Hi all,

Just starting us off today. I couldn't sleep and woke up before 5:30. I hate it when that happens. Oh well.

Gosh I’m sorry you couldn’t sleep- maybe a little nap later today? Knowing you that’s out of the question… I think Debra, Sandra & I need to teach you how to do that!

Not sure if I’m doing a workout today or not- Sandy and I couldn’t get to sleep til close to 1am and of course she wanted her breakfast at the 5am hour- maybe I’ll clean instead- who knows at this point.

Will get to personals a few at a time today as Friday was quite busy! LOL

Our plan at bay is to rebuild the stairs next week (we are suppose to be there Wednesday PM thru Sunday). We will make them less steep and see if that will help Sandy get up them.

The property has been in DH’s family for 4 generations so selling it is out of the question- also all homes are built to Hurricane Code so must be on elevations of 8’ minimums out there.. Even tho our house sits on the “bay” side of the ocean we still flood. Its amazing… The house is a full football field back from the canal yet we have at least 2x a year when the water is up to the house covering 2-4 stairs… That’s a butt load of water! LOL The first time I saw it I thought I was dreaming! We even had a refrigerator in our front yard once! It’s a trip!!! ANYWAY- Even if the new stairs don’t help Sandy I think it will help all of us save our hips & knees. Just a very expensive project when we are just a few years away from a rebuild.

Ok- Going to get started on personals and see what exciting weekend activities are going on! Can I say ONE MORE TIME – I want that new series delivered NOW!!!! LOLOL I cannot wait! I keep hoping presale will go away so we know we are close to shipping!

This time next week our R/T Xers will be tearfully be packing up to go home…. AND TO POST ALL THOSE PICS FOR US!!!!

Hi Traci - Ahhh... You know me too well. Yes, a nap is out of the question. I'll just end up going to bed early, then it becomes a vicious cycle.

I'm sure you have discussed this, but could you put in a ramp? Sounds like less work than re-doing the stairs, but then again I'm not doing it!

I'm just checking out various websites and drinking coffee, because no one is up.

I can't wait for the new series either. I'm hoping that a recovery week, and then a month of one of Cathe's rotations and viola, the new series with be at my door!

Trac: On the ramp….We thought about that- Sandy’s hip issues are related to weight on the back legs – She can go DOWN stairs no problem… The ramp would end up being so steep due to angle we could do that she wouldn’t be able to walk up that either… Thanks for the suggestion tho- we are open to ANYTHING at this point… We are having a lift put in when we rebuild but to do so now would be close to 6K and that’s out of the question… We cant get into Credit Card debt at this point in our lives so expensive “best” solutions like that are not things we will discuss- (or we’ll talk ourselves into it). Very worst case scenario is that DH and I just don’t have weekends together…. It will be OK- We are pretty solid and make a concentrated effort during the week to spend quality time together. I told DH no t to worry- it will all work out and we’ll adjust to a new routine for awhile if we have to.

Great looking plan for this week! I think its good idea to do those recovery days… I think your stamina there will be “adrenaline based” so no worries…. I think from a physical perspective your body will reward you for the recovery type days…. LOVED the trooper story…. Just wait- you TOO will be old enough someday that those lovely lashes cannot bat enough to get off with a warning… That was my first I’M OLD moment…. A real ticket! THE NERVE!

Oh girl you crack me up! The tattoo chicks – My biggest concern is if you get tattoos when you are “larger” what the heck do they look like when your body shrinks???? Does a whale now look like a guppy? Does a skull now look like a 6 month old carved pumpkin???? Thank you for saying that I was starting from a different vantage point- I can always count on my Deb to make me feel better! LOL Hope the BFF Weekend ROCKS and you guys are having a ball!!!

Is it just me or do you Canadians get more holidays than we do? Maybe you have them all because of summer climate? I do hope you totally enjoy your holiday and do something fun! I’m sure by now you are ready to tackle double BG Floor work again… maybe that can be your holiday bonus workout!

