When to Attempt Freestyle Training?

All this talk about freestyle training has me wondering something. Should lifting heavy on legs 1-2 times per week something that should be attempted prior to freestyle training? It seems that heavy lifting does work for some people. Should freestyle be started if that is not successful or if you become too bulky? I hope this makes sense!

No, ma'am, don't do heavy weights with Freestyle training. I tried that about 4 years ago and it did not work AT ALL, in fact it just made me tired! This time around I ditched the heavy weights and it's working like a charm. I do very little weighted work now. If anything, I'll do whatever lower body weight work there is in a DVD like High Step Challengs, Boot Camp, etc. to get a cardio mix in there, too.
Just Do It! :)

I add 200 walking lunges to my cardio in the morning. I walk around the track at the local high school. I go around twice, go up the bleachers 10 times then do the track 5-6 more times and then the lunges. I am really noticing my legs slim down. :D

Thanks for the replies. I meant trying a different rotation such as the GS or PS series, before doing more of a freestyle rotation...Should one try to build strength working legs only 1-2 times per week, THEN begin a freestyle rotation (legs 5-6 times per week with light or no weights)?

Sorry if I wasn't clear!

I would jump right in! After reading the book, I found that squats with heavy weights really isn't doing me much good. I am using MUCH lighter weights, sometimes none at all, and am really happy with the results so far!
