Hardcore Fitness Maniacs January 2026!

Evening,

My appointment went well yesterday. My Rheumatologist is sending me to orthopedic surgeon w/my hip. he ordered new x rays. I also got a call today they had an appointment tomorrow. It can get any worst, right? I want to know what is going on with my right hip. I can’t hardly lift my right leg anymore. It’s very painful.

We had the tech for the thermostat come out again. The heater is still not working. He said this time after checking the attic/garage we need to bring out an electrician. He came out late this evening, praying we have heat upstairs tonight. I am getting tired and frustrated. The last 2 nights we ran the fireplace in the bedroom to stay warm at night. Fingers grossed its working!!!

I had another orthodontist appointment today, they ordered the wrong retainers (night retainers). I had to go in for another scan. Which will take another 2 weeks for the retainers to come in.

Since I missed my live belly dance this morning, I did a OnDemand one. I needed to get my frustration out. It helped. I also did Pilates Hips & Legs which was only 18 min.

I am sorry, I have a headache. I will try to catch up on personals tomorrow morning. Great job on your workouts everyone.

Today I did another Lauren workout Cardio Combinations Hiit, 34 minutes, 203 calories, heart rate 124/161 and Gentle Pilates Stretch//morning exercises 17 minutes, 38 calories. I had to modify some stretch movements like cat/cow on this one. I was rushed today since I had to make a run to the vets office for Harvey's flea and tick medicine before I got started on my morning routine. Total time was 47 minutes, 241 calories.

Roselyn, nice job on day two push day. I do not take a multi, I use a nutrition program and monitor nutrients that I am not getting enough of and take what I missed only. Not every nutrient is listed on packaged foods though so some minerals and vitamins that are not mandatory won't be listed. Even though I am told to take 1200 mg of calcium a day for bone density, I check and include the calcium in my food and will avoid too much as calcium from foods is safer. I use adaptogens but am careful lately because they interfere with immune suppressant arthritis meds. Food is the best way to get the proper nutrients.

Debbie, good job on the Cardio Coach and Max trainer today. I have a big deep sink, but I do not have to bend over because everything is so high in my house including cupboards that I have to use a step stool unless it is the bottom shelf. Maybe you could get some kind of rack that is raised and use a dish pan? My upper back does not like mopping and vacuuming. My husband does the dishes a lot of the time and empties my dishwasher. I understand. It is hard to keep the shoulders back and down and neck straight doing those kinds of tasks. I think some of those instructors try to show off and later you hear they are injured. I have made the mistake too many times over the years trying to do what they do. Not any more though.

Roxie, good job on TBTS Pull today.

Belinda, I am glad that your rheumatology appointment went well. I am sorry you are having pain in your hip. I hope the x rays and the orthopedic surgeon can help with that. That is terrible that you are dealing with getting your thermostat and heat back up and running. Get some rest if you can as it seems you have a lot of things going on at once.

This morning I did Iron 5 - Arms & Abs. Great workout, I really enjoyed it. I'm loving these workouts.

Leg Lowers - 30 seconds
Plank Saw - 60 seconds

Finisher
60/60
Triceps Push Ups - I did Overhead Tricep extension - 15#
Alternating Rotational Curls: 12's

Wow, killer workout! It was 40 minutes (actually about 30 but I did a warmup beforehand) burned 190 calories (boo), HR was 106/155.

Roxie - I'm glad your Trax warms up good. Maybe mine was defective? Nice job with your workout.

Belinda - Wow Belinda, you can't catch a break. So sorry to hear you have to get your hip checked out now. Nice job getting a workout in.

Diane - Good job with your workouts. I don't understand why you don't have to bend over your sink if it's deep. Don't you have to reach down to get the plates, glasses, etc. to wash them? I might get a wired rack that can span my sink so I can set the dishes and stuff on top. I cook a lot, though, so not sure that will work. I have to do something, it is hurting my back a lot.

Have a great day everyone!!

Here is what I have done this week for workouts, if you can call it that, since my husband will now not be walking the dog during the week.
Monday- 5 miles of walking through the hills
Tuesday- 4.7 miles of walking
Today- 3.5 miles so far, I will get in another mile or two by the end of the day.
Tomorrow, I plan on doing some sort of weight workout, not sure which one because I have to do it in the house since I will not be able to do it in the gym room. My son's desk is in there now so I cannot use it during the week. I do have all my benches and DB's in the house, I can do a weight workout with the bare minimum equipment. Maybe I will do a Caroline Girvan weight workout, those require little equipment.

Great job on all of the workouts the past few days everyone! I need to stop eating chips, for God's sake, what is wrong with me! I am stress eating, and it has to stop!!!

Debbie, great job on the workouts lately! I want to lose about 6 pounds as well, let's do it!

Belinda, sorry to hear that your hip is hurting.

