I'm just wondering if there is a better time of day to work out. I work out in the PM after kids go to bed, but I'm wondering if early morning workouts are better. Any thoughts or suggestions?
I'm not a morning person at all, so it takes everything I have to just get out of bed and get to work. I run in the afternoons and do Cathe's workouts in the evening around 6pm or 7pm for 1-2 hours. I know that is too late in the evening, but it's really the only time I have and until I get a job that doesn't require me to be there at 7am (I'm in the military), then the morning workouts are out for me
I workout at 4:30 am right now. It's super early, but I'm so dang tired by the time I get home. Hmm . . maybe it's because I'm up at 4:30 in the morning . . . LOL!
I workout at 5:30 am in the morning, which is hard to do, it takes a lot of modivation to get out of bed. I used to work out in the afternoon, but that just can't fit into my schedule anymore.
I do a few things to make sure to stay motivated. I make myself a rotation calander so I can't lay in bed and "think" of which workout to do, because we all know that "thinking" isn't going to happen while laying in bed at 5:30. I also set myself up the night before. After my kids go to bed, I set up all the equipment that I'll need for the next day's workout. This way there is no excuses to staying in bed. Other than it is early and I am comfortable.
Hi Sheryl! You will here many different studies claiming that a certain time of day is better than another. Many of these studies contradict one another too. So that leaves the decision to us to find out ;-)
I say the best time is when YOU have the time to give it your all!
