update on Petie my Lab

Well yesterday as you all know I had to admit Petie into the Vet Hospital for a few days because he wasn't keeping anything down. The vet called this morning to say that he is keeping his food down but he is not out of the woods yet. I won't find out until Monday about his blood work. Tomorrow is his birthday. He will be 3 and we won't be able to see him but we can bring him home Saturday if all goes well. This is really bumming me out because here im supposed to be excited because the Body Blast update was posted. I couldn't even sleep last night because of the anxiety I have over this. Petie always sleeps in bed with my younger son but when he went to bed last night he just broke down and cried. I never heard him cry like this. It really broke my heart;(. Well I let you know Monday. Thanks for all your prayers:)

Barbara:

I've been checking in here to find out about Petie as much as the new workouts, and when I saw your post today I was afraid of the worst, but it sounds like things are looking up! I'm so relieved for you!

I have five dogs and they are all like my children. They are 12, 10, 10, 7, and 5, so we're in for some major old dog stuff soon and I'm often reminded of how precious they are. They are so stoic and courageous when they're sick and that makes it all the more heart rending. Many warm and loving wags from our house to yours, and keep us posted.

Barbara,

I, too, keep checking in to see how Petie is doing. I think about you guys quite often and want you to know I say a prayer for Petie every night:)

I really feel your pain. I too pray that petie will be back home, in his warm comfy bed with your son. They won't let you visit him? I would insist that you be able to at least let him hear your voice and touch him if only for a few minutes. Maybe they don't want him excited, but still I'm sure if he heard you that might bring him some comfort. I pray for a speedy recovery for your sweetie petie. (((hugs)))

It is so hard with the kids. They don't understand much beyond the hurt. You have been in my thoughts all week, and I know that God truly cares for all creatures, so I have not felt one bit silly praying for His intervention. These pets can bless our lives so much, and I sincerely pray that Petie will continue to be a part of yours. Keep us posted!

One more thought, when my sister's dog Sara was in the hospital they allowed her to bring in a blanket from home. They were astounded at how well it perked her up to have the smell of "home" in her little kennal. You might ask and see if your son's blanket can come in. The hospital made no promises that they wouldn't lose it, but my sister didn't care, and once they saw how it comforted Sara, they were very careful to keep track of it.
