Traildoggie

Cathlete
Good morning in a new week.

Judy let us know how your DH is doing.

this is out of order. this dog has met us many times, and we are good friends with the owners, and he comes up to you like he is friendly and maybe he might be.... but maybe not too! I just looked at him in his crate while getting my poles out of the tailgate, and he seriously growled at me. I'm not wimpy around dogs either but this one is just unpredictable. they kennel him when they have guests for dinner rather than watch him every second.

diane sue that is a total deal breaker. any dog that will go after a cat or another dog is a risk with children too, especially if its a guest or a friend of your children. I would not trust them with an adult person either. plenty of nice dogs in the world.

Today I did STS 2 Body Parts Triceps+ bonus 45 minutes, 109 calories, 94/131 heart rate. I then did STS 2 foam rolling mish mosh skipping the last move as I had a call and something I had to do. This was 29 minutes, 47 calories. Total time was 74 minutes, 156 calories.

Judy, I am sorry that your husband had emergency surgery. I hope he gets to go home soon.

Carolyn, nice work on Cardio Quick Fix and Upper foam rolling. I like the upper portion. I don't think I care much for the mish mosh. It left out a couple of the moves that I really like using.

Valerie, that is nice that you got to go for a ride with your neighbors. I would not have a dog that I had to worry about it turning on someone. Maybe a burglar, but she would probably expect petting. She does growl if someone is in our yard that she does not know and barks at them, but she will run in the house to let me know something is going on.

Cathy, it is interesting how some dogs have odd personalities. I always prefer having one as a pup so I can work with it. We had a German shepherd once that got along okay with the family, but after it killed a cat and bit it's head nearly off, we got rid of her. My children were all small then.

Chris will be in the hospital until Tuesday. He is on IV antibiotics and is in a lot of pain from the surgery. I spent Friday night at the hospital and most of yesterday. I came home last night but will be going back up this morning. He will be ok but it's been rougher on him than I expected. I might try to get a short workout in later today or tonight but I was so exhausted last night that I couldn't even think about working out.

I once worked at a Boarding kennel and was attacked by a Golden Retreiver-it was unprovoked and I had to go to ER-my coworker then told me that the same dog attacked her and another girl but my Boss wouldn’t allow them to tell owner and she continued to allow the dog to board there since the owner boarded the dog for weeks at a time and she made good money-now I’m terrified of loose dogs and never feared dogs before

Today was Body Parts Legs with bonus and I followed it with the lying stretch from Step Boss. I think I may create a blender workout with that combo as it worked really well.

I think if we hadn't had children we could have worked with the herding dog as he was fine with adults and just wanted to herd smaller things. The dogs I have all came as adults and two worked out well, though the boys were never fond of the one we had when they were born because she was a food thief and stealing food from little kids was a piece of cake for her. The other problem dog we had was a basset hound who just showed up at our house every time he ran away. The dog came two miles and crossed a main country road numerous times. After the first time calling animal control, I got the owners number and would just call her. After nearly a year, her parents got tired of dealing with it and we decided to take the dog. Basset hounds are a world unto themselves. When loose it's nose to the ground and they are gone. But, keeping him separate from the cats got to be too much and then one of Derek's friends accidentally freed a cat and that was when we gave up. I was able to give the humane society very detailed info on both dogs so they could be placed in as good a situation as possible for them.

Carolyn great job with KCMs Cardio Quick Fix and foam rolling. Sounds like you have your hands full with your dog. Those situations are such an emotional roller coaster. I don't think I could work at a boarding facility. I've known way too many unpredictable dogs.

Valerie safe travels. Glad you got another ride in before you were leaving.

Diane Sue great job with STS 2 Body Parts Triceps+ bonus and foam rolling.

Judy I hope Chris continues to improve and can go home Tuesday.

Today I did Jane Adams yoga for 18 minutes.

Judy, I’m sorry that Chris is in so much pain. Surgery is hard on the body. A short workout might help relieve some stress.

Diane Sue, great job with Body Parts Triceps+bonus, and Foam Rolling Mish Mosh. The upper body foam rolling is my favorite. I usually do lower body on my own without the dvd.

Cathy, nice job with Body Parts Legs+bonus and Step Boss Lying Stretch. I considered doing that same combo when I did Legs on Tuesday. I’m not the one who worked in a boarding kennel! That was someone else’s post. Me doing anything with animals is very unlikely.

Waving hello to Valerie. Have a nice day everyone.

