Attention Cathe Live subscribers, on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 9:30 am EST, we’ll be doing “Cycle Circuit” LIVE. Get ready to dive into this high energy workout. Be prepared to get on and off your bike as you do four circuits. Each circuit consists of an intense cycle challenge immediately followed by an intense upper body weight challenge (off your bike).

I don't recall ...it was probably before I got a spin bike. Can't beat the low-zero impact intensity of a spin bike for arthritic knees for cardio. And using it in a circuit instead of a step is a nice twist!
Very nice twist:) I must confess,I am excited to see Cathe offering an on-off cycling circuit.
More upcoming goodies coming.

spinning is literally zero impact. Variety is great and I am grateful for being able to do both step and spinning.

Let's not forget some can not spin for various knee problems.

Cathe, I hope you will do another Cycle Circuit # 2 class like this down the road, same
time frame, 40ish minutes with the same cycle/weights time ratio. with different upper
body combos, etc….This was so much fun & a new & different workout to have in the
library!
 
I love that Peloton offers Boot Camps on the bike, tread and row. They mix it up with upper body, lower body and full body classes as well as just core. They also have 50-50 classes. First half on the equipment, second half strength. Another good option if you don’t like making lots of transitions.

The circuit format was a nice change! Hoping she does a lower body and core too.

What are the transitions like? Are they seamlessly layered to keep the heart rate high? The workout has to remain realistic
I have never tried peloton bootcamp but I know some of workout enable exercisers to change shoes - - - from bike shoes to normal. I am wondering about those breaks.
 
The changing from bike to floor and vice versa, IMO, seamless. Off bike to get weights
and put weights back to get on bike. No wasting of time, No changing of shoes, Cathe keeps everything standing & upper body because she notes that some people may be in the clip-in shoes. Of course, your lower body is getting a workout from cycling.

I used to have the Peloton app, and used their different Bootcamp classes. I stopped with the app a couple
years ago for alot of different reasons. Just turned into workouts I didn't enjoy any longer. Different strokes
for different folks! :)

If I am only spinning then I use my clip-in shoes. If I'm using the bike for a warm-up for weight work or for a circuit as in KCM or MM workouts (& now Cathe!) I wear my regular trainers and use the strap side of my spin bike pedals. It's quicker and seamless that way.

I'll have to check that out. I wonder if others offer similar. I've heard KCM has some RAW that are similar.
 
OH yeah, Mindy! Thanks for reminding me, I think I still have some of her workouts like that, although the
ones I have (had) were the on/off type. I know there was one that I liked where she used tubing/gliding discs
for the "off bike" segments. Gotta see if I can find it. Yes, KCM has a Ripped & Ride series in her app
where you are on/off bike, as in this one. I know in those, at least in a few of them, one person uses the
bike for the cardio sections and she shows low impact options on the floor, if you don't have or want to
use the bike and you can also change it up yourself, use the bike for one segment, next time, do the
low impact floor, etc. But again, it's off/on.....I feel that's part of the fun, the transition, I'm weird that way!
The Hydrow rowing circuits are that way, maybe 2-3 min on rower, then a weights EMOM/AMRAP
segment, back on rower, off again for another go at the weights, etc. Too much fun!
 
I haven't checked out KCM in awhile ... I wonder if you can purchase a download of her RAWs like you can Cathe's LIVE. Will have to check her site too ...

ETA: Nope. She sells some RAW workouts on dvds, but I couldn't find any possibility of downloading a different RAW as in CL. Her monthly subscription is ~$9 ... was thinking maybe for December but then remembered LMR2 will most likely be available by then. ;):)
