Baby foxes - CUTE!!!

Just thought I would share a little wildlife with you all! We discovered that we have a den of foxes living in our pasture. Yesterday my DH saw them, then we went to take pictures last night. There are 7 of them!! Very cute, but I'm worried what they will do when they grow up, what they will eat?!? Hoping they don't like cats!!

I posted pictures on my web site, check them out!

Awww! They are sooo cute! :)

I don't know what foxes eat, but I would be worried too. If you have cats, you may want to keep them inside until the foxes move on. I am pretty sure they are carnivores.

OMG, they are sooooo cute!

Wow, I would be worried about the cats, though. Even if they don't eat them, they might "play" with them.... you know, the way cats "play" with mice! lol

They like to eat rabbits, mice, voles, all those little field rodents. Cats could be a possibility (though not first choice unless they're hungry).

We had a family of foxes that lived in the field across the street when I was a kid. They never bothered our cats. But I remember a horrible day when one of them caught a little bunny rabbit. Ugh.

Those babies sure are cute!

We have coyotes in the woods behind my house, so I learned to keep my white cat's in the very hard way. My black cat is so mean & tough, he's been around longer than I have.

Anyway, I guess that was off topic. Sorry.:p

Edie:

Do you see rabbits? I was wondering because I had an issue with my rabbit and thought maybe you could give me some insight as to what happenend with his health.

They are adorable. Altho I'd worry about the cats tho. I know coyotes will and do eat the wild cats in our neighborhood.

Oh they are cute!! BUt, i'm such a chicken when it comes to wildlife like that. I don't know why, foxes, coyotes, bears, raccoons, possums, groundhogs etc... they all scare the heck out of me.

;(

They now have pet foxes that you can bring into your homes. They're a different breed than what's hanging out in your fields, but they are just SOOOO cute. They guy I saw selling them at our town's annual Pet Show last year says that they're as nice a cats as pets. They're better in that they don't scratch up your furniture. But you can't let them get out of your house because they probably won't come back.

I guess I wouldn't feel right about having a pet that didn't come home. It's like you're holding it prisoner, you know?

Sometimes we get coyotes near our house. One day we saw one in the backyard and I think our cats were outside. I was very nervous until I saw them come home.

Mostly, though, we just get turkeys and deer. And rabbits. And ducks. And sloths. And oragutans....sorry...there I go into my Monty Python again.

Oh, that's horrible! I think wild animals should remain wild. (And nothing can be as nice as cats as pets. ;-) ) Cats and dogs have been domesticated for hundreds if not thousands of years, so they "belong" with us. Foxes and other wild animals belong in the wild (no matter how cute they are: I saw a fox close-up years ago when I was living on a hobby farm. Soo cute!).

One of my colleagues once had a "pet" raccoon (which is illegal, by the way, because it's a wild animal). He had to get rid of it when it grew up because he feared for his cats' safety.

I feel the same way Kathryn. There are so many cats and dogs that NEED homes, why force a wild animal to be a pet??

Anyway, off the topic, the foxes are still cute as can be. In pictures and from a distance LOL
