Good morning to everyone else.

This weather change is throwing me for a loop. My head is stuffed up today and I keep sneezing. Today's workout is upper body. I think I'll do the Gym Styles this week, but it will need to be after work today.

Eating - one problem that I'm having is getting in meal #6 lately. Seems I'm forgetting that after dinner snack.

Can anyone else wait until school is over? The end of the year is so busy with the extra school stuff of projects and assemblies. We're looking forward to the end, but my kids go until June 13. DS is keeping track of the days already.

Off to take a shower and clear the head. Hope you all have a great day (and get in that last meal)!

Stephanie-Man i wish i had a HRM for my workout yesterday because i sure enough burned some major calories!

Today is my Doctors appoitment about my sore throat and other issues im having! I woke up this morning with my nose all stuffy x(. Im thinking its allergies! Im going to rest today,no workout.

Anybody here eat any protein bars besides the myoplex ones? I wonder if BSN makes a protein bar? (guess i could go find out right quick,LOL)

ETA-Sherry,Gayle we must of posted at the same time!

Hey Sherry-so this weather is getting to you too.I hope your nose clears up soon! I too can't wait until the end of the year,my DD has until the end of may!

Gayle-Great job on LM last night,i haven't done that one in a while! Im trying to give my knees a break right now! Are you still watching Survivor? It getting interesting,don'tcha think?

Sherry-ME ME ME! I really do NOT like these last few weeks of school. We've got 7 weeks yet (June 17). Why can't they do some of these activities DURING the school year?

OK...last night I set my goal to be in the basement by 5:30. I did better than that! I was in the basement and the clock read 5:16am!!! WOO HOO! That meant I didn't feel rushed at ALL during my workout...Low Max. I hvaen't done this one in ages! WOW! I was going to tack on abs, but I SOOOOOOO want to do Tracey's new Core Blast, so I decided to wait and see if it comes in today's mail. If not, I'll do abs later with something else!

OK...off to shower. We've got a quiet day and evening...no practice/games. SO's DS plays tonight so we'll go watch that game. HMMMMM...what to make the kids for dinner!

Amelia-keep us posted on how today's appt goes, ok? As for protein bars, I really like the Myoplex Lite or EAS AdvantEdge Carb Control bars the most. Snickers Nutrition is another one I like. SURVIVOR....oh yeah, those girls are getting nasty now! Can't WAIT to see what happens next. Ozzy getting blind-sided was one thing, but then Jason was stupid enough to not play his idol. He should have seen it coming! lol GO GIRLS!

Hey Amelia: Good luck with the doctor appointment today. I hope that you feel better soon. I went to bed at 7:30 last night because I was coming down with a sore throat as well. Darn! I thought I was going to skip this winter unscathed by illness!
I feel better this morning but have little aches here and there. Maybe a good stretch will help.

Liann: Just wanted to congratulate you on your recent weight loss! Great job!

Terrible day yesterday! Too much work so I never got to get in my workout. By last night I was wiped out and went to bed really early.

Sorry this is a quickie post for now, I'll catch up on yesterday's thread too and do personals later.

This morning I did all three standing segments of Tracey's Core Blast (yep, I got it Gayle!) + RPM 31 (Les Mills Spinning DVD) + first segment of Cathe's Total Body Stretching.

Are we only doing calories burned on Mondays? I'm confused (which isn't unusual, lol). Oh man, can I count next Sunday's marathon on Monday because it should be about 2400 calories (he,he). I'm definitely resting on Monday. ;)

Good morning ladies! I am definitely feeling it from doing Tracey's CoreBlast yesterday. That workout definitely targeted the entire core area all the way around. I really feel it all through my back as well. For some reason I always think of core as just the ab muscles, but of course the back in part of that whole "center" area. I think Tracey did a good job of hitting it all. My DH was laughing at me when I was doing the planks though. He knows how much I hate those. ;)

Stephanie - I'm up for another Monday count. This time I'll wear my heart monitor for EVERYTHING. ;)

Sherry - The weather here is nasty too and I am also all stopped it. It can't decide whether it wants to be cold/hot or what... Hope you feel better soon. :)

Gayle - Good job at being up early and ready to go in the basement by 5:16 a.m.! I WISH I could be a morning exerciser, but I just can't drag myself out of bed. My weiner dog Dakota sleeps with me and we are always so comfy all snuggled up sharing the same pillow that I just can't make myself get up any earlier than I have to. ;)

Amelia - This is definitely the time for allergies, especially with all the pollen in the air. Hope the doctor is able to help you out! I am on allergy shots, but when the pollen count gets particularly high, Alavert works really well for me. You can get that over the counter now I believe.

Heidi - I hope you do not come down sick as well! It's probably a good thing that you just skipped your workout and went to bed. I hope you are feeling better today!

I’m back, lol.

Gayle – I really liked the standing portion she does variations of oblique and standing core work. The med ball segment was good but I used my 6 lb ball and definitely need to bump it up to the 8 lb. next time. I’m going to try three more segments tomorrow. :) I have one of the older Garmin’s (201, I’m pretty sure that’s the number). It doesn’t have the heart monitor feature (plus it’s HUGE!) I really should use it more often.

Stephanie – Enjoy your run! I usually only wear my HR monitor during strength or cardio (most people only use it for cardio but as you can see….you burn some great calories with weight training too!) I believe that some models of HR monitors will only calculate calories burned above a certain HR number (90-100 bpm) but my F11 seems to calculate all the time. I may have to look that up to be sure.