You did well yourself… If I’ were Cathe I’d respond 99% of time as: Thank you for your thoughts… May I suggest you move on to a site that gives a sh*t! ……………..LOL on haying core work- I must admit that is the primary reason I started including yoga and have always loved Kickboxing! I find with those 2 regularly in my week I don’t have a need for actual “ab work”. Always looking for the angle aren’t I?

Hi there ladies! Just popping on for a quick hello. My BFF is going to stay an extra day, so she isn't going to leave until tomorrow...YEAH!!! We are having way too much fun...Went out last night and had just a bit too much to drink! But alive and kicking this morning. I will probably not get to my workout today...but since my friend is here, I guess I can take an extra day off.

We are heading out to brunch and shopping today...And then a little cookout tonight.

Hope you guys are all well...Read through yesterdays and today's posts...so everyone is busy this weekend it seems.

Traci and Tracy....LOL about the tattooed women!! I'm glad that I didn't sound like a major *itch!!

Okay...really have to go and get in the shower...I probably won't be back today...but I'll see you guys tomorrow...

Goooooooooooood day!

This morning I did Shiva Rea's Fluid Power: BackBend Flow. 1hr,48mins of acting like a water droplet. Whish, whoosh, whish, whoosh. It goes without saying that I'm feeling just looooverly now. I also just ate 2 slices of the whole wheat bread I made yesterday, smothered in almond butter and 2xthefruit strawberry rhurbarb jam :9 :9 :9 :9 . Should have cut those slices thicker.

TraciX - I was sorry to see you post last night. That's not good news for poor Sandy. Have you seen those wheelchairs for dogs? They sit their back end in them, and pull with their front paws? Coudn't you get something like that, build a ramp, and pull her up the ramp? Or is it just too steep? I guarantee you'll get some good muscles! I love the sounds of your beach house, BTW. DH stands to inherit a cottage on the shore of one of the Great Lakes. It's prime real estate that's been in the family for a few generations. Sadly, both he and his brother live too far away to use it or maintain it. I have no idea what will happene when my FIL passes, and they need to decide what to do with the property. The property is worth waaay more than the cottage that sits on it. I wouldn't want to let that kind of an asset out of the family, and I would LOVE for my kids to be able to go play on the beach every weekend. Maybe we'll just move back. Build a permanent house on the lot. Oooh, that would be cool. About the weather here: no, it's not turning to Fall yet. We just typically cool off at night. The days get nice and hot still. I think our temperature range within 24 hours is probably wider than yours. July, however, was the hottest month Edmonton has ever had, and the evenings didn't even get cool. That was getting uncomfortable. This is much nicer. I'm dying for Cathe's new series!!! I've been over the moon about it since she first announced all her new workouts, what, over a year ago now? The 4-day split is exactly what I'm looking for at this time. I think this week I'll mock up my own. I don't *think* we get more holidays. In May, we have our Victoria Day a week ahead of your Memorial Day. I think this long weekend is the only one that you don't also get? It's called the "civic holiday", and it's just for fun. A throw-away, do what you want. Our next long weekend is the at the start of September: the Labour-Day weekend. I think you have an extra day off then, too, don't you?

TracyX - Oh dear, if we're going to start evaluating how well we look during the poses, then I'm in big trouble! I have no doubt a yoga-master would get a great workout just fluttering around me, correcting my form. But hey, what I'm doing feels good! My right hip is stiffer than my left. I'm working on it. I like how every time I do one of Shiva's segments I always hear something I missed before, and I do the pose that much better.

WendyX - How are you doing this morning? Did you do Cardio Fusion? ME? DrillMax? Curious minds want to know. I have to go back and read the Trooper Story. I have a hunch it involves you flirting your way out of a ticket...not surprising ;) About the AC forum discussion: It beffudles me why people keep asking Cathe to modify her overtly described "advanced" workouts!! For criminey's sake, if you can't do an advanced workout, don't buy an advanced workout!!

