40s chillin in the week of 12/11/11

Good Morning,

I didn't get a workout in last night by the time I went to the grocery store, and fixed supper it was late and then DD wanted me to go to Target with her. My knee was hurting anytime I bent it and its swollen today, and the calf muscles still hurt. Tonite is Imax 3 step only those blasts look like killers.

Jody-apparently I like to carry the TM not run on it.

Lisa-hope your leg gets better. I tried to match her wts. on PUB and I am still sore.

Ronne-it hurts more now then it did when I did it.

Mary-I was thinking the same thing you are time to start planning my menu for christmas. We are going to DH's family for lunch and gifts then my kids are coming over christmas night for supper and gifts.
 
Trisets UB completed! Good thing I did UB, the muscle along the outside of my leg near my knee hurts when I move a certain way, hopefully it's better by tomorrow, it certainly doesn't sound as bad as Roxie's!

Jody, it all depends on how they've put in the chapter points in RS for the download version. Sometimes you can only just take out one combo, I guess that's not much different than fast forwarding? I have the setup for downloads, I just find it more of a pain to play the workout in the setup I have than just popping in a DVD. This is something I will need to get over in the future.

Mary, Menu? Oh ya, that holiday IS coming up rather fast! DS22 actually asked me before I even thought about it when are we doing Xmas dinner.

Ronne, oh how I need to be on a belt tightening for thrift! We are going to look for a Nook Tablet for DS19 for college. He's been selected for a research project on heart stents, they want commitment for 3 yrs. He has 7 PDFs to read on the heart and wants to take notes, but it's toooooo much paper to print out, so thinking of Nook Tablet will be able to take notes on it while reading the pdf. After that we need to stop spending!!!!! DH spent $200 on ammo for shooting while I was gone, OMG! Aw, enjoy the concert, do you all have elementary graduation ceremonies at the end of the school year? I cried at my first borns...what a sap I am!

Better go to work, boss is out so I've been working from home, plus we are down to one car while the van is in the body shop to get the key marks fixed that the idiot vandalized while we were in the store this summer after we simply tooted the horn to let him know we were pulling in the parking space since his door was wide open. That's another $500 (and ins pays $500 and ins shouldn't go up since they classified it as vandalism).
 
Hi all. We still do not have Internet but we are still getting the run around. :-0 The sunroom is still out of whack, but I decided to share the basement with the kids and I moved 90% of their stuff down there - with my exercise stuff. DH's stuff and some miscellaneous stuff is getting kicked to the sunroom. Mostly the storage bins and holiday stuff will be in there.
To add insult to injury, the cold I have been keeping at bay is fighting real hard to get me. Suggestions?

Lisa - is that option cheaper than buying a version of Adobe that lets you write on pdfs? You're the tech queen so I'm sure you know about this. Ammo? Wow, that's very American!!! ;)

Murphy - citrus fruit! Only thing that works for me!

Jody - what's BB? I can't think! I very rarely match Cathe on weights and certainly never on biceps.

Roxie - take it easy with that knee - you don't want to be laid up for Christmas!

Work has really picked up and I've got a couple of deadlines before I finish for Christmas on Monday. Did S&G cardio and abs - my first attempt at it. Quite liked it but I think it will take a while to get used to. I found that the bottom of my right foot was a bit painful - felt like I was trying to grip on so it hurt. Liked the ab section and stretch.
 
Hey, I did Body Blast Timesaver (BB) 2 this morning. Even tho they are new to me, its Cathe style I already know and I am finding them easy to get in, plus there is a big fun factor.

someone asked what I am going to do with my free time...get my groove back!

Murphy, hope you are feeling better. Sounds like you have a chaotic Dec going.

My knee is definetly bruised it showed up this morning. Tonite for me is Kickmax timesaver. My calves are still hurting but I know they will loosen up eventually.

Ronne-S&G is a tough one with all those burpees and trying to control the discs.
 
Morning! Did 5 miles on TM. Got a little shopping done yesterday, back out again today! Ronne, I'm not very graceful with the discs yet, still very awkward! Roxie, take care of that knee. Amazing you could step with it. Murphy, hope you are feeling better. DH takes zicam, always gives me a terrible taste in my mouth. Jody, I never clicked with the timesaver DVD. Was up at 3:30am, DH's alarm went off (he has those stupid 4am conf calls with Australia and other US people). Turns out only 2 Australians was on call, so not sure what the purpose of waking me up is! Anyway, did LB trisets and TF HIIT 20 min. There was those elevated lunges that bothered my pulled muscle in my left leg when I fell 2 days ago so I didn't do them on the left side and now I'm feeling it more, I was careful not to push into the pain but to stop instead so I don't think I injured anything more.

