who just does Cathe's workouts?

I have 19 or her DVD's so far. I also have all the TJ workouts and didn't think anything would make me leave them.....but here I am.

I like the rotations and see that Cathe often adds in running or some other form of cardio. My questions is: who just does her workouts...no running...no anything else? I'm wondering if you can get good results this way. I'd love to get an at home spinning bike but they're pricey and aren't fitting into the budget at the moment. Who adds in other workouts along with or to supplement Cathe? I just don't see anything that compares to her weight training OR cardio. Any thoughts?

I pretty much do all Cathe. I like to THINK that I also jog sometimes, but I'll have to see it to believe it. I really kinda hate jogging. So, I've done all Cathe (cardio, weights, circuits) and have had wonderful results. The kind that make it actually FUN to go into the dresssing room at the store and try on clothes.

I can't afford other exercise equipment, and I don't want to pay to use a gym, either. So if I rarely jog, then all that's left is videos.

And here's another plus about Cathe: She pushes me WAY harder than I'd ever push myself running, or on the elliptical, or stairmaster, etc. I cheat myself "on my own". With Cathe, I push myself. Same with strength training. I've done it in the gym, and basically just do traditional sets and reps (3 sets of 12, increase weight as I get stronger)...well, again Cathe has bigger and better ideas for developing those muscles! I'm too lazy to do that without a video in front of me!

I used to do only Cathe and I had good results. I have added some other things in to keep it interesting. Taekwondo classes, cycling in the summer, yoga for flexibility. I do the Nordic Track once a week for something easier on my bad knee and I do Turbo Jam for a quick workout that's fun. I would have to say...the Nordic Track and cycling are a more challenging cardio workout. Nothing beats Taekwondo for fun and challenge...but I don't get as good of a workout as Cathe, because there's more rest in between exercise.

Variety is the spice of life! I doubt very much that even Cathe does strictly "Cathe" workouts - if you know what I mean. Even though, all her workouts would technically be "Cathe" workouts, wouldn't they?

If being "pushed" on the cardio equipment, or while jogging or something, is your problem - I was turned on to Cardio Coach by other posters on this site and it's the ONLY thing that can get me through the Nordic Track for 40 minutes.

Now that I think about it, I have been doing only Cathe for the last few months. I have over 100 videos/dvds, but lately every time I go to my collection I look and think about doing someone else but always end up picking Cathe.
I can't help it! Almost all the videos I have are considered advanced (CIA, Mindy, Christi, etc) but none of them make me feel as good as a Cathe workout. I'm sure I'll get burned out and then it will be nice to have those others for back-up. I have a great treadmill too, but it's been collecting dust.

Peace!

I do mainly Cathe, I do do the treadmill and eliptical and recumberant bike for cardio. I do it for variety and when i am not into thinking.
Step requires thought.

For home-ex I do almost 100% Cathe. I have a few of Mindy Mylrea's DVDs and find myself reaching only for one on even a sporadic basis (Interval Express; I also own Awesome Intervals, Cardio Toolbox, Kick-Butt Boot Camp and All About Abs). And recently I bought "Barry's Boot Camp" and found myself thinking "Not so much" when I previewed it; will probably give that one to one of my local friends.

However, at least 50% of my workout training is aquatic, and there I rule. Sorry to put it in those arrogant terms, but it's true. And I find the change-up in reduced impact coupled with increased resistance around the body, not to mention the variety with aqua-jogger training, to be a necessary complement to Cathe. Also, every now and then I'm able to squirt in a lunchtime power walk. That's it.

There is such a variety of Cathe's workouts that I never get bored. I do however, add treadmill for some cardio days and add weight training from the Smith Machine for added help when I feel the need.

Add me to this list. Right now, with training for a half marathon, I'm doing my schedules weekly runs, but all my weight work and all my in-betwee-run-cardios are Cathe. I've done ALL Cathe for a few months, when first losing my weight (over 40 lbs) and had AWESOME success!

Like Donna said, she likes Cardio Coach. I haven't used CC at all, but I do so LOVE iTrain workouts. They are another level of pushing yourself on the machines!

I lost a lot of weight with Cathe and WW (after doing mostly the Firm, Karen Voight, and Kathy Smith). After a few years, I started to get a little burned out though and now LOVE my variety....all my Cathe's, Amy Bento, some CIA's, a couple of Bosu workouts, some Tracey Staehle workouts, the TLT's, a little yoga, and a few others have rejuvinated my workouts. Changing things up keeps me challenged and I KNOW I would SEE more results with better eating choices. I just want to keep moving and challenging my mind and body as long as I can! I think cross training in some way is very beneficial to the mind and the body, but if you are happy right now with Cathe only and seeing the results you want to see, I say, why mess with a good thing. You can always branch out at a later time if need be.