DebraX - How much fun are you having?! Woohoo!!

Anointed - Did you survive yesterday? I'm so pleased you're enjoying the X upper body workouts.

NicoleX - I completely agree that yoga will tone the upper body muscles, and offer endurance training. I want big muscles, though!! I had big muscles from the X, and I want them back! Frankly, I miss that lovely pump I get from lifting heavy. And I love it when my shoulders pop. Have a great time at the wedding. I'm sure DS is going to look adorable.

Today I'm going to actually start drafting that report. I take a long time to put that first drop of ink on paper. I circle the airport quite a few times before finally coming in for a landing. Another student-friend of mine described it like her brain was a crockpot: she had to throw everything inside and let it simmer for a while. Either metaphor works, and each boils down to the same thing: active procrastination. So, off I go to shower, wrap presents for the b-day party the kids are going to this afternoon, then maybe circle the airport a few more times.

Power Yoga For Happiness

"Daily Dose Of Bliss"

I was able to get yoga in this morning before I get ready for church. We are going to the grocery store after that then it's off to the wedding. The people on the grooms side were almost unearable last night. So snooty! I am quite a chatty person so I can talk to a wall if I have to but snobbiness I don't handle well. It put me in quite a funk! It was the turn there back on you treatment, literally!!
Oh well, tonight more of our side will be there and we are on opposite sides of the seating for the ceremony and dinner:)

Traci-X, Sorry you had to come home early. You are so good to Miss Sandy! Enjoy your alone time:)

TracyX, Wish you had more sleep. Maybe tonight:D

Hi, everyone - was way too busy in Boise yesterday to post, although I did read everyone's posts :)

Traci, so sorry Miss Sandy is struggling - and yes, you are so good to her!. I wonder if Sandra is onto something with the wheelchair suggestion? I just Google'd dog wheel chair and there were all kinds of slings with wheels attached, etc. Apparently it's not an uncommon problem. Maybe there's something out there that would help?

I'm sure you're pumping her with the glucosamine tablets every day.
This sounds a little weird, but if you check out the Tahitian Noni Juice site (www.tni.com) they make a form of their nutritional juice for animals that's pretty miraculous. They use it with race horses with pretty phenomenal results. I wonder if some of that would help her? They were a client of ours for a long time and I got pretty familiar with the product.

Debra, so glad you're enjoying your time with BFF!! Worth a missed workout or two, definitely.

Sandra, yes, the bread sounds yummy! Too cool.

Teddygirl, glad that tooth is getting under control! Funny comment about the sweet tooth still working fine :)

Today I am hitting the hotel gym in Boise before we take back off to Salt Lake City. Will do either a TM run or Keep It Up/Six Pack from my PC. Will decide when I get in there. It's been a wonderful trip!

Good Afternoon Ladies!

Tracy-X: Sorry you couldn't sleep. Sometimes it's better to get up and find something to do rather than frustrate yourself with relentless tossing and turning. My gf takes a 10 to 15 minute nap. She'll either set her alarm clock or have one of her dc wake her up. She says it's more refreshing than taking a longer one. I would like to know how she can fall asleep so quickly! It takes more than 10 minutes for me to drift off to dreamland! About those firewalkers... Those give me the DOMS in the side glutes too! However, when she has you squat and walk, those seem to hit my thutt area more. I think Cathe's workouts have helped lift that thutt area. Looking back on the X, I think the way I sat into my horse stance and some L&G exercises targeted the side glute more. It did help strengthen my lower quads though! Hopefully, I'll figure out how my body works when I start Round 2.:)

Traci-X: Poor Sandy! I bet she tries her hardest. Unlike people, dogs usually give 100% effort. It must break your heart! Selling the bay house is out of the question! Without a visual of the house, it would be hard for me to give an unsolicited solution suggestion. Which isn't a bad thing considering I'm no architect!

ARGH! I don't know what I did. But, I lost a whole paragraph in my last post! I went to put in a comma and hit the backspace key and BAM! It was gone! Weird! This is the second time it's happened.

