40's April no fooling!

Did KCM Split Sessions UB w/o, then did 30 min of horizontal jumping and then stretching. I really feel my obliques and my lower back area, I think it's from the mermaids on the reformer box (they did a lot, I should have stopped but didn't , it's getting better though. Heard from work, they were planning on start date of 4/21, so not sure why my contracting company gave me 4/9, gads. What a mess! I'm loving my reformer so much I'm wanting to upgrade ( I bought lowest, budget model to see if I would like it, thought I'd only use it for jumping and stretching but now I'm using it for true pilates workouts.)

Mary, congrats to DS!!!! awesome, did he have to have community service too? For my kids they needed that to get in, but back in 'the day' you just needed the grades. The shoes are very comfy, but I can see in hot weather your feet getting sweaty. You don't wear socks with them, but they are machine washable.

Roxie, sounds like you got a good workout in.

Murphy, glad to hear you are doing well, hope the weight stays off, but if it doesn't you can always lose it, we women can do ANYTHING!

Did 60 min on the reformer. I have to walk the dogs later, they have too much energy since they haven't been out since it snowed last 2 days.

Really dreading going back to work next week...

2.85mile walk, nice day

Hello! Did a barre work out today, had to go upstairs because DS had a drum lesson and I had to hide! Lisa, I hear you on the not wanting to go to work! Thanks for the congrats for DS. He has worked so hard, grades, volunteers at the for pantry, he is also his class president. I don't know where he finds the energy! He does cross country, math team and academic team, year book! Ok, I'm done bragging about him! Jody, do you have 2 or 3 more weeks? I have 4 and I'm counting down! Roxie, your wind, snow and cold arrive here! I had to turn the furnace back on! Hi Murphy! Ronne, you back yet? Have to get dinner figured out! Mary

Good Evening,

It made it back up into the lower 50's almost 60 today. DD called today and her DH's family wants to get together in July at the lake so guess who is going to have to workout really hard from now until then. Tonite was KCM Cardio Quick Fix Combined Premix not really a favorite but it was on the schedule so I did it.

Lisa-keep your snow.

Mary-sorry.

Hi everyone

I'm back. Had a nice time with the parents. We had a good day's shopping in Manchester, bought DD loads of summer stuff and also got myself a jumpsuit, rather unexpectedly! Not the sort of thing I normally wear but it just caught my eye: Women's Clothing - Dorothy Perkins It's the one the model on the left is wearing.
Also had a day out at an excellent local museum.

Mary - congrats to DS - not that I really know what it is, but judging by everyone's reactions it's very impressive! You must be very proud.

Murphy - good to hear from you! So glad things are going well and the surgery was a success. I'll be thinking of you as you gradually recover.

Lisa - what are those things?! How can you put them on and not wet yourself laughing? :D Glad to hear the Pilates is still a success.

Roxie - it's always good to have something to aim for!

By the way, I use the bus all the time. DD and I just came home on the bus from the station. I can't believe some of you have never been on a bus before. :)

Did a 60 min reformer w/o, this one was more UB which is good as my LB is tight and sore :) Felt the soreness in obliques and my new fav muscle QL (lower back from last rib down). Will walk the dogs in a bit will go for 2 miles or so.

I found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIcIiFSyK-4
For those not flexible in hamstrings (not ronne :) ), does this help you get more flexibility. I'm not sure it did me, I'm embarrassed to say I can't even get my leg to 90 degrees.

Ronne, Those shoes are the latest thing over here, they are to facilitate barefoot running. I live near a funky college town (Boulder) so we get the weird things first. That's a cute jumpsuit, I think you should have taken a picture of you wearing it!

Mary, my DS was in drumline, one thing that helped tremendously is them practicing on a drumpad (you don't hear the banging then). He played bass and moved up to snare (that's where the drumpad came in handy).

Roxie, it's surely something to work toward.

So, I probably shouldn't admit this. I decided to buy a better reformer since I'm really getting into this type of exercise. I can feel my core is so much stronger. In the beginning, I couldn't get from holding on to getting to a standing position, that's all core getting up! I kinda feel like I wasted money buying the budget model since I'm upgrading, but I justified it to myself as a reward for going back to that hellhole (I mean work). If I work 4 weeks I can have it paid for. I'm hoping I get laid off in 4 weeks then :)

Here is what I got:

This video where it was revealed is awesome, shows how sleek it is. I wished I looked this good on it!

Look at all the things you can do with the footbar at various places (mine currently has only 2 positions-up and down):

Good Afternoon,

Stuck at work today unfortunately but what can you do. I was assigned 3 sets of 1 minute planks everyday by KCM so I did those hear at work and I was able to hold all three planks the entire minute in a pushup position instead of on my forearms so quite pleased with myself. I will do YBB combined premix when I get home. So you guys are probably tired of hearing this but the wind is gusting to 40mph again today, its suppose to be almost 70 then drop to 40 tomarrow.

Lisa-sometimes we have to treat ourselves and you have been through alot.

Hello! Today did KCM, plyometrics. Lisa, you deserve whatever you want! Don't feel bad! You enjoy it and you will use it, money well spent! Roxie, impressive about your planks! I'm still on my forearms, it does make a difference. Ronne, I use to take the bus when I worked downtown, in the city, parking was way too expensive. Now, there is really no bus service to my job. I'm sure if I didn't work in the suburbs it would be different. So glad you had fun with your folks! Hi Murphy and Jody! Just got back from DD's track meet. Another one tomorrow, now getting ready for little one's first band concert, he so nervous! So cute! Have a good evening! Mary

Not much time for personals but wanted to say Yea! to Murphy and Congrats to Mary's kiddos and good luck to little one in band tonight. Ronne, cute outfit! Lisa, it felt like beginnings of summer this week here and you have snow. Roxie, you and me both, (re getting in shape).
I only have about 12 days left of class and obligation. We took practice board exams- go me. Clinicals tomorrow. Busy busy!