Just finished STS 2 Body Parts Shoulders w/bonus. Today was also supposed to be a zoo/visit my parents day, but I didn't get to sleep till around 12:30 and I'd have had to be working out shortly after 6, plus I really don't want to drive I94 late afternoon after a night of bad sleep.

Judy I hope that Chris is doing better and can leave the hospital tomorrow. I hope you were able to get in a workout to help de-stress.

Carolyn great job with the yoga.

Hi to Valerie and Diane Sue.

I had another medical appointment today, so no workout for me. I saw my breast specialist for my annual follow up appointment. Everything is fine.

Cathy, nice job with Body Parts Shoulders w/bonus. Hopefully you can get some rest today.

Hello to Judy, Diane Sue, and Valerie.

our drive yesterday was long but uneventful. got into a rain storm near bozeman and then a beautiful rainbow, actually a triple one which Ive never seen before. I dont know how else to describe it. a rainbow and then an opposite color rainbow above and then another opposite one below the lower one. not an entire one but several colors. not strong enough colors to get a picture while driving. after we got here we unloaded and I got dinner rolling. 11 hrs. while we were eating, I saw 3 pronghorns flash by. I only had a tiny space to see them. DH thought I was crazy but ran to another room and there they were, a mom and two almost fully grown youngsters. later we saw a male. got pictures. not national geographic quality but enough to show them to our neighbor who's been looking for them since we saw them in our driveway area a month and a half ago. good to know it wasn't a fluke and that there at least a few living here. this is such a cool thing. wish we knew where they got here from and where they go when they migrate in late fall.

at our other house we had swifts nesting in our chimney as usual. the youngsters have been flying for a couple weeks now and probably will be gone by the time we get home. they learn to fly and stay out for longer and longer times and finally leave. we will hope they return in later fall and that I catch them on camera again. that was a much larger group than what was raised here.

carolyn good work on getting the medical issues dealt with. agree with Cathy, a workout is a good way to elieve stress judy. hope all is going well with Chris.

Today I did Ice Low Impact Sweat #2 27 minutes, heart rate 118/148, 119 calories, 1,728 steps. I then did STS 2 Standing Metaboic Core Warm Up and Core+Floor, 25 minutes, 79 calories, 633 steps. I finished with CDorner Low Back Stretch 18 minutes, 23 calories. 70 minutes, 221 calories, 2,361 steps. I am not sure what I want to do, but I think I am going to use STS 2 workouts with some others. I like having the worksheets already in the mornings rather than pause to write a whole workout out throughout the workout. I am getting results. There were a few moves this last week that I think I could add a couple of pounds to the moves.

Chris is home and resting now. It will take a few more days for his incisions to heal enough for him to be able to move around comfortably. I'm taking a couple of weeks off work to stay home with him in case he has any issues and needs to get back to the hospital. There is a slight risk of an abscess developing in the next 7-10 days. I'm going to be doing short workouts, Cathe and Peloton, as I can but nothing too long or extreme. I lost 3 lbs this weekend just from the stress and not being able to eat much so I'll probably consider this an active rest week and try to get back to normal once Chris is feeling better.

Today I did Body Parts Chest. My time was 46 minutes with 150 calories burned. My average heart rate was 109 and maximum heart rate was 139. I was undecided about my next rotation, but decided to stick with STS 2.0 with low impact cardio added in.

Diane Sue, great job with Low Impact Sweat, Standing Metabolic Core +Floor, and CDorner Low Back stretch. My thoughts are the same ans yours about workouts for the next few weeks. I like STS 2.0.

Judy, I’m glad that Chris is home. I’m sending positive thoughts your way.

Valerie, I’m glad that you had a good drive.

Hello to Cathy.

This morning I did STS 2 Body Parts Back no bonus as I was crunched for time and then I went and walked at the zoo. I saw Derek and even made a couple comments in response to something the two campers with him said as I passed, but I did not acknowledge him directly. LOL He had told me about these two girls yesterday and how tall they were. The group tops out at age 9 and they were a bit taller than his 5'3" LOL

Judy I'm glad that Chris is home and hopefully his healing continues without issue. Sounds like you have a good workout plan.

Carolyn nice job with Body Parts Chest. I've still got three plus weeks of body parts, but need to start toying around with what I want to change in the STS 2/XTrain rotation.

Valerie glad your trip went okay. That is so cool that you are seeing pronghorns. Very cool on the triple rainbow. I've seen a couple doubles, but never that.

Diane Sue great job with Ice Low Impact Sweat #2, STS 2 Standing Metaboic Core Warm Up and Core+Floor and the low back stretch.