About the trooper... You guys! I did NOT flirt with the man.:p I wasn't wearing any makeup. And, I hadn't brushed my hair the entire day!!! I had on huge sunglasses. So, he couldn't see me bat an eye if I had tried. If anything I did had any effect on his leniency, it was probably my complete honesty, infectious laughter, and well behaved kids in the car. I think it was the latter. He was probably thinking how does that poor lady with all them kids and a protective dog to boot restrain herself from speeding to her destination!:7 No wonder she forgot to register. They're probably driving her batty!Then it probably dawned on him how darn expensive it is to feed and clothe them all!:7 I'm OLD! I've given up on charming my way out of trouble. Hence, the waving of the drivers license.:7 It's the sad truth.:)

Now, back to personals!:) :) :)

I'd love to be a fly on the wall when Cathe reads all the whining (cough cough) I mean thoughtful, respectful suggestions.}( I have to wonder what her initial reaction is and if she has to compose herself before responding. I truly admire her ability to exhibit a tremendous amount of grace and perhaps restraint! Oooo! Stop giving me any more valid sounding excuses for not working my abs! Well, I couldn't remember it the day after either!:7 :7 I'm not conditioned for more than one glass of cheap wine these days! LOL on counting the tattoos! You do make a good point about the more out of shape you are the faster any workout routine whips you into shape. Remember my basic step month? Sandra-X: Water droplet, eh? That sounds like slow continuous torture!;) Really, your breakfast is torturing me! YUM!:9 I did ME yesterday. It went much better this time around since I wasn't PMSing. However, I still can't do all the bicep work. I'm having a hard time becoming friends with my barbell. Tony spoiled me for dumbbells. There's no changing up involved. It would help if I had spring clips. Yet another fitness purchase. I'm too scared to tally up how much I've spent on living healthier this year. LOL about the advanced videos. Let me tell you, I was one of "those" pre-X. I wished that she had more intermediate offerings to stroke my ego. However, to my credit, I didn't go over to AC and tell her what she should do! No! I went over to OD and begged for HELP! The ladies were so kind in giving me encouragement and helpful modifications. I love how your mind works! I think logical people need to have a game plan before they express themselves. (Unlike what I do here!LOL) Circle around, get a good vision, and have a safe landing!

Nicole-X: That's the pits! Try not to let other people's snottiness get you slimey! I don't recommend doing what I do. I call them out on it. Usually, I find an willing accomplice (Phil) who appreciates any sneaky references I make TO them (snotty people) about their ill mannered behavior.}( It puts me into a cheery mood everytime!:7 I hope you have a better time at the wedding. Just think of us Xers who LOVE to chat with you! You know we're much better than them! What's that? A snotty comment? :p }( ;) ;)

Traci-X: I see that the part where I offered Phil and a family friend got cut out of my first post with that backspace key mishap! Well, if we lived closer, I would loan out Phil to build Sandy a ramp/staircase. He built a ramp for his father's wheelchair. And, our friend, who we stay with while in the State College area, is constantly building staircases in his ever expanding house. I've actually lost count! He builds, changes the layout, tears it down, expands, and rebuilds it elsewhere. It's CRAZY! Speaking of crazy people, I need to call my mother before I start CF.

