reps
4. Deadlift 5 times, walk 10 yards turn a round and repeat 4 times without stopping.
5. 10 push ups
6. 10 cross body mountain climbers
7. 10 burpees
8. 10 jump squats
9. 10 recline rows

Rest 30-45 seconds between each exercise, perform these one right after the other. Rest 90-120 seconds after the fifth movements and repeat for 4 circuits. This will be done 3 times a week.
Add (twice a week) a High Intensity Anaerobic Interval Training in-between these workouts.
Add (once a week) a High Intensity Aerobic Interval Training.
Then have a rest day and start over again, but maybe this time use a kettlebell workout, they are metabolic workouts as well.

Jeanette, it is so good to hear from you. I've missed you. Sounds like you had a great time during Christmas.:) Today is the first day that my wound is too small to use the gauze. YEAH! I'm only using a 2" square qauze in case there is fluid to catch. Hoping everything will continue to heal good. After this week exercises, I'll be doing a week of kettlebell exercises from AOS Newport or another one, (forgot the name at the moment) all great workouts.

I got my meez back by checking in one day and found that I could come back on Dec. 24th and the banned would be expired at that time. So, here she is. I missed the little avatar and glad she is back.

KK, Would love to know more about your classes too. You don't talk go into detail much. Hope I'm not invading on your privacy. Wish you can get home. A year from home is just too long to stay away. How's Georgie doing? How's your hand doing?

Rhea, talk with you soon?

Take care and have great workouts, I will too. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Good Evening!

It's New Year's Eve and here I am on the Net.:( But I could have gone out, I just decided to stay here and catch up on things.

Janie, your rotation reminds me a bit of my own -- except that I put in Cathe's strength routines instead of the list of exercises you'll be doing. But I do anaerobics twice a week and agressive circuit workouts, also. So I have some questions: what are cross body mountain climbers and what are burpees -- now I know I should know what a jackknife is but I also seem to be unsure. Also what's dumbbell squat to press?

I don't talk too much about my classes because they are with my church and I don't know sometimes if that is something that I should talk about on the forums. Some people are okay with it, some people aren't.

This course is about spiritual enlightenment -- the course is only offered here, thus I am here. You know in the Buddhist world (sorry if that's misspelled), there is a lot of talk about the path to enlightenment -- there's also talk of this in the Native American world. This is somewhat similar in that I am on a path to more understandings about life and my relationship to it.

The course is done on a checksheet -- and when you finish all the items on the checksheet, you finish the course -- thus, you can kinda set your own pace. Many people go faster than I did, cause they have a more full time schedule -- but I couldn't do that as I have to continue to work -- and had a full-fledged deadline while I have been here.

The hand is so much better and Georgie is wonderful! :D Although he hasn't eaten anything today and so I'm a little concerned about him.

Well have a wonderful New Year's Janie, Rhea and Jeanette. I just love this Irving Berlin song, so I'll repeat it here:

"So let the old year die
With a fond good-bye
And our hopes as high as a kite.
How can our love go wrong if...
We start the New Year right?"

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Good morning,
Happy New Year to everyone!

My workout yesterday was hmmmm, oh yes, LIC with 2 risers. It was a goodie for me. I wasn't able to post in the morning as I was busy preparing a hash brown casserole for DH to take to work. I worked half a day then came home and dinked around, also practicing my golf swing a bit in the front yard. I'll be going down to the valley to play on Saturday :D. DH is going with me and I'll be playing with one of his co-workers that I played with last month and beat badly. This time, I'll be on his home course and I'm sure he'll beat me good, but it's all in good fun!

Today was Supersets, which was fun. Don't know how Cathe does those bicep concentration curls with 12#ers. 10's are tough for me. Hoping to get a bike ride in this afternoon if it warms up, which it's looking good right now. I'm looking forward to STS and getting my strength back. Of course, without cleaner eating than what I've done this year, the results won't show much.

Karen, don't feel bad about your New Year's Eve. DH and I stayed home, watching TV and nothing particularly interesting either. Glad you mentioned the course you're taking. I think you might have mentioned it before and I forgot. So do you think you will take the other course too?

Janie, I so admire your ability to put rotations together and research health issues. That's awesome about your shrinking wound. Hope you get great results with the weight loss routine you wrote. Back in my 30's it was so easy to drop 5# if I needed to, any more, it's like glue. I haven't stepped on a scale in ages, just don't want to deal with the # yet, but I might soon. When I went to the doctor in November for my physical, I was surprised that I really hadn't gained anything in a year, but I know I'm not as lean looking as I felt I was before. Oh well. There's worse things and I'm healthy.

I need to house clean today and start taking down the tree and decorations. My DS and his GF (Cass) are coming over from Reno tomorrow and taking us out for dinner tomorrow night. That should be lots of fun.

Must run,
