Hi good morning. Finally yesterday I did ME and 1 hour in my stationay bike. Today I am going to do IMAX 2 and the step cardio premix of C & W. I am worried about the low music and the louder Cathe's voice everybody is talking about. I don't have a stereo system.I am thinking buy one but is it really necessary? ¿What can I do? .I will appreciate any suggestions. Thank you for answering. Have a great Sunday everybody.

Good Morning; everyone,

I'm with you Mariángeles, i also would like to hear some advice or answer about the possible problems of some DVDs.

I did this morning PS triceps, CTX Triceps and MTV Power Yoga.

I'm waiting to receive my HC series on Monday or Tuesday. This waiting was so hard for me. But it'll almost finish. :)

Enjoy your Sunday-here in Spain is beutiful weather today. I think I'll going to walk lately.

Morning all,

Just been to pick up my race number.... start and finish is practically on my doorstep so that was no bother whatsoever. It's cold, it's wet and it's, snowy (melts as soon as it hits the ground). Race warm up starts at 13h30 local time. Race itself starts at 13h45. For me it's a fun run, just there to hopefully not finish last, but probably almost last :) Son no. 2 however, seems to think it's the race of his life. He cheerfully told me there was no way he'd finish last cause he new I would be somewhere behind him:+ Isn't he nice to his mum?

I'll be back later to tell you all about the horrors I've encountered on this race:) Aren't I positive:)

Have a great Sunday,

Dutchie:)

Good Morning!
Today was Imax 2 1-5 and PLB. I have increased my weight to 30, 40, &50 lbs.
Mariangeles & Marketa- I definately would recommend a cd player.The music is what really gets me going. Especially during cardio.

Dutchie- Good luck on your race. I would love to do that. When it warms up we have races here at the beach. I was thinking about doing some. I would love to get some tips from you, since I have never done that before.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Ladies,

Yesterday I was supposed to work out but I was too busy so I took my rest day instead (which was supposed to be today). So today I will do yesterday's work out (confused yet? lol)which is CTX Step and Intervals.

So we had some of DH's family over yesterday to hang out and help
him paint the nursery :+ :7 :+ , and then we all went out to dinner. Nice day but by the time they left I just didn't have it in me to sweat. lol Knowing how my day would be I actually considered working out in the morning but that didn't happen either coz we ended up running errands early and I had no time afterwards. ;(

I had bought the book Eating for Life and received it on friday so I have been reading that on and off all weekend. Learning alot. Although I don't know this guy consumes 16 ounces of water in such a short time-in one "sitting" so to speak. I think I'd throw up if I tried to do that! lol I may have to set my goal for 1/2 of that for now...baby steps!

No real plans for today other than food shopping...Have a good day everyone!

Have a great work out!

Good morning!...

Mariángeles and Marketa...I have to be honest and say I haven't had any problems with the music in Hardcore. Not sure what all the fuss is about unless its because there is not a "Music louder" feature. I like the music like it is and it lets me concentrate on my workout...:)

Dutchie...good luck and let us know how you and No2 son do in the run...I bet you guys have a good time.

The weather here is rainy today. I'd like some of that Spain sun!! I am doing an 18 mile trail run with friends and before I go I might do the first segment of CoreMax...enjoy the day...:)...Carole

Well, I'm back. It was cold, the sun came out a bit, but that wind!!

Son no.1 and I did a 10min warm up jog accompanied by son no.2 As you can tell from the new avatar he took pictures. I'm always unrecognisable wearing a cap with my ears sticking out at the sides :+ and sunglasses.

I ran into my old Nike coach: when we first started running, we attended a Nike start-to-run clinic. Which was very good in learning the basics of running. He gave my son a couple more pointers.

Then we had a warm up with all runners, some skipping and bouncing and stretching. Fun.

Finally it was time for our run. 6.3K!! I moved son no.1 and myself to the back of the pack. And told him to stay with me for the first few minutes. And off we went!! I tried to go as slow as possible cause you always go faster then you want to. After about three minutes, son no.1 was off on his own. I followed him slowly. At the first bridge I picked off the first two runners. Nice touch, Jenni, counting the runners you pass by:) Up and down the bridge and I'm going to fast. Slow down, one more bridge to cross. Focus on yourself. Focus on your breathing. Find your rhythm. Don't look ahead, you'll pass them soon enough. There's runner no. 3. Nice going. My, I've crossed the second bridge. Turn left... darn it, strong head wind. Forgot all about that cause we were protected from the wind at the first stretch. And why does it have to be at this long long road... ah there is runner number 4, she's got keys in her pocket, cling clang.. annoying noise. Increase speed and get passed her. Cling clang, she's behind me. Don't like that. Just do a little sprint.... ah, she's way back cause I can't hear miss Keys anymore. Two more runners up ahead. We go about as fast. Hmm, I'll increase speed just a bit. They're slowly getting closer. A cap is flying by. Somebody lost it. It's that wind. No fun. Oh, I can turn right now and the wind is no longer a problem. Picking off runners 5 and 6. Increase speed slightly and leave them behind. We're at the third bridge now. I can pick runners 7 and 8 off easily. Not used to bridges are you? Well I am... Bye bye. Focus, keep the same effort, and I'm on top. Now increase speed going down. Got runner no. 9 in my sights and... passed him. Keep going. What's that.. runner no. 9 passing me again?! No way, stay with him. Don't go too fast. Focus on your run, breath 2/2, focus. I smile at a volunteer and he tells me it's only 400 meters to go. So I pick up the speed. At least I think I do... at least I pass runner no. 9 again, round the corner... can see the finish, sprint sprint sprint.... pass the finish at 40:37 and HR182. That's disappointing. Oh well, I had a great run:)

And son no.1? He ran his race quite comfortably, so he said. Finishing in 31:10min. Counting 107 runners he passed on his way. :)

1K = 6:24 / HR164 (going out too fast)
2K = 6:24 / HR172 (bridge no. 1)
3K = 6:44 / HR174 (bridge no. 2)
4K = 6:36 / HR173
5K = 6:18 / HR175 (bridge no. 3)
6K = 6:24 / HR174
last 300 meter sprint 1:47 / HR182

And we got Brooks running gloves at the finish. Great day.

