Working out in an apartment

We are living in a 1 bedroom apt right now until we find a house and I am having a hard time working out. In order to do anything I practically have to re-arrange the whole living room (that is workout in itself) How do you people who live in apts. do it? I go to the fitness center to use TM and elliptical, but I like to do weights at home. Any suggestions?

i swore i posted but i guess it poofed into thin air.

i store my barebell and plates under my bed and my dummies are on a weight rack next to my entertainment stand. i don't have a coffee table b/c we don't have ppl over so that clears up some room for me. the night before i get my barbells if i need them and quickly stow them away again when i am done. i am not sure how big your space is but if i had to guess mine would be a clear area of 10x7 to work. i have to modify for cardio but usually i have no issues with weights.

nancy LOL if had my camera working under my puter desk i store the high step and its riser along side a fabric box with my 5 medicine balls(2,5,8,10,12) and along side the desk there is a wire basket of all my little exercise doo-dads(bands,tubes,ankle weights, gliders, jump rope, ball pumps etc). i have to stability balls in front of the sliding glass door b/c sometimes when i am working out my dd will be on her puter and she sits on the other ball(which off topic is a great thing for kids with add/autism). my step is slid behind my weight rack.my mats are neatly rolled between a space between my enterainment stand and dd's computer desk. it doesn't look like i have as much stuff as i really do, i just creative with all the hidden space we have.

This is funny. I live in a tiny apartment too. Skipping the coffee table is the easiest thing. I have a shelf thing next to the entertainment center and all the dummbells go there. My step gets propped up at the side of the ent. center. I use the kids tote full of blocks as my high step. I keep my resistance tubes, HRM, measuring tape, etc. in a basket on top of the ent. center. DD exploded my stability ball but that was kept in my room.

Necessity is the mother of invention! :)
