Working out with a chest cold??

How many of you can workout with a chest cold..I've had one for 3 weeks now and can workout one day and then gotta pull back and skip..which is frustrating to me (I'm an all or nothing gal). But somedays I can't take the accelerted heart rate from working out ( too taxing on the heart and lungs) what do you girls do?? x(
 
I always work out when I have a chest cold, I draw the line at fever, aches, chills etc. However, don't expect the same energy level and if you can't breathe, probably should rest as well.
 
If I have a cold, I don't do more then walking or stretching, but it really depends on how bad the cold is - I have run in races before when I was sick and seemed to find the energy (go figure!). If it's really bad though, NOTHING can make me workout! LOL! :) :)

Working out with a head cold is okay, with a chest cold is NOT recommended.
Take it easy, your workouts will be there after you recover.

Sounds like you are not letting your body recover. Why don't you just take the week off, pump up wioth vitamins and plenty of sleep. You should see a surge in your energy levels and it will give your body's immunity boost.

I usually do not work out when a cold is in its beginning stages, fever or no fever. I don't see the sense or point in forcing your body into a stressful situation --exercise IS a stress upon the body-- when it is telling you it needs rest.

Take the week off. You'll feel tons better. And it's no sin.

Hi,from everything i've read it is ok to workout if the illness is from the neck up say something like a head cold or bad allergies,now from the neck down is a whole different thing though,when you continue to workout with an illness that is below the neck ,your chest cold,your taking a chance on having the virus that's already attacking your lungs being spread to say your heart for example due to the increase in circulation of your blood when you workout . I am not sure if i am explaining this right because i am not a doctor but i am sure of the principle behind what i am trying to say,i have chronic health issues and have had to ask doctors and read up alot on the subject in order to help myself to stay as heathy as i can. So please just rest your body will thank you for it !!And by the way i love your saying ,go hard or go home !!

Thanks ladies.went to the doc today and found out I have broncitis sp? I'm gonna take it easy until the meds start kicking in, which i should've done in the first place..hardheaded I guess..haha:7