I shall be searching info on those for sure! On your inherited property- Oh do try and hold onto it if possible… Those things are just amazing places to keep family heritage & stories alive. Usually it’s the taxes that make people end up selling here. Well that & the Geographic’s like you have… people move far away from these family places now-a-days… Consider refurbishing and renting as a weekend vacation place… Great tax write-offs… Do you all have taxes there? How LOVELY your weather sounds… Like California Coast… Cool evening with warm days… my favorite climate on the planet. You’re probably right on the holidays… I think we have 7 or 8 “legal” ones then companies individually throw some additional ones in there for good measure…On your “It beffudles me why people keep asking Cathe to modify her overtly described "advanced" workouts!! Too sweet about your suggestions for Sandy… You and my DH sound so much alike. Ya know- it is what it is and we certainly aren’t rich enough to rebuild much so she can go to bay… I keep reminding Wendell of that… He’s STILL at bay slaving away on getting the stairs started… :7 the man will be home late and have to get up for work at 3am….. He is just so sad about the deterioration and he was really emotional yesterday.. Said that he’s been going to bay every weekend to fish for 45 years and now its just not the same when Sandy & I cant be there… broke my heart. I think it scares him too tho- what the hell will he and I do retired down there when OUR hips/joints give out???? That’s why I demanded a lift in the rebuild! :7 LOLOLOL … ON your version of trooper ;) ok – we believe you- ;) really we do Wendy ;) REALLY! Enjoy CF – I doubt I’ll get anything done today other than household stuff.


On a more personal note- (more personal than Personals?)

Oh my dear Xer buddies- this Xer is feeling like one big emotional mess today… :eek: actually for the past few weeks – feeling like the weight of the world is on my shoulders and not feeling the “I am woman hear me roar” attitude that is necessary to get thru all of it with grace and dignity. Ever go into that black hole and fear not coming out?

I haven’t had a good solid meditation session in ages and that’s part of my problem as well… I flow with the ups & downs of life much better when I stay centered… I could kick myself for letting that go. Speaking of universal flow- I am completely out of it and have been for awhile…. It takes me to places I don’t like going so I need to get back in the flow QUICKLY!

I have been going in circles (my version of Sandra’s circling airplane) mine looks more like a rabid dog chasing its tail and getting angry/mad/frustrated about not catching it! …. I am going back & forth on what to do- sign off for awhile and force myself to find a healthy flow … keep using my Xer pals as my daily stop for sanity and diversion… what to do… I keep telling myself how blessed my life is and I KNOW it is… so I listed the areas that I feel inadequate in at the moment and what’s weighing heavy in my heart.. All that served was to make feel like a big selfish boob! (which made me more emotional!):eek:


I think I have just talked myself into stepping away from boards for a week or so just til I get my life in a flow again. If I can use the hours in the early AM to center myself thru yoga and meditation & reading then I can use the positive flow of that to get a solid workout done…then maybe that will lead to creative energy for work on the things I must accomplish to feel good …. then maybe I’ll be able to have a clear head for all the other “stuff” going on right now.

I’ll be back after I get firmly planted again – no worries about me guys you know I always land on my feet… I promise to check in week of the 13th to update you on my progress…..Hugs to all and thanks to all of you for being the best support ever!

All you R/T gals…. Have the absolute BESTEST of times… enjoy yourselves, Cathe & each other- I shall be looking for all those stories when I come back to Catheland! BTW- I think Sandra X is making a specialty cake for the Xer who asks the most embarrassing question! – Oh lets GUESS who will win THAT one! :p LOL

Traci-X: I'm not going to lie, I'm going to miss you!!!! But, I'm not going to let you go that easy! I'm sending you an email ASAP missy! ;-)

As for Cardio Fusion, it is HARD! I did the warm-up with one riser. Decided to take off the riser since I'm learning the BM2 combos for the first time. Is it just me or does anyone else find that they use more physical energy learning new step combos? Once I know where my feet need to go, the workout seems so much easier! Anyhow, I stumbled and fumbled my way through the first combo. Decided to give up on it and watch.:p Skipped the LIC bonus combo since I was tacking on C&W cardio later. I did the circuit steps and blasts and the first three DM cardios. I finished up with the cardio portion in C&W and stability ball abs from KPC. Love the planks on the ball! Yes, I realize that the ab work in KPC is probably one of the easiest Cathe offers!}( So, all in all, I think I got a decent workout.

I'm ready to start lifting heavy (for me) again. But, I'm going to try to keep up with this endurance/cardio kick for a little while longer. I wonder when the new series will be shipped. I don't know if I can wait for them before trying out S&H.
