I ran my first race!!

I ran my first race today. I started running a little over a year ago. I was terrible at first, two minutes was pushing it. Today I ran a 4 mile race called the Easter Beach Run. It was on the beach and raining the entire time, but I ran the entire thing. My time was 47:39. It was slow, but I feel great!!

Cathe really helped me with my endurance. I wasn't running much for a couple months. I went out and could still run. Next year I hope to shave 10 minutes off of my time.

Congratulations Lori! Excellent time and you should be very proud of yourself! In my opinion, the time doesn't matter - what matters is that you did it!

Great accomplishment! Happy Easter! :) :)

Lori, that is wonderful! From two minutes to 47:39?? Woo-Hooo! You go girl. I am hoping our weather warms up a bit here so I can get back at it this year. It's been two years since I have been able to run due to an injury and I am raring to go! Congrats Lori and keep up the good work.

Go Ahead, Girlie!!
That is such an accomplishment! You should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations.:D :D

Congratulations, Lori! What a wonderful accomplishment. You CAN get faster and you will. You might be shocked at how fast you are and the beauty of being a beginner is getting to find that out. I remember the sweet torture, ok, sheer torture, :D of speed work. But when you have finished a short, fast training run and those minutes start dropping off, it is almost as gratifying as racing itself! Good luck to you and job well done! Whoo hooo!

Thanks everybody! I am looking forward to getting faster and improving distance also. Thanks again for the nice words!

Congratulations Nurse Lori!! What a great job!! I am so proud of you, myself being more of a fair weather runner. To run on the beach which is difficult to say the least, and to top it off with rain...you go girl!!!!!!

Good for you, Lori!!!:+ :+ :+ :+

I have tried to start running several times, with the hope of doing some of the local 5K's, but could never get into it. You should be proud of your accomplishment! Not everyone could do what you did!

Atta Girl Lori! There is such a feeling of accomplishment with running. There are few things like it. :)

Wow Lori! Great job! I'm proud of you :7

Congratulations! There's nothing quite as good for the ol' self esteem than exercise is there? Truly, it is the best thing I've found to make me realize that I CAN do things even though they're difficult.
