Due to the P90X craze.:) There have been alot of questions about doing pull-ups. So, I thought I'd post some tips that have helped me.

Here is a link to band assisted pull-ups. This method worked wonders for me. I can now do quite a few pull-ups on my own.

(Remember on this one, that the lighter the band the harder it is, the heavier the band the easier it is).

Here is another great link. I'm thinking Step 2. assisted, will be a good option for some.

You can also use your pull-down machines and bowflex type machines that have pull-down options.

Feel free to post any other tips you have, here.

Thanks for the link. I purchased the exact resistance band from jump stretch, and wasn't sure how to use it.

Women's Health just ran an article on how to train the body to perform pull ups. Basically its the same info already noted. They have you start with "one and a quarter" lat pulldowns for week 1&2 then hammercurls for week 3&4 to pullups with a band for week 5&6 to decending (negative) pullups taking 30+seconds to lower yourself for week 7&8.

I just received P90X and would like some advice on pull up bars. The one from Beachbody looks really nice. Does anyone have it?

Thanks!

Heavy lifting. Upper body strength. Time. That did it for me ;)

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was sixty. She's ninety-seven now, and we don't know where the hell she is.
