December Workout Checkin -New Monthly Thread

Hi Ladies,

I will be spinnign tonight to get the lactic acid out of my legs.

Sandra, The marathon went well, it started raining at mile 10 and it was 47 degrees out there so needless to say this slowed me down a bit, but I finished in 4:23 and the only part of my body that is sore today is my quads. As I was running the last 6 miles I was so glad that I have been working out with Cathe it made a big difference.

This looks like a GREAT rotation:7!! You know although I would love to do RS as I love it, I think I'm going to stick with a KPC premix because my body isn't up for step today:-( Geez the way I'm feeling I hope my body is up for SOMETHING todayx( I am thinking of doing the kick/punch combo premix...i think it's the 41 minute one. I may tack on part of PLB if I have the energy or even just the stability ball legs, which I hope I do! Ughh I hate feeling like this. Yesterday I started step blast combo 1-3 and only got through the beginning of 3 before pooping out....then I figured I would at least do ME lower body...well after 3 exercises, there went that idea, so at least I finished KPC abs!

Josie...how was your marathon yesterday???

Hi all! IMAX 2 for me this morning. I did NOT want to get out of bed this morning, so I was quite proud of myself for getting up and doing it. I knew that if I didn't I would be angry with myself all day. I ate horrible this weekend since my husband and I celebrated our anniversary. Rather than celebrate one day I pretty much celebrated for 3. So, back to the grind today. This weekend I am going to my husband office Christmas party on Friday and then the in-laws Christmas party on Saturday, so I have a feeling this upcoming weekend isn't going to be any better than this last one. I feel my Holiday resolve crumbling away.

T - PUB and 30 min. cardio All Step
W - Boot Camp
T - Leaner Legs and 30 min. cardio Step & Intervals
F - Step Blast combo 1, 2 and 3, Abs from SJ&P
S - Off
S - ME and 30 min. cardio Kickbox

Welcome Laurie Mac!! Sounds like a great upper body routine today.

Sandra....No way in h$%# would I put ankle weights on for PLB..;-) that seems to be a thigh fryer leaning on that ball. Yes, I was supposed to dissolve the tablet first..a blonde moment!!

Thanks for the Anniversary wishes! When I came home from my errands DH had 24 beautiful roses waiting here for me..:D Words of advice? Get a boyfriend on the side?...NOT....and just kidding!! I would say to keep those communication lines open at all times, even though some of those men get selective hearing as they age!

Laurie...the weather on the day we got married was sunny and nice (what do you expect for LA!!) I also want to share with you I am getting a massage tomorrow..:+ :D :+ can't wait!

Annette...One of the posters Cathy thought it might be nice if we could change the check in so we could find it easily. So, hence the monthly thread! I didn't go back and write in all my Dec days, I just started with yesterday.

Josie...CONGRATS!!! I have run a marathon in the rain myself and it was no cup of tea. You had a great time of 4:23 too! Our youth pastor ran CIM in Sac hoping to qulify for Boston...he ran a 3:20 and needed a 3:15 to qualify, not bad for his 1st marathon either.

I did half of P90X Chest,ShoulderS and Triceps and Timesaver 2 cardio. I'll finish up this afternoon....:)...Carole
 
Hey all! Happy monday. Today i am hoing to do upperbody and major abs plus the step portion of c&w. Sandra, i think i will use your rotation since i will have bc/me. but i don't have any kickboxing stuff so i will have to substitute.
ps. i wish something would freeze here. i have my ac on!

Carole: congrats! that is a big accomplishment. i haope you have a great day, and enjoy your massage. that is one of my favorite things on earth! Good for you!

Josie: a marathon, wow! impressive.

Hi Jes! Want to trade places?? I'm stuck in cold NJ;( x( and would give anything to feel warm weather and ac again, even if only for a little while:)!!
 
yes sandy i want to trade!!!!! i have always wanted to go to NJ. i love the accents and i have never been to that part of the US. i doubt you would like it here. very humid and mosquitos big enough to carry you off!

I just finished my workout and good god i am wiped! I didn't put my puzzle mats down to day, because it has rained so much and my dogs tracked mud all over the floor. there is no use cleaning it until the rain stops. Anyway... i just put the step on the hard tile floor and my knees are screamin'! i am loving those mats! what a difference.