Today I did STS 2 Body Parts Mish Mosh Biceps & Back #2 64 minutes DVD says 45 minutes, 136 calories. I had to make adjustments in equipment etc.. I was going over the rotations and saw it and decided I would try it out this way. I followed it with STS 2 foam rolling upper, 19 minutes, 26 calories. Total time 83 minutes, 162 calories.

Judy, I hope Chris heals quickly. That is good that you will be home with him while he is getting through recovery. My heart goes out to you and Chris.

Valerie, I love it when I see rainbows. I bet two of them was magnificent. How fun seeing the pronghorn family outside your home. I am sure watching them was fascinating.

Carolyn, nice work with Body Parts Chest. I was undecided on what I wanted to do and looked over the different rotations and saw the mish most of two body part workouts worked in and decided to try the mish mosh workouts for now. Although at the moment my neck and shoulder along with something in the bicep is suddenly hurting on shoulder side this evening. I may need to take a break.
It is always a relief to get through those medical tests and appointments with good results.

Kathy, good job one getting in STS 2 Body Parts Back and a walk at the zoo today. That is funny that when you walked by Derek and made a comment to the girls not acknowledging him.

you know how 2 rainbows the colors are reversed? you get ROYGBIV and the second one is the opposite order? this time the first rainbow had stripes below it that were reversed but only the blue indigo violet stripes showing. probably as close to triple as I will ever see. we were driving east on I-90 near bozeman. they get a lot of rainbows here with isolated storm areas and sunshine nearby. we were tired and wanted to keep going. the lowest one was close to the horizon. still it was special.

did a ride yesterday about 6 milesa.

Today I did STS 2 Body Parts Chest. Glad tomorrow is a rest day though if I get up early I'll try to get in a cardio.

Diane Sue great job with STS 2 Body Parts Mish Mosh Biceps & Back and foam rolling. Diane Sue what I really found funny was that without even trying when I walked back down from Africa to the East Zoo, they were just coming out of the woods from their nature walk and crossed my path and then followed it. Couldn't have timed it that well if I tried.

Valerie glad that you got a ride in your first day back. Looking forward to more animal sighting reports.

Judy I hope that Chris is continuing to improve.

Hi Carolyn.

This morning I did Fit Split Low Impact Cardio for 27 minutes and 187 calories burned. Average heart rate was 131 and maximum heart rate was 153. I modified floor cardio like mountain climbers to a standing move.

Cathy, great job with Body Parts Back and Body Parts Chest.

Diane Sue, nice job with Body Parts Mish Mosh Biceps and Back and Foam Rolling Upper Body. It does sound like a little rest break might be good for your neck and shoulder.

Valerie, the rainbow sounds beautiful. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen one. Nice job with the ride.

Judy, I hope that Chris is starting to feel better.

Have a good day everyone.

carolyn we dont get rainbows in Wa often either. usually if its raining there is no sun to refract thru the raindrops. MT has conditions like that often. another ride this morning 2 hours. cathy we wont go in the park this time of year so we are limited in what critters we see. saw the pronghorns and many deer, lots of birds. too crowded in the park this time of year. plus there is a LOT of road work going on.

Today I did Coffey Fit Raw Kickboxing 33 minutes, 148 calories, heart rate 121-150, 2,869 steps. I then did Coffey Fit Raw Box for your waistline, 32 minutes, 176 calories, 136/166 heart rate, 1037 steps. I did not use weights for the boxing and only a few moves on waistline that were more waist than boxing with just 1#. I finished with STS 2 mobility # 2, 17 minutes, 30 calories. Total time was 82 minutes, 354 calories, 4,173 steps.
I went to the workout manager and wrote down the moves for mish mosh #2 on Triceps and chest and then on shoulders and legs. It should save me time as I had to look over the work sheets to find the particular moves used.

Valerie, nice job on the 6 mile ride yesterday. I do not see a lot of rainbows here either. There was one that was just beautiful when I was making the trip in the morning to my orthopedic surgeon the last visit after the shoulder surgery. I didn't want to turn away from it. It was awesome.

Cathy, nice work on STS 2. I welcome those recovery days. I really wanted to get in more cardio today since I have not done much of it since I started the STS rotation. It is amazing how things work out like that with timing. Once my daughters and their husbands each had went on a road trip separate from each other and not knowing the other was doing it and both managed to run into each other out in the woods stopping in the exact same spot to eat a picnic lunch. It is funny how those things work out. Their families had a nice time together.

Carolyn, great job on Fit Split Low Impact Cardio today. Good job with modifying today. I am getting pretty good at it.
