RE: Xer.......Motivating Monday...........................
Bear with me ladies. There is just no way I can catch up on personals. Today is a new day. I've tried keeping up with y'all the past week. Unless I can dredge up the short term memory of my mind, I'll focus on today's personals.
For those who asked, Dd did well today at the dentist. Now that her two front teeth have fully grown in, the dentist rebonded them again to appear more normal in shape. I'm nervously awaiting the day when they tell me it's time to pull them all out (except her two front teeth) and use dentures until her jaw is mature enough for implants.:-( She wasn't allowed to eat until 1:00. So, she was starving. She ended up eating an entire Big Mac Meal at McDonalds!}( No, milkshakes Sandra. She can make her own tonight.
As for the postman... Well, MIL woke up the next morning worried that she would be turned into the "Beautification Committee" for having sidewalk chalk on the curb. She lives in a retirement community where people have nothing to do but make sure their neighbors aren't breaking any beautification rules like leaving their garage doors open while they're inside their homes. Important stuff! Anyhow, she went outside at 7:30 in the morning with a bucket of water and broom to scrub off the chalk. Apparently, she didn't do a very good job. I saw one of her neighbors walking her dog stop right in front of her house and STARE at the curb!!!:7 MIL is holding her breath for a warning letter or fine. Anyhow, when the postman came to deliver the mail, I greeted him and asked him how he liked my artistic endeavours. LOL He was so flabbergasted, he just uttered, "Um, thanks," before driving hastily away.
Looks like tonight's workout calls for KB and legs. Whooo Hoooo I've been wanting to do that one all the way through for some time! Right after I finish personals and homeschool math, I'll get busy with it.
Traci: BC is one of your faves? I'm with Debra, I have to be in the mood for jumping around like I'm in P.E. class. Actually, I never did work hard in gym class. I was afraid I'd look like my gym teacher.
:7 Did you get anything fun from Target? The Discovery Store also sells fun toys.
Carol: How do you break a monitor without hitting someone over the head with it?
I ended up getting accidental insurance on my laptop just in case I feel the need to do that to anyone.}( Seriously, if someone tries to steal it off me, I plan on smashing it on the ground, jump up and down on it, and ask if they still want it. I can't get a replacement if they actually steal it, now can I?:+ How's science and history coming along? You're using CKEB and MOH Vol.1 right? My gf borrowed a mini library of biology books from me to use with CKEB. We're enjoying SOTW Vol.2 for the twins and MOH Vol.2 for eldest dd. I'm waiting to get back before we finish A Child's Geography: Explore His Earth.
Laurie: UGH! You have black walnuts too! We have a HUGE Black Walnut tree in our yard between the house and road. The teenagers used to gather all the walnuts and play "war" with them. Cars drive over them and smash black gunk all over the roads. Squirrels consider our attic the perfect distance for storing them. We should cut it down. But, it looks so majestic next to our farmhouse. LOL on dreading Dreya. She can't be so perfect. I did spot her cellulite in one of the workouts. Was it in L&B or CS? I'll have to remind myself to look for it next round.
Lea: How did BM2 affect you physically? Was it stomach or headache pains? Don't be so hard on yourself. You're getting back in the game. You've got the eating part conquered! And, you look so good!
Oh, I'm leaving on the 21st of Nov. I'll be back home 2 months later. I'll still drop by to check up on y'all.
Debra: Good for you! Yeah, XDH may rant and rave, but he needs to know and will get used to it. He has no choice. Are you relieved to get that off your chest!
Tracy: My FIL had a Specialized bike. Phil will probably end up with it as it's a comfort bike (big seat, shock absorbers). He doesn't ride often. If he decides to get into riding, he'll buy a road or mountain bike.
Jeanette: Have fun tonight with the priest!:+ The only reason I enjoy the time change is because I don't work and like to sleep in. Give me a couple of days and I'll wish it was spring again.:7 I have to go back and see what all you bought! Missed that post! I'll live vicariously through your shopping sprees and spa days.
Tess: Did you jump ship from our check-in already? Did you get your Day 1 pictures taken? What do you think about Tony now? I didn't like him at first. But, after a few days, he grew on me. LOL
Nicole: Is dh home yet? Did he get a sugar hangover too? Or does he avoid most sugary foods like mine? I used to HATE it when dh and I were first dating. He never ate dessert or cereal!!! I couldn't understand how a person could live like that!:7
Sandra: LOL I guess you got me! I do talk to my kids all day. However, it's not the deep, meaningful conversations. Sure, we discuss Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity and such during history. But, it's more like this:
Me: Spell "gave". Spelling gave me a headache yesterday. Gave.
dd#2: ggggAf
Me: Say /g//A//V/. Use your voice box for the last sound.
dds: gggAAAAVVVVVV gave
Me: Good! What's the first sound you hear?
dd#2 as she writes the first sound: /g/
Me: Okay, say the word slowly and write down the sounds you hear.
dd#2 writes V next: gg...A...V...
Me: Okay. Remember every syllable needs a vowel. What vowel sound do you hear in the word gAve?
dd#2 writes an a and says: gAf
Me: Say the word again normally. Remember my sentence?
dd#2: no
Me: Never mind, say "gAv".
Me watching her write down the third letter: Do you hear /s/ in the word "gaVe".
dd#2 about to lose it: no.
Me losing it: Then why did you write an s?!?!?!?!
I'm sure if dd had a toy phone, she'd hang up on me!
:7 sigh
ROFL: I vote for rebound!!!! Hey, Debra, What do you think?
You think you're bad? I wouldn't have jumped up and down on Debra's futon or mattress. Sandra! Don't you know I don't believe in grades at this age. I believe they were meant to measure a child's understanding of a particular concept. Since everything is pretty much one on one, I know when they don't "get" it. Hence the reason, gave is on tomorrow's spelling list.:7
TG: OMW! What ever made you and your sister think to open a home for pregnant girls? I think it's wonderful, but very difficult. You and your sister must be strong women to support girls without much or any support.
I've played a little to long. I'll be back after I finish math and LIS.
Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy
UGH! Looks like plans have changed. Dd just popped out the lens in her glasses. Gotta go to pay someone to replace the lens ASAP
