Wilson Syndrome -- Anyone ever of this?

A friend of mine (5'4"), weighs 190 lbs has recently been diagnosed with Wilson Syndrome. (See link below) She eats 1200 calories a day and does cardio and weight training AND can't loose an ounce.

Any thoughts about this?

Sounds like a bunch of craziness to me!! Maybe she should consider going to an MD or someone with a scientific background.

IMO there is a place for natural perspectives to healing, and I think the medical community is taking a close look at the public interest in "all things natural". Some MD programs are even including some naturopathic type studies in their programs. I think the problem comes with people(naturopaths) who can now call themselves 'doctors' and basically mislead people into thinking that they possess a scientific background. I would be VERY hesitant to take the medical advice concerning the diagnosis of diseases from a naturopath.

Elln -

I concur that your friend should been seen by a real doctor. Honestly if she weight 190 pounds, does cardio and weights, eats 1200 calories a day and cannot lose weight I'd say she should probably eat more as her body probably thinks it's starving and is holding on to everything as tightly as it can.

Oh, definitely! I just trust someone who can pretty much take apart my body and put it back together a bit more than some guy who took a correspondence course.
