to clean the stove top? I have tried everything to get my stove clean around the burners and the burner covers and I cant get that crap that builds up on there off. I know there is something that will help it just is finding the right product. Just like my toilet bowl. I had well water and nothing would get that lime and build up out around the ring and I found lysol power and it was a new bowl again. sorry, it just drives me nuts when I cant get something clean. any suggestions for the stove top? thanks!
 
Hey...I hear you. I just bought new drip pans for my stove becuase the old ones wouldn't come clean - I hate it. I use a fine weave of steel wool to get around the drip pan openings, but I change the pans out themselves at least once a year. Other than that, I put them thru the dishwasher. I think it helps. ;)

Hi Laura,

I am assuming you have sealed burners from your description. Anyway,when we purchased our stove we asked the salesman the same thing and he told us to use the fume free oven cleaner which requires no heat. Because the top of your stove is enameled liked the inside. Let me tell you it works great. Just spray it on, wait 2 hours, then come back and just wipe all that stuff away. HTH!

I sometimes have had to resort to a razor blade, at least on the flatter parts, and just scratch it off. If you are careful you won't scratch the enamel, just flick off the black stuff.

But maybe this is a last resort type of thing.

Have you tried the Magic Eraser by Mr. Clean? I have used it on my stove top as well as the handle on my fridge, it is the only thing I have found to work.
 
LOL, my MOM! Hate to admit, but she shows up once in awhile, notices my stove top and gets out the Brillo pads. That happened just this past weekend. However, I was inspired to go on and clean the oven and the cabinets afterward. Good luck. I think its best to just move after a period of time. :p }(
