Dips and Shoulder Pain

Hi Cathe,

And thank you. Your workouts have meant so much to me.

Quick question: At the end of Bis and Tris (X-Train) are the tricep dips on the floor. These are in other workouts, too, such as Body Max II.

For some reason, I always feel discomfort in my shoulders (top and to the side) rather than all the work on my triceps. I don't have this same pain if I move the dips to my high step. I wonder if I'm doing something wrong?

Hi Dawn - I have this exact same issue. I figure this move is just biomechanically wrong for my particular body structure so I always do my dips on the high step instead.

I often substitute a seated overhead dumbbell french press or lying dumbbell triceps french press.

:p Me too!! I just can not do them! I like biomechanically wrong. :p I sub weights depending on the workout with a triceps exercise.
