December Workout Checkin -New Monthly Thread

CathydsRNA

Cathlete
Hello all,
I know several of you routinely checkin on a daily basis but the daily threads get lost and there is no continuity between the threads. Based on a request from a poster in the Cathe forum to start a new checkin formum, which may or may not happen, and based on threads I have seen on other exercise sites, I have decided to start a monthly thread ( monthly as opposed to a longer period actually suggested by Carol). A continuous thread would have continuity, wouldn't get lost and might encourage new posters to post. If you have already posted for December, you can repost here or just start with your next workout. Other monthly checkins can also be started if there is any interest..say a clean eating thread, personal objective thread etc.

I'll start:
Thursday, Dec.2- Step Blast
Friday, Dec 3- Lower Body Work from the Firms "Super Sculpting", Cathe's UBP- biceps and triceps only, Dance Section from Yoga Booty Ballet Advanced, stretch.
Saturday- Dec 4- Rhythmic Step, UBP- chest only, Abs from Yoga Booty Ballet, Stretch from NY Ballet Workout 1.
Sunday- Dec 5- Slow and Heavy Legs&Shoulders, Dance section from Yoga Booty Ballet, Advanced Yoga Strech from Yoga Booty Ballet

Hey, Cathy! I'll recap my first few days of December later on today. Right now I'm going to state that I will be doing PUB today. If I don't commit publicly right now, I'm likely to keep putting it aside until it doesn't get done. So there. I'm committed now.

Some probably think I should have been committed a long time ago.

Cheers,
Sandra

Hi,
I'll just post last weeks workouts.
Mon- BC
Tues- Flexibility work
Wed- High Step Training Adv. and abs from ME
Thurs- Step Blast and abs from SJ&P
Fri- Step Heat
Sat- HSTA
Sun- Abs from ME

The rest of this month I'm going to focus on the Pyramids and the Slow&H series. I'm going into an aerobic base building phase in January so my cardio this month is going to modified down so that I stay in my training zone. I will be taking 1 week off for recovery before my next 6 week training phase.

Great Idea...

My 4 week rotation started mid november and would be considered a beginner workout by the looks of these posts :D :D

All weight workouts using CTX series
Day 1: Heavy chest & triceps 10 min abs
Day 2: Heavy back & biceps 30 min cardio of choice
Day 3: Heavy shoulders, legs w/ stability ball, lying legs w/ weights & 10 min abs

Day 4: lower body standing & thirty min cardio of choice
Day 5: 60 min gym cardio (bike, elliptical, and/or treadmill

Day 6: 60 min hike w/ Molly (my dog)

I think a healthy eating thread would be awesome!!!

(Today is my hike :) )

P.S. Terminator Junkie...you are an inspiration!!!!!

Okay, I'm back. I just did PUB.

Let's see. So far this month I've done:

Dec 1: Step Works and PS CST
Dec 2: IMAX Extreme
Dec 3: HSTA
Dec 4: SB/KPC 65 min combo (SB combos 1-3; KPC cardio drills; KPC core); PS Legs and abs
Dec 5: PUB

Cheers!
Sandra

Hi Cathy,

Good for you coming up with an alternate idea and running with it. I don't do well with check-ins. I made my suggestions because I have seen a new growth for check-in threads both workout & nutrition. (The other suggestion was for the convience of those that aren't familiar with the rotations or search function.) I find that they are a good source of support for many. But these threads do seem to get lost between all the others. I saw alot of views but not much support for this request so this my be something that suits the forum needs much better.

Keep up the good work,
jordan

Lisa....that doesn't really strike me as a beginner workout!!! Way to go...:)

Finished about 15.4 miles....27 degrees was awfully cold...}( ...now to relax and watch football....:+ ....Carole

Hey All! Shortened up my beloved extra long Sunday workout today. I did KPC and really dug into the jump kicks and higher impact stuff, that is a wonderful workout.

Thanks for all of your kind words regarding my MIL.:) At this point it's all questions no answers until next week. She was lovely yesterday and let us do the cooking and fuss over her (she usually caters to us hand foot and finger). I gave her a foot massage while her daughter played with her hair and MIL talked about her life. It was very sweet.

I'm impressed with everyone's recall of their December workouts. Lets see,...ummmmm.....nope, I don't remember what I did Wednesday. Of all of things I've ever lost, it's my mind that I miss the most :p

See ya tomorrow

Take Care
Laurie

Thanks Carole :) :)

Laurie...sounds like you guys gave your MIL exactly what was needed...love, time and attention.

My hike actually was more like 75 minutes. It was a beautiful day!(sorry to say Carole but we had sun and about 58 degrees)

Hey ladies. i was very relaxed today and slept till eleven. i then managed to lie on the couch (aside from cooking and cleaning stuff) and watched alot of tv. i painted my toenails and rested. dh asked, "what's wrong? you fell ok? you haven't checked the forum all day!" So here is what i have done so far this month:

dec 1 45 min cardio
dec 2 c&W and lower body
dec 3 imax 2 1-6 upper & lower
dec 4 sb
dec 5 NADA

I guess i should plan out next week tonight. i know i am doing bc/me on tues cause ups should be here by 11am!!!:)

Tomorrow then,

jes

Hi everyone,

Is this the new check-in? Instead of a new thread every day? Cool.

I've been really struggling this past week so won't even bother you with my meager attempts to work out.x( I did, however, start over today with P&P followed by Charlene's new hour long floor aerobics workout. I had to take a couple of breaks but did better than my last attempt. I hope to be up to par by the end of this coming week.

