What is a good stationary bike?

I am going to purchase a stationary bike pretty soon and wonder what is a good kind. I want one that isn't majorly expensive though not cheap! what kind of features are the best to have? Any information would be appreciated.

I have a Schwinn Airdyne and I like it fine. It's mechanical, so there's no danger of a bunch of computerized crap going bad. They use these a lot in gyms and hospitals, and they go on forever. The resistance is increased when you pedal faster. The front wheel is like a big fan, so you stay cool, too. Very bare bones, but I like it.

How does stationary bike compared to eclipes machine? I have knees problem. I am thinking about getting similar running aerobic workout without hurting my knees even in the treadmill. How intensity (heart rate) these machines compared to treadmill?

I have the same bike as Honeybunch. (Hey, honeybunch, nice to see you again!)

I like it for the same reasons. However, mine does have a little computerized display thing that tells me miles, calories burned, "rate", time, stuff like that. It takes 2 C cell batteries. I use it a couple of times a month.

Yeah, I have the display thing,too, the only computerized part of the bike.
