Ummm I must be getting older because...........

I must say (again) I love my new washer(front load) especially when it only uses 14 gallonsof water compared to around 40-45 gallons for myold top load!!!!!!!!!! And the dryer takes lesstime because the clothes are not as wet from the washer. Forthose fo you w/a Dyson, can you get under beds and furniture w/it? That was always my issue w/ an upright. Thanks for sharing:) Kay

I can't speak for all Dyson models. I have the animal. It has a hose with some really great attachments. Perfect for under beds, furniture, and drapes.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Dyson:D

I had wanted a Dyson; DH said that they're overrated. Okay, here's my vacuum story: DH bought the Consumer Reports Top-Rated vacuum cleaner (a Kenmore). It broke within a ridiculously short period of time, so I complained about it and he said he'd take care of it ...

He bought a second vacuum -- the exact same make and model as the broken one. Guess what? It broke within a shockingly short period of time, too! So now we have two identical broken vacuum cleaners.

I want a Dyson.

Are your sure it's not just the belt? I had a friend that whet through something like six vacuum cleaners before someone told her that the belt sometimes needs replacing.

On the other hand I have another friend who loves her Dyson.

I have an Orek that I got at a yard sale for $1.00. Works great all it needed was a belt!

Could be the belt ...

Gabrielle, since I'm not mechanically inclined, I don't know what's wrong with them. Both broke within months of purchase. I'll ask DH to take a look at it and see.

Thanks for the tip!

Now if you could solve my dishwasher problem ....

Dude - at least you're looking at appliances! I got that way over a POT last year. I bought a georgeous Flame colored Le Creuset dutch oven and I keep it one the stove. I've stared it at and went into the kitchen just to look at it! I too, just got a new vaccuum (old school style) and was very excited - and I HATE to clean, but I vaccuumed everything in sight!

:D :D :D
If I had Le Creuset products, I would sit and stare at them too!!! *drool*
:D :D :D

YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

About a month ago, I found a blue Staub 5 qt French oven tucked behind some glassware at TJ Maxx...FOR HALF PRICE!!! I walked around the store with it clutched to my chest muttering "mine, mine, mine".

Discount French cookware is like crack to me.

Hey, I'm excited about my cookwear too! I have nice, shiny stainless steel Calphalon pots ... after years of cooking with cheap odds and ends.

Actually, I like my pots much more than my appliances, because they actually do what they're supposed to do ... which is more than I can say about my dishwasher, oven, and vacuum cleaners!

But I continue to tell DH that I don't think an appliance makes a very good gift. Just in case he wants to give me a blender or something.

LOL.... This post is too funny. I was exited to get my first hand mixer ever for Christmas this year!

Who needs a life when you have appliances!!!! I have the front loader Neptune - LOVE IT..used to go through a vacuum a year until I invested in an Electrolux - I could ride it to work, get it tuned every year or so, its a dream....have a Bosch mixer (can make several loaves of bread at once, batches of cookies..tons of things) with its uber Blender, the Kuehn Rikon Pressure cooker, by far my favorite gadget...um....the veggie chopper - the pampered chef one broke and I got another one 2/3 cheaper that works just as well!!!

Appliances and workout videos and forums....this IS my life!

I knew I was getting older when I was SOOOOO excited to get a new set of Calphalon pots & pans for my birthday. And a beautiful blue enameled Dutch oven for Christmas this year...

I love the Roomba!

Okay girls, because of you Roomba lovers, I took the plunge and bought one. I have to say, it's great! And I would never have even considered buying one if it hadn't been for the posts on this forum, so thank you all!

It's so nice to have a new "toy" that cleans up around the house and then puts itself away! We love it -- thanks!

And as an added bonus, I bought a small flame-colored Le Creuset dutch oven, which is in the oven now ... I hope it's easy to clean! Thanks for all of the advice. Now I just need to get up the nerve (and money) for the Dyson... :D

Well, now I am intriqued about the Roomba! I have hardwood floors...can it get over the floor moulding in between rooms? How does it do with cat hair? Or with cats...I'm afraid it'll terrify my kitties, Ace and Murphy.

I would think that the molding between floors wouldn't be a problem, and I have a terrier that sheds like crazy and it picks up all of it , it's great!
