Workout room revamping!!!!

I just had to share! This weekend DH and I picked up one of those little metal arms things that holds the tv and dvd/vcr player up in the corner of the room, near the ceiling. He installed it for me yesterday and we moved out the big ol' tv stand that had been in there. All my beloved cathe videos (and those other ones that have an inch of dust on them) relocated to a bookshelf right outside my workout room. We moved the stationary bike out (it will go to goodwill, where it came from for the purpose of rehab for my knees several years ago). I HAVE SO MUCH MORE ROOM! The bedroom is on the smaller size - about 10x10 - but much more spacious now! I'm still getting used to looking up to see Cathe and will still have to make some adjustments.
I'm so excited about it - no one else but y'all would understand! :7 :7 :7 :7 :7

We DO understand Kelli! That is awesome! I remember when we moved here three & a half years ago, I could hardly wait to use my new workout room more then anything! It just makes you want to go down there and work even harder. Did you get some mirrors? That helps so much with form. (will make your room look even bigger too!) Have fun and thanks for sharing with us. Woo-Hooooo!

Ooooo.....I want one of those things for my tv and vcr, too. One day I'll get one. How great for you!!! :)

Kelli, it sounds heavenly! I workout in the family room, a long, narrow, tiled room. I have to take both end tables out and put them under the stairwell, slide my couch to the west end of the room, grab a broom to sweep up dust bunnies and "gifts" from my children (socks, toys), grab my greatmats.com mats, all 16 of them, from the downstairs, shower stall where they stay (since we only use it when we have guests the family has to shower upstairs). My long step and weights are also stashed in that bathroom, so I haul them out, then collect my risers and small step from the front room closet. By the time I put the mats together and set everything up, I have had a fairly decent warmup! I may have to start keeping them in the family room again. It looks a bit odd but we get used to it. When my oldest daughter goes to college, I can make a workout room for myself! Or I could try talking my husband into a 5 bedroom house!:)

Congratulations!

Kelli, where do you buy one of those things. It sounds like a great idea! Mmmm...maybe I can get one and when my son comes to visit over the holidays he can install it for me...

Sounds like you are really going to enjoy the changes.

I want to know where you bought it too! Was it expensive (the thing that allows you to attach the tv to your wall/ceiling). I am now working out in a spare bedroom with a 7 inch portable DVD player sitting on top of a table on top of a storage bin! Argh! (this after months of dragging out all of my equipment and putting it away again every day so I could workout in front of the living room tv around toys from 3 little boys!) I am dying to get a tv/vcr/dvd combo and attach it to the wall.

There is still a double bed in the bedroom too...it is an 11x 13 room, so I am wondering if I will have room for Cathe cardio. So far I have only done power hour and MIS in there. The other weight workouts I have are only on VCR tape right now!

Hey Kelli, I do understand. My workout space is only half as big as yours. It works for me since I'm small, but I still wish I had more space especially for kickboxing. I would love a floor tailor-made for aerobics, a wall of mirrors, a rack for my dumbbells, and a place for a punching bag (for those times when I feel really evil and need to let off steam}( ). Well, maybe someday...

Have fun!

I just knew y'all would understand!! :)

Bobbi - sounds like a mini-workout just getting everything prepped! when we lived in a shoebox apartment I went through the same kinda stuff - lugging all my weights into the tiny living room, moving our coffee table around, etc etc. ;-)

DebbieH - I have just one mirror but I think I'm going to have to relocate it. I'd like to get some more!

Jen, Hollie, Susan - we picked it up at Best Buy (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051806236975&skuId=4750585&type=product) Regular price is 49.99 but we purchased a previously opened one for 39.99. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it (at least it hasn't come crashing down off the wall...). I also got the vcr/dvd player mount that goes below it (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=1051384432743&skuId=2427859&type=product) for 34.99. I know that Fry's also sells these (I'd been looking to get them for a LONG time).

btw- my dh also bought a previously opened memory card for his digital camera (also 10 bucks off regular price) and it works fine. I think this is a pretty cool idea BB has - to sell opened stuff at a discount.
