Good evening FnV and Deanna -
FnV - I am so happy to hear that your knee is feeling better. And I am very proud of you for continuing to work out even though you are injured. That's a great idea... to do one body part per day with the Slow & Heavy series. That series is looking very tempting to me. I love the slow pace. As I said, I'm a stickler for form, so the slow pace of that series is much more appealing to me than some of the other - faster - ones.
Congratulations on slurping your water !!! You know how our Deanna is about us and our water

And it's a good thing that she is.... I wouldn't be drinking as much, Deanna, if you weren't reminding me about it.
Deanna - putting my mother/grandmother hat on - I'm not thrilled with the idea of you trying to lose 10 lbs in a week. I just don't think that's healthy, but you are a smart woman. I know you'll read the diet and modify it to make it healthy. We didn't gain the weight overnight and we aren't going to get rid of it overnight either.
I don't mind sharing my current weight and goal. I'm also about 5'6" - 5'7". I haven't had my height measured in years. So we'll call it 5'6 1/2"
I was thin all my life .... 118 pounds in college... 123 - 125 in my 20s and 30s .... about 133 - 135 in my 40s.... are we sensing a trend here????? lol
After my divorce 20 years ago - at age 46 - I gained 30 pounds in 3 years. And in the 17 years since then, I've gained about 1 pound per year for a total of another 15 pounds...
I officially weighed myself on Monday, August 29th - 182 lbs.

Goal = 135 That's where I feel "normal".. where my clothes fit properly.
I can't believe that I've let myself gain so much weight and get so out of shape. I've always been active - ever since I was a little kid - swimming, bicycling, tennis, golf and lots and lots of walking.
Now I don't do any of those things. But... I have been going to the gym for a little over a year. 6 days a week doing 3 or 4 miles a day of walking on the treadmill and taking a once a week class of tai chi/yoga/pilates mixed.
However - I did not change how I was eating ...... so in that entire year of going to the gym, I didn't lose an ounce. And... I wasn't doing any weight training. A few biceps and triceps and that was it....
So.... weight training and healthy eating are my mantras for the future !!!
We CAN do this !!! We ARE doing this !!!
Go Team !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See ya in the morning....
