...............to nursing school.....and freaking out already!!
Didn't expect it so soon, really..........classes start July, part time program. I put that as my first choice. It is extended past traditional semester boundaries and is only on Fri and Sat. I thought that would give me more time for the rest of my life (work, maybe?) and more time to study. It says that the lecture and clinical is compressed, but I don't know how that can be since you go to school year round for two years. I thought it would be less intense than the traditional four semester ADN program.
To muddy the waters, in a few weeks I am meeting with ASU advisors for the BSN program at ASU as well as the Clinical Laboratory Science program. I am still undecided on all this!! I hope I find my way soon! Part of me would really like a bachelors, since after this earning my ADN I will have TWO associate degrees, no bachelors. I suppose I am going to accept the spot and then figure out Plan B if I want out. Wish I knew where to go from here. Laboratory Science sounds sooo interesting, but nursing seems much more logical. I need to figure out what I really want...... Either way, hubby and I have pretty much decided that I will be quitting my job in July to give this a chance. If I hate it, I can use the student aid to go to ASU to get my bachelors in microbiology or CLS. We both agree that if I do nothing, paralyzed by fear, I will never move forward towards what I really want in life. The time for action is NOW!!!
Anyway, it is an accomplishment for me, however undecided I am on it all. Maybe ICU?????
I think it is time for me to take a few classes in stress and time management, eh???
Anyway, thought I'd share and see if anyone has any words of wisdom to prepare me!!