Tomorrow I start a S&H week + lots of cardio, if I can do it.

Take care all, & have a good Monday, if such a thing is possible.:p

Ruth:)

My workout for the day is done.I have done PS legs and abs, the hi/low of MIC and the abs in the stability ball of basic step and body fusion dvd.Later I will do 1 hour in my stationary bike. I have done the hi/low of MIC to subtitute the 20 minutes of run in the august 2004 rotation.Have a great day and enjoy your workouts.

Mariángeles a spanish terminator junkie.:) :)

Hi Cathy....this is a great idea...thanks:7 !!

Mariangeles..as usual very impressive workout:)

Laurie, I agree with another poster it seems you gave your MIL exactly what she needed and it was good that she let herself be pampered like that. You are all very lucky to have each other!

I feel like I've been fighting something off all weekend so I think I may just do a KPC premix...hopefully I'll be feeling better by the time I get home.

Sandra....what do you have on the menu for this week??

Have a great day everyone:D

Good morning....today I'm doing P90X Chest, Shoulders and Triceps, ABRipper and some cardio which I haven't decided yet!

It is also my anniversary....24 years...:+

I have probably been fighting off a cold myself. Lots of my family got sick after Thansgiving, and some ladies at work had it too...so far I've missed it....has anyone tried the new cold remedy "Airborne"? Created by a teacher...anyway I bought some the other day and as I was driving home I took one, thought they were chewable...OMG...they are like alka seltzer and fizzy!!!! So, now I'm driving with pink foam coming out of my mouth. Needless to say I drank all the water in my water bottle!!!!

Enjoy the workouts....:)...Carole

Hello,

I would like to join your thread. Hope this will keep me from talking myself out of doing the workouts that I have scheduled. It is very easy for me to do that. I work out in the evenings. DH is a second shift worker so I don't like to disturbe his sleep with my weights and jumping around. I tried working out in the mornings before, woke the hubby from sleep.

Anyhoo this is what I have done for Dec. so far:

Wed: Powermax
Thurs: Bootcamp
Fri: Stepworks
Sat: Rest
Sun: PS Legs & Abs plus step of MIC
Mon: Scheduled to do PS Back, Biceps & PS Chest, Shoulders & Triceps.

Take Care,
Laurie Mac

Good morning!

This morning I did Rhythmic Step followed by Pyramid Lower Body. I was still feeling stiffness from the PS floor work; can't imagine doing both the PS and PLB floor work together, as Cathe had in November's rotation. I have found the PLB ball work is getting better, but it's still a bit sadistic. Does anyone actually put ankle weights on?? Actually, when I do the outer thigh leg lifts, at the very end, I tell myself that THIS will improve my KPC sidekicks, so I really give it as much as I can. Adding an ankle weight would probably really improve things.

We dropped into Deep Freeze mode over the weekend, and my living room window is now frozen shut. I can't even get it to open a crack for some fresh air during a workout. Blech.

Laurie - That sounds like a lovely afternoon with your MIL. I'm sure she appreciated the whole experience very much.

Lisa - I used to hike a lot, especially when I lived in Kingston (where Laurie now lives). It's my favourite outdoor activity. Do you also backpack?

Jes - Has the UPS arrived yet?? Your Sunday sounded really nice. The way a Sunday should be!

Ruth - I hope you are back to your usual self really soon! How is Charlene's new workout? What are her floor aerobics like? I've only ever done her step.

Mariángeles - Good workout!!

Carole - Happy Anniversary!!! 24 years!! Any words of advice for those of us married only 10 years? And you cracked me up with your cold remedy story. That is too funny. Were you supposed to dissolve it in a cup of water first?

Josie - how was the marathon????

Laurie Mac - Welcome! I can relate to the noisy workout while others are sleeping situation. Every home needs a sound-proof rec/workout room. That's a tough upper body workout you have planned for today!! Whew! Not sure my shoulders could take all that at once. Do you usually do the entire PS upper body work as one workout?

Sandy - this week should be easy for you to follow, if you are so inclined. It's primarily the IS, with some added cardio:

SUN (started early this week): PUB
MON: Rhythmic Step; PLB
TUES: IMAX2
WEDS: BootCamp
THURS: Cardio & Weights
FRI: StepBlast
SAT: KPC PM#4; Muscle Endurance
SUN: rest

You could do your KPC premix today (which one are you going to do?), followed by the PUB Bonus Combo, if you are inclined, and then your gym workouts on Tues & Weds, followed by Thurs-Sun as I have it. What are your thoughts about that?

Have a great day, all!
Sandra

Good Monday Morning!! Had a kick butt workout this a.m. Cardio only from IMAX Xteme followed by all of PUB. I lifted heavy for most sets instead of pyramiding up and down and my arms are feeling pumped albeit a little shakey (in the good way):)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CAROLE!!!! One year until silver...what a milestone. Hope you enjoy the day, I always love to remenice (sp?) on special days. Did you have a big white wedding, was the weather good? I had to chuckle at the thought of you driving with pink foam arising unexpectedly from your mouth. I've heard people raving about Airborne but haven't seen it in stores here. Hope you can chase away the cold.

Enjoy your workouts everyone, nice to see the group growing:)

Take Care
Laurie

I have no clue how this is supposed to work but I will post what I did today because it would be a hassle to go back and to try and recap what I have done all month.

I did a All chest day today, kinda wasn't in the mood for cardio soo I did PUB Chest, PS Chest and MIS Chest and abs from PSSL&A. My chest should be good and fried by the end of the day. And I should be sore tomorrow. :D

Hope you all have a great day!!:)
