Hi Everyone,
I am looking for a little advice here and prehaps I am over reacting to.
We are leaving for Cuba this Thursday. My mom is taking care of my daugther (for the most part). She is going to my parents house on Friday and not comming home until Monday. It was all working out great b/c she loves going out there and I knew she would be well taken care of.My mom lives about 1 1/2 hours drive from me.
Anyway,my daughter is in her first year of gymnastics. She has a compeition comming up on May21-23.Thats fine.I just got a phone call saying that there is a compeition THIS weekend in our town. Its a good idea for her to go b/c it gives her some idea of what to expect the end of May.There will also be judges there who want to see how well the girls are doing. Now I don't know what to do.
It was short notice. My in-laws are also going to be out of the province so they can't go either. My mom can't take her b/c she is going to be working and my father will be watching her.(my brother lives next door,he as 3 small kids so they just play the whole weekend)
I asked the person who phoned if it was a must that she be there. First there was a pauce then she said that they never "have" to be there but it is a good way of getting use to whats to come.
Im not cancelling my trip and losing $4000.I can't ask the babysitter to cart my child around all weekend and then attend the compeition and the thoughts of her competing and me not being there is heart wrenching.A child always needs to see their parents in the crowd when they are competing.
Should I just shrung it off and say oh well, bad timing? I really don't know what else there is for me to do.I will be thinking about this until it gets sorted out.
Any advice???/
Thanks,
Lori