Ronne, when I do S&G, for the abs part where you plank, walk, push-up, I don't push-up I just hold the plank. Good for you and having work---that'll give you $ for the holidays!

Roxie, I hate burpees and mountain climbers, I can't do them all (and I don't feel guilty either!)

Mary, you are a crazy lady hitting those stores at this time of year. glad to see someone has taken up shopping since I've stopped now that I'm back home!

Murphy, how's the setup working out? did you get a workout in?

Jody, how are you gonna get your groove back? ;)

Did CSS today. Glad to report that it wasn't as hard as last time. It was still really tough but didn't feel quite as wiped out. I did the cross country bit as high impact as I just couldn't do them on the discs - think I'll have to practise that. I noticed Brenda can't do them either, so I'm not alone.
Had a terrible night's sleep. DD's got a rotten cold and was up till 11.30 then I just couldn't seem to sleep properly. Work and school nearly over though then I can catch up!

Good morning! Did LICH premix 5 this morning. Very challenging to me for some reason, was watching that clock a lot! Ronne, I noticed Brenda having trouble with those also. Those are easier for me than the jumping jacks. On those I'm just sliding around! Hope DD feels better, now you know she won't be sick for the holiday? Just as long as you stay away from her! Roxie, how is your knee? Calves? Lisa, how are feeling? Get any sleep? Murphy, everything in order? Jody, did you do another Timesaver? I am not done shopping! I did LIC today with the ab part too. I used 2 risers (normally I always only use 1, but I'm trying with the low impact ones to use )makes it tougher, my my leg isn't used to to lifting that high :) Maybe that contributed to why I crashed earlier in the week :) How many risers does everyone else use? Am I the only weenie?

I'm also trying to do low impact stuff and hopefully my leg doesn't hurt anymore from my crash since we are going skiing Monday. For the most part my leg/knee is ok until I turn it a certain way. I do have DOMS in the glutes and hams from yesterday LB triset.

Ronne, that is a good idea about adobe, but there is nothing more unpleasant that reading on the computer, that's one reason for a tablet, the other IS just the inner geek :) I am in the office and I did not sleep very late either :( woke up for some reason at 3am. why is it when I CAN sleep something wakes me and when I CAN'T sleep there is no reason for me to be up anyway? Tomorrow I will work from home, hopefully the van will be all fixed and we can pick it up in time for our ski trip, otherwise it will be the hybrid trying to get up the mountains! :) I hope you don't end up sick! Keep the germs in Europe, k? Ammo sounds american? I think it sounds "redneck" (ie. hillbillies)

Mary, what is the cross country part? I need to make sure to look at Brenda. I find myself moving back on the jumping jacks (just when Cathe says to be careful of that too). You sound like a shopping fiend!

Roxie, good job doing the workouts with a bruised knee, is it getting better? that TM is a doozy, especially when not using it the proper way! :p How's the dizziness? I've had balance issues the last couple of mornings, I figure it's just cuz I'm half asleep, but then I do have a slight headache too for some reason so I just feel 'out of sorts'.

better get, I'll check back in later to see if anything is going on. Maybe Mary will finally decide on what to buy and report in her deals :)
 
Hi all. I am feeling better off and on. Thanks for all the well wishes. I got some sleepthese last few nights so that was good. Now DD is claiming to be sick too. Ugh, I cannot take it. I still do not have the Internet, hopefully within the next week or so. I noticed a few late shoppers out there.
I guess I won't say anything about having been done with my shopping before Thanksgiving. I like to have things paid for and usually wrapped by Thanksgiving so that I don't have to worry about things or feels that holiday stress. We are hosting dinner so I am sure the stress will still arrive for the holiday. I guess I should be more positive than that. :)
 
Hi, yes I completed another BB TS today, more core work on ball but I quite enjoyed it today, but I was a little trippy on choreog. I think I am going to bike to library and pick up a diet book, too. : )

Mary, be careful not to let perfection issues stress you out this holiday! I dislike shopping for the same reason you mention- I say, pull the trigger, wrap it up and grab some egg nog!

Ronne, I hope dd better, and like someone else said, hopefully all will be well for Christmas. I finished my finals, and all the tutoring sessions yesterday! My dd also finished finals. I ended up w/ A on my final in Stats and A in the class. Probably my hardest earned A so far- and I think most of the students I worked with the past semester did pretty well, too. I really enjoyed them all.

Lisa, I hope you and Roxie keep healing up.

I am happy I am not trying to do any disk work yet but grateful the variety and challenge are waiting for me when I am ready!