Sherry – I hope the weather clears up for you soon! DS can hardly wait until the school year is over. I can’t believe he’ll only have one left after that (he’s a junior in HS now). My other son has college courses until mid May and then he has a short break until the Summer semester starts (I think he’s only taking a class or two though).

Amelia – Oh my, hopefully the doctor will prescribe a good antihistamine for you. I have bouts of sinusitis and I know it’s horrible. I like a couple of bars in particular (I get them at Target because they’re cheaper than anywhere else). Clif Mojo bars aren’t as high in protein but they’re mostly organic with no fake stuff or high fructose syrup plus they taste great! I also like the Target brand (I think it’s called Market Place or something like that) in Strawberry and Choc PB flavors.

Heidi – I hope today s less stressful for you! A good stretch is always nice!

Carolyn – I like the Polar heart rate monitors. They have several different models to choose from that do more or less functions. I have an F11 because it came with a wearlink chest strap that’s pretty comfortable and not too binding. They also make an F4 and an F6 that come with the plastic chest strap and don’t do a couple of function that the F11 does (but if you don’t use them, you really don’t need them). ;) I think most of the Sporting Goods stores carry them now as well as Target. Oh, and reading about your DH’s bike accident yesterday kind of scared me, lol. That’s one of my fears on the bike, not stopping in time and really hurting myself again! I don’t blame him for not getting on a bike again, I will NEVER play volleyball again after tearing my ACL!

Hi Michelle, Sue, and Melissa! Melissa, I’m so sorry you felt a bit down about not getting in the RT. :( Michelle is enabling me to buy some tanner now…..:p

Liann – I burned about 2200 - 2300 calories on my last run of 22 miles so I think the marathon will be a little more. This will be my 3rd marathon since Nov 2005 and I’m getting excited! Now you really got me wanting to give the rest of Core Blast a try!

Back from my workout.

Decided once I got down in the basement that I would do yesterday’s planned workout instead.
PUB I stayed with my current weights on this one. 12, 15 and 17.5#’s.

I tried to use my Garmin 305 with the heart rate monitor and the Multisport function…but I had so many distractions with the phone that I messed up whether it was timing or not.
Forget about calories burned it didn’t include this at all.

For the time that was logged:
12:58 min
HR 83-111bpm

I guess like Gayle we will be fiddling with this device to make it work for what we want to record.

DD is home today and wants to go running in our usual place at Ravenswood Park We haven’t been there in awhile together and she loves this eerie kind of weather.

Hi Kathy: Great workout today. Sooo how did you like that ab workout?
Talk about enablers....You have me looking hard at this ab routine and Michelle for the self tanner!

Gayle and Michelle: Does this tanner make your hands/feet orange? Would you advise me on whether this would work for a really pale person as well. Did you buy the pack (tanner,scrub and face tanner)?
What did you think of the others if you did?

Hi Liann: Hey at least you did the planks! Right! Those planks are hard and work your abs good. Next time make your DH do them with you then see who is doing the complaining.

Kathy** Thanks for asking! Alesia feels the same! The doc. thinks it's the medication! The doctor wanted her to come in this morning, but Alesia has finals this week! She is stressing on top! That doesn't help! I just got a really bad nose bleed from the dry air here in El Paso! I will wait 1 hour before I start my workout!

Heidi - I really liked it so far! I think I'll combine a standing section with other sections though so it feels more intense. ;) Glad you got your workout in today. Yep, see....some monitors won't pick up a lower heart rate for some reason. :(

Belinda - I hope the doc gets Alesia's medication adjusted so she feels better. Awwww, poor girl has to go through this AND the stress of finals! :(

Hi everyone!

My thighs and buns are SCREAMING w/DOMS today...:7 Not sure if it's from the CC workout or the BFL, but I'm happy! I took advantage of Coach Sean's offer and donated $20 to the 3-Day to get three CC's. I already have 1 so I went with 2, 3 and 4. Now to download them on DD's iPod without her noticing..}( I only have the shuffle. Yeah, DD has the Nano and I only have a shuffle...

M#1: applesauce banana bread & scrambled eggs (3 whites/1 whole)
M#2: apple & 1/4 c walnuts
M#3: salad w/1 can white tuna
M#4: 1/2 c oatmeal, 1/3 c skim, 1/4 c walnuts & cinammon
M#5: 1/2 c pasta, sauteed veggies & grilled chicken
M#6: banana & 1T natural pb

I really have to invest in a new barbell. My 5-footer is just becoming a nuisance with the extra clips. They keep getting in the way whenever I try to re-load it on the squat rack. I really don't want to get a 7-footer so I might try a 6 and see if it works. I measured it out last night and it looks like it might. That will be my weekend project.

Sorry - but I have to post quick -- been busy today -- but I couldn't resist posting about Dave's Tanner and Survivor!! :)

Dave's Tanner - yes it will color your hands -- so make sure to wash them REALLY good. Then I use a make up sponge and put some on the tops of my hands. I'm also pale -- really pale -- blonde, blue eyes -- so YES it works on pale gals!! Like I said, the quickest way to look leaner is a tan!! :)

Survivor -- Okay - I was also screaming at the TV. Amanda and James were trying to figure out how to save themselves -- all they had to do was tell Jason about the plan, have Jason play the idol, and Amanda, James and Jason could have voted for either Pavarti or Natalie! Now THAT would have been funny!!!