Hi all

Jody - good to see you - glad you're just about keeping your head above water! Keep popping in to see us when you can. Good luck with the last few days.

Mary - it never stops with the kids for you, does it? Are they on holiday now? Do you have Easter?

Roxie - congrats on the planks. Handy to have something to do while you're at work!

Lisa - don't feel bad about it. You've proved it's worth it with all the use you've got out of the basic model. Could you sell it on to someone else and get a bit of money back? This is your new exercise system, it's not like it's just going to gather dust or be used as a clothes hanger!

Did KCM Shape Up 1 today. I liked it, nice and simple and effective.
Weather was quite nice today so DD and I took a picnic to the park. Played frisbee and I broke my fingernail right back, so bad it was bleeding! So much for being active!
Easter weekend coming up. DH is off work Friday and Monday so we've got a few things planned. We're going punting tomorrow, haven't been for ages. Should be fun.

Hello all! Today did Ilaria, Atletica. She is amazing! Ronne, what is punting? Enjoy the long weekend! Jody! 12 days! The countdown is on! Think of how much free time you will have? You have worked so hard for so long, you deserve it! Lisa, enjoy your last few days of freedom. When do you get your new toy? Roxie, how's work going for you? Hello Murphy! DS did great last night, he looked so adorable up there counting, I could see his lips moving! Now, off to eat and get to track meet. Oh, eldest DS (sophomore) was asked to prom today!? What to do? The girl is a cougar! (Like me!!!). Any thoughts? Advice? Mary

I did KCM Muscle Def, both w/o's. I'm increasing my UB weigths by 1 to 2 lb and not getting any pain after! Walked the dogs almost 2.5 miles. I see some improvements with my stretches. When sitting with legs straight out, I used to barely be able to touch my toes, I can now hold my foot on the bottom!

Roxie, I saw where KCM told someone that stretching was just as important as working out. So along with planks get some stretching in! I never thought I'd be pushing stretching! I feel much better afterwards, until I tighten all back up again.

Ronne, I'm hoping I can get someone to come workout with me (wishful thinking). For the $$ I could get for it, I'd rather just have another in my w/o area.....soooooo ready to get my big w/o area back! DIL said she'll do pilates with me, I'll believe it when I see it. Young people, think they are so invincible, one day, they'll look back and remember some older person's wise words. that fingernail sounds painful! My fingernails are breaking all over the place, I think DIL roughing them up to put gel nail polish on them really wrecked them!

Jody, wow, the time seemed to fly (for me, I'm sure not for you). What's after the 12 days?

Mary, I saw that you liked my pic on FB. So now I'll toot my horn here. My DS22 graduates from Colorado School of Mines (very tough school), Summa Cum Lauda on May 9th. The Colorado people realize what an accomplishment this is! I loved the comment by one saying 'Impressive'. AFter the kids grow up you won't know what to do with yourself, it will quite a while before that though, so enjoy!

Thanks all for supporting me in my upgrade to my reformer, it does make me feel worthy of it and I'm so happy to have another form of exercise that I like (and that I'm surprised I like--so it was worth testing it out with a budget model!).

Good Evening,

I did the planks this morning then KCM TLC 1 Boxing and Total Body Kickbox 1 and between my shoulder blades is killing me. Smoky here again today I hope the burning ends soon.

Lisa-I know I need to stretch more its just so boring.

Mary-work is work.

Ronne-that is one of the KCM's I don't have.

Hey, next road trip is Daytona. Lisa I'll meet you there and you can combo visit to sis. Who else is joining? You all deserve a vacay.
I think Punting is sort of like canoeing or poling a skinny boat and you have to wear dresses and big hats and the men wear jackets and straw boaters and afterward you have a tea on the lawn, play croquet, and sometimes you tip the boat over and you get soaked to your bloomers.

Ha! I thought punting was putt putt golf!

Jody, I saw Daytona RT and thought of you :) Then I thought of how hard it is to get a spot in the RT (ie. starts at a certain time), and I didn't want to have to play the race to the computer game. I'll go if you get my ticket :) How far are you from Daytona? My sis sold her house and is in a little rental while they renovate their next house so I know I won't be able to stay with her. If you are serious, PM me.

Roxie, I agree stretching is boring, but for me I just didn't seem to make progress until I did it on the reformer it helps to have that extra little resistance to bring you into a deeper stretch.

Survey question, how far can everyone reach when they sit on the floor with legs straight out?

Hello! Today did Mike Donavanick, extreme burn. Ronne, have fun! Kind of reminds me of a gondola ride or paddle boarding. Looks so romantic! Jody, your so smart! You created the perfect picture for me! I would love to go to the road trip, it's a money thing tho. I don't have enough for that! Lisa, I don't think the sign up is as insane as it is for Jersey. You should do it and be our narrator! Roxie, it's Friday! Hi Murphy! Kids just walked in, gotta go! Mary

Did an easier reformer w/o and walked the dogs 1/75 miles. Took it a bit easy, my body just feels tired yet I want to do sooooo much!

Mary, you have such varied w/o's.

Ronne, I'm gonna catch up to you yet! Just an inch or so to go maybe to link my hands together around my feet.

Good Morning,

I did KCM's Power Sculpt, Body Training 2 Pilates, Total Body Stretch and 3 1 minute planks and later DH and I will go for a bike ride if its not to smoky already know its going to be windy. Doing cleanmax then maybe some sun later.
