For all those doing Freestyle Training... (sorry, a bit...

Cathlete
Hello everyone!

Now that the Cathe Roadtrip is over :( , it is time to get back to my regular workouts and I had promised myself that I would begin freestyle training (especially after seeing such trim and fit lovely pairs of legs on everyone this past weekend)! Going through my tapes yesterday, I came across an old vhs tape of some Tamilee Webb fitness shows that I had recorded years ago.

Does anyone remember that show Aerobic Conditioning that used to come on? It used to feature different fitness personalities, sort of like a FITTV segment but more short-term. Anyway, my favorite segments were always those with Tamilee Webb, termed "Tighter Assets". In each of her segments, she always did a lot of legwork with a little upper body. As I was going through my tape yesterday, it suddenly occurred to me that what she was doing was actually Freestyle Training in the show.

So this is how I decided to start my Freestyle Training this morning. One or two (depending on how much time I have) segments of Tamilee Webb's Tighter Assets followed by one half-hour segment of CTX (since I LOVE! CTX cardio). I had taped a bunch (if not all) of these Tighter Assets segments, so I can use a different one each day and switch up the cardio.

So if any of you by any chance have these shows taped, then you can use this for Freestyle Training. Rhonda and Carole, I know you too are the queens of Freestyle Training, so if you or anyone else have any comments, please chime in! It felt pretty good this morning though.

Hi Sanchia....

Any Aerobic step can be used for cardio, all you need is 20 to 30 minutes of cardio. Of course you can do as much as you want...
About 4 times a week at least... I do cardio at least 5 days a week and I try to shoot for 6 when I can...

Hope this is of help to ya... Rhonda

PS... I wouldn't make it my only cardio though....

You can check out www.bodybuilding.com.. look for sherry gideons on freestyle...also http:web.archive.org/web20030213030503/www.slimandfit.com/index.htm

hope this helps... Rhonda

Hi Sanchia...Rhonda gave very good advice and I would also mix up the cardio and not do the same cardio over and over. I am not familiar with that Tamilee Webb workout but as long as you are doing 4-6 leg exercises 4-6 times a week with light or no weights...that would be Freestyle...:)...Carole

I used to do all the Buns of Steel 2000 w/ Tamilee Webb and some others, collection of videos and found that they did help me slim down. They have 20min. cardio and then toning without weights for the legs, light weights for arms. About 50 min. workouts.
I still have them but I'm addicted to Cathe.

Those Total Assets are great I think too Sanchia. Especially if you do the cardio first. IMO

Carole- IYO, do you really find that the 4-6,4-6x a week w/ lite or no weights works better than PLB or L&G's with heavier weights only once a week? To slim the thighs that is. What do you think about those 2 like everyday w/ no weights? I mean 1 day PLB, next L&G's etc. etc.

Kali...it really depends. The heavy weightwork used to work for my legs but now I seem to bulk. The Freestyle concept is meant for slimming and heavy lifting is for building muscle. I do use 2 Cathe workouts a week along with Freestyle. I think you could do PLB abd L&G every other day but yes either lighter than normal or no weight for Freestyle...:)...Carole

It was great meeting you too, Beverly!

And thank you, everyone, for the words of advice. Today I did two different segments of Tamilee's Tighter Assets followed by a different CTX cardio. Feels really good so far.

I will let you all know how things go within the next couple of weeks and how my progress is.