Got it done!! CTX chest, triceps (weights only no cario) and abs;)

Sandra...I love to hike...no backpacking really....I have done day hikes on the App. trail....beautiful, beautiful!!

Well, I've always wanted to see Texas, so how about that?? LOL, sounds like an even trade to me:7! I would especially love to see San Antonio as I hear there are some beautiful festivals I think around springtime?? As far as the humidity goes....let me tell you I was in the Army Reserves for a few years and I did all my training in Columbia, SC in the middle of the summer no less...now if that humidity plus mosquitoes the size of small birds and fire ants from hell didn't kill me, I think I can survive Texas:p }( ....I think at least:eek: !!!

Sounds like a great workout you just did....good work:) !!

Yes I have done both PS Upper Body workouts before. It works out to be 10 min on each body part. I compare it to CTX Upper Body in that respect. I don't go heavy like Cathe does though. I think I feel the most DOM's in my back, because I tend to go heavier. I like doing this workout because Cathe takes a little longer breaks and only does 3x10's or 12's. I don't like to work too hard. :)

Just finished this in fact and feel really good.

Hi everyone,

Today I did Charlene's 2 new step workouts (30 min. each) & it felt GOOD. Yippee! I think I'm getting back to normal.

Sandra, Charlene has high impact & low impact floor tapes, but the last few years have been all low impact but definitely NOT low intensity! The routines are simple & easy to learn, although lately she's gotten a bit more creative. Charlene's floor aerobics was the first I was ever able to do. Now I can do others, but I still prefer hers. Although I love her step workouts the best, I like the floor ones too & of course it provides cross training to do both. I LOVE the newest one...I think it's the best one she's ever done.

Carole, Happy Anniversary! DH & I will celebrate 26 years Jan 6. Isn't it amazing to be happily married for over 20 years?! All the best to you both.

I wish I could say more, but am getting so tired...I better get to bed before it passes!

Good Tuesday morning!

This morning I did IMAX2 and SJP abs/planks. Felt great; now I feel great. But have a busy morning planned, so I'll check in with you all again later.

It's so cold here, and I have a really important work activity to do this morning, so I keep sending DH out to the car to start it up, just to make sure it still works! Then I made him take the bus to work. Nice wife, hey?

Good morning Sandra....nah...the bus once in awhile can't hurt! Have you ever seen the commercial where the couple gets the new car and they keep waking up earlier and earlier so one can drive it before the other! Cracks me up.

Ruth...26 years coming up...congrats to you too. Yes, these days it is much better being married....:)

I am doing PH legs, PLB floor legs and a 7 or 8 mile run, depending on how I feel....have a good day....:)...Carole
 
Good Morning: Ahhh, workout is done for the day. Hey Ruth it was Charlene for me today too. I did the step portion of 'Go For It'. I love her step because I can use 3 risers which makes stepping feel very different to me and really recruits my quads. I followed the step with PLB (AGAIN with the quads?!}( :) ) and finished with my own mix of spinal twists and hamstring, low back release. I feel great, ready for a good Tuesday!!!

Hope you are enjoying the updates, sure whets my appetite for Hardcore! Great consolation is, my Intensity Series DVD's are on the way!!!!!:)

Hi good morning. The new updates are great.70 minutes of kickmax . Hoow I am so haaaapy. Thank you Cathe. I can not wait to receive the new dvd but I love the dvd I have now. Today is C & W for the august rotation. I will do the bootcamp cardio and lower body premix and abs too. I loove the tired in my abs after a cathe workout. I love the side to side exercise with the stability ball.Have a great day.

Morning all! Well, I completely changed my workout this morning from what I put yesterday. I did CTX Upper Body Split and then cardio from 10-10-10. I am very happy to say that I went up in almost all of my weights!!! My arms and chest are dead!

good afternoon everybody! i have not gone to my workout room yet, because i am afraid that the ups man will come while i am in the middle of imax2 and screw up my heart rate! they useually get here by 11.

Sandra, is this the rotation you are going to do everyday this month, or just this week?

Sandy....i haven't been to SC either, but it sounds similar to here. it is better here today. the sun came out and it is 62. much better, but not the chill i was hoping for. i'll get over it.

Hi stayfit. i just read the updates to and although i am not a kickboxing type, i am very thrilled about the coremax and imax3!!!
your workouts sound so hard!!! how long did it take you to build up that much stamina?

i think i will go start on LB until my delivery comes!
