Weights in Cathe's Workouts

Hi, I have been lifting weights for 20 plus years and only recently am I able to exceed Cathe's weights, with one exception. I have had a herniated disc repaired in my lower back and I am not able to do more than 35 lb squats or lunges. Plie squats I exceed her weight but for they dont put as much pressure on my lower back as the regular squats do. My personal favorite accomplishment is my shoulders. I now after 2 years of hard work exceed her weight and even add an extra set occasionally. One thing I have found is that it takes time and effort to build muscle...like years, but its worth it, at least to me.

Suzanne- I have to agree with you. My arms did feel like they were getting bigger when first introducing them to upper body workouts. Now it seems like they are just toning up so I guess it is still going to take time before I get that "cut" look. LOL