Diane Sue, nice job on the workouts this week.

Roxie, welcome back and bummer about the sinus infection! Those are the worst!

Roselyn, way to go on the workouts and how did your mammogram turn out?

We have sun today, finally!!! It feels so good to sit in the sun and read a chapter in my book.

Have a great day!

Belinda I hope you find out about the hip pain I had bad hip pain about five years ago and had my right hip replaced I was born a breach baby and had dislocated right hip eventually caught up with me it’s great now

hi roxie

today I did Caroline day four was back and biceps was good. She had some cluster sets in there.

Evening,

I saw the surgeon for my hip. He X-rays was inconclusive. He ordered an MRI . He thinks I don’t get enough blood flow in my right hip joints. When you're not getting enough blood to your hip joint, where the bone tissue dies from lack of blood supply, causing pain in the hip, groin, thigh, or buttock, often worsening with weight-bearing and potentially leading to bone collapse and severe arthritis. It's commonly caused by long-term steroid use. I am not driving myself nuts by this. Maybe I tore something? I don’t know. I will wait until I get an MRI. I tried to get an appointment today, I have to wait until the referral goes through. They said it will take a few days. I will call the Friday. I also mention my biceps/triceps. He wants me to try a few things, get physical therapy. He was more worried about my hip.

Good news….we got heat in the bedrooms, yeah!! It feels nice having heat.

I did this evening STS2 UB2 and Pilates core.

Debbie - I can’t catch a break. I hope the doc is wrong about what he thinks. I do have a lot of pain my hip, groin, thigh and buttocks. I can’t lift my right leg anymore. He still wants me to keep working out. I am going back to physical therapy. I am at a loss.

Roselyn - thank you! Glad your hip is great now. I will wait until I have the results from the MRI. I hope they get me in soon.

Jolie - thank you! How are your parents doing?

Diane - the doc had the x rays results from Monday. What he is saying makes sense, I am on a lot of high does of steroids for many years. I really hope they find something else instead of the results he thinks I have. Maybe a tear somewhere.

Good night.

Today I did Gloved Up and Sweaty 49 minutes, 228 calories, heart rate 114/150, 3,730 steps. I finished with Lauren's 10 minutes standing mobility stretch, 41 calories.

Debbie, nice work on Iron 5 arms and abs today. I have somewhat of a dread with abs. Particularly planks as they cause me the rib pain all over again. I did side planks the other day on an osteo friendly workouts and it made me hurt all night long. I guess I lean slightly when I am washing dishes. The sink is so big that I don't often fill it with dish water. Sometimes if I have a large pan that is dirty I wash it and use it to wash other dishes in. We put a lot in the dishwasher after practically washing them and hand wash pans and plastic lids.

Jolie, nice work on all of the walking. Enjoy your weight workout. I can't have chips around because I will always end up eating them late at night.

Roselyn, nice work on Day 4 Caroline Back and Biceps.

Roxie, nice job on the walk.

Belinda, I hope the doctor is wrong on his guess. It seems like the dancing you do would supply blood circulation in the hips. It is crazy that they have to wait for an order for the mri. I guess I am lucky because those things have usually been quick for me. I have problems with angles and my biceps and triceps. I get cramps in them that I never used to have. That is great that your heat is back on. Hope you get in soon for the mri so you can find out what you have to deal with.

Today I had an excellent workout. I did Caroline Girvan's Beastmode Shoulders and Arms and loved it! I have done this workout before and was excited to do it again. This workout is 4 sets of each exercise 40 seconds on and 20 seconds rest before moving on to the next exercise. Here are the weights that I did today.

Arnold Press- 15's
Alternating Lateral Raises- 10's
Partial Lateral Raises- 10's (these were killer)
Alternating Front Raise- 10's
Rear Delt Flys- 10's
Skull Crushers- 12's
Close Grip Chest Press, no pushups- 15's
Alternating Hammer Curls- 15's (my forearms were feeling these by set 4)
Rotational Curls- 15's (now my forearms are screaming)
Finisher:
Lateral Raises- 10's
Partial Lateral Raises- 10's

I am so happy I made the change to Caroline today, I needed something new to do!

Belinda, I hope they find out what the problem is for you regarding your hip.

Roxie, wow on the weather temps, we had 63 degrees here in So Cal and we are supposed to have 70's by the weekend! Break out the shorts.

Diane Sue, great job on the workout! I have not done that one in ages :)

Debbie, I hope you have a great workout today.

Roselyn, Nice job on the Caroline workout today. Is that a new one on her app?

Off to walk the dog now, make it a great day!

Hi all! No workout for me today, I had to be at work by 7 and just didn't have the time.

Jolie - I'll have to check that series out by Caroline. I'm loving the Iron series so far.

Great job with your workouts! I am stretched for time so no personals today.