Hi Carla,

I've only been running for not even a year yet. There are far more experienced runners here who could give you much better advice. For what it's worth, make sure you've fueled up properly, do a warm up before you run, stay at the back of the pack when you start and try not to go out too fast. And above all else, enjoy yourself. I make up little things along the way, like roping the runner in front of me and pulling him in so I can pass him, or visualising that I'm this big strong locomotive with a cartoon face on the front smiling all the way but working hard. Or sometimes I play this tape of a marathon I watched on TV and I follow along. It all works for me.

Good morning -

Well - yesterday I did Muscle Max - I really liked the workout and had no issues with the music either. Today I am thinking Low Max - I am really looking forward to trying this workout....

Have a great day!

Hello Everyone,

I will be doing PS Legs & Abs and some cardio today. Hopefully I will be able to preview some of the HC today. Didn't have the chance yesterday.

Have a great day!

This morning was 20 min of step, a coremax section, and a stretch max section. It was nice to take it easy! Maybe tomorrow will be a lowmax or imax 3.
All of you runners out there are such an inspiration to me! I am just not a runner at heart. My sister is currently training for the LA marathon an I am amazed at her dedication and endurance.

Wendymin, if you drink water on an empty stomach you will be amazed at how much you can drink in one sitting. Sometimes I fill up a 20ounce glass with water and just chug it down within one minute--It is great to think that I have just taken in almost one third of my daily goal! (Although, I suspect, it is better to drink little bits throughout the day)

Ciao Tutti!

LowMax for me today with CoreMax #1 and CoreMax#2. I loved, loved, loved LowMax. The choreography was easy to grasp, but the workout is harder than it looks. All in all, a fun workout and boy did I work up a sweat. I also had no problems with the music, as it was very easy to follow Cathe's cues.

CoreMax #1 was a good, thorough ab workout. I liked it, and had no problem completing the exercises as presented.

CoreMax #2 on the stability ball. Now that was a whole different story. I'll have to work harder on mastering this one.

Tammy

Hi Ladies,

All the talk about running makes me want to get out and do some running, but it's dark and cold here in the morning and I refuse to go out in the dark by myself. Spring will be here soon.

I haven't noticed any issues with the music. I must admit that I workout for the workout and not the music. I just have a cheap tv and dvd player. I haven't tried it on my computer, it has better sound.

I did gym style legs today and core max #1. The leg workout is deceptive. I'll probably take the dogs out for an hour walk on the trails, it's supposed to be nasty here tomorrow.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Tracy

Today was Gym Style triceps (not chest work) and Gym Style Legs topped off with Stretch # 3 from Stretch Max. After I posted my workout yesterday (Step Blast and Pyramid Biceps up and down) I added the 15 minute Leg conditioning drills from Kick Max.:) No issues with the music on my set either and I don't have anything fancy.

Decided it wasn't a good idea to 'lurk':)
I feel more obligated to get my workouts done by posting:p
Just won't be able to be as 'chatty':-(

Completed one hour cardio: hi/lo of MIC and P90 Sweat (boy, I could feel that one in my thighs!) Plus yoga

Have a nice evening
Lisa

Hi everyone,

I haven't been able to workout for a few days. I went to my doctor and they found an infection in my bladder and the antibiotics he put me on have made me SOOO nauseous;( . All I've done for the past few days is sleep and lay on the couch.

Thank goodness I'll be done with them on Tuesday so hopefully I'll be able to workout on Wednesday. I miss my Cathe!!!:(

Have a great night,

Hi everyone,
Today was High Step Challenge and I absolutely LOVED this workout!! What a gem:7 :7 While I think that HSTA is a very good workout, I think high step challenge blows it way out of the water!! The music and the variety kept me super motivated throughout the entire workout; the best part was that there weren't any endless leg presses}( :D! I can't wait to do this one again:)

Wendybdh, oh sorry to hear about the bladder infection:-( I hope you feel better really soon!!! Get plenty of rest and liquids and you will be working out with Cathe again in no time:)

Wendymin, let me know how you like the Eating for Life book when you get a chance....I've heard about that book and would like an opinion before I get it!!

Dutchie, all in all sounds like a great race you ran, good for you!!! And it's awesome that you ran it with your son:7

Tammy, I love Lowmax too and you are so right the workout is definitely harder than it looks, that's for sure!!

Lisa, wow that was a great workout!!

Tracy I haven't had a chance to do gym style legs yet.....what did you think of it?? I am going to try to get that one in sometime this week....do you have L&G and/or LL?? If so I'm wondering how it compares.

Have a great sunday night :)

Today I did MIC. Isn't that a good little workout!? Tomorrow I get my HCs! I have planned the C&W upper body premix tomorrow, then HC's all week.

Have a good week everyone!

Sandy,

The EFL book was good reading...now I just have to put it to work for me...I need to really go over the recipes and stock up on some ingredients so that I can start using them. I'm gonna try to follow his plan loosely in the meantime with what I have on hand and see how it goes...It sounds quite doable though.

Have a great work out!
