Has anyone ever used a VersaClimber? It has got to be the most amazing piece of equipment around! I went to a friend's gym with her to use it and wow...sweatfest! My husband refuses to do Cathe cardio with me but I think this would be right up his alley. I looked them up on line and they are $2000.00!!!! Guess he'll be working some extra side jobs!!!

Hello,

I have never heard of this. Is it like a stair climber? Do you have a web site with pictures, so we could take a look?

I've had a Versaclimber on my 'maybe someday' list of equipment to get for quite a while.

It looks like it would be one of the most thorough (and tough) machine workouts out there. there is an article about it in the latest issue of FitnessRX (or could be Oxygen or Muscle and Fitness Hers). The price is definitely an obstacle, though. And, unlike other companies, they don't offer deals or a payment plan. (With some companies, like Soloflex for example, once you send for information, they start sending you different deals, like free shipping, or $100 off, or both, with the deals getting better the longer you wait).

Yes, they have one in my gym and it's very popular. My husband is so happy that we can't fit one in the basement, it is too tall!

Has anyone tried it? It looks like a version of a stairstepper or something. It also looks pretty basic so I'm wondering why it's so expensive.

And why they NEVER offer any deals or discounts (at least not when I've been more actively checking them out).

It better be REALLY sturdy!

Or maybe it's because it's the exercise equipment of choice of Hollywood stars (the Versaclimber info includes a list of Hollywood types who use it).

The VersaClimber is not new. I first worked out on one in 1988, when I was being trained by a personal trainer. My trainer would put me through excruciating workouts on that thing. I wouldn't pay $2,000 to own one. When I pass a VC in the gym, I shudder. I guess I have PTSD from all of those hellish workouts back in the day ;-)

Kathryn, it IS very thorough. I get it on it for 3 minutes *full-speed ahead* and I am sweating more than any cardio DVD I've ever done. I wait 3 min. to recover and go again for another 3. I don't ever like cardio machines but this thing is awesome. I so wish I could justify the expense.
