Tried Imax 2 post Vegas ~ *dies*

I'm not surprised that I feel like croaking my first week back after 4 days, 3 nights in Vegas, but I am fascinated.

Normally, I exercise, eat well, eat frequent small meals, take supplements and get plenty of sleep.

All of this flew right out the window while on vacation. :+ I knew it would and had a great time anyway, but I can't help but wonder what my body is thinking. As in, "You can't do a complete 180 on me and expect me NOT to notice."

I took a couple of days to recover and then started back on track with PUB on Sunday, and 30 minutes of Imax 2 today. You'd think this was my first time exercising. I have serious DOMS (which I never had before with the Pyramids), going easy on the poundage didn't help AT ALL, and Imax nearly killed me. I had just finished a S&H rotation, felt super strong, and scheduled a couple of light workout days before getting on the plane. Now I shudder at the thought of PLB tomorrow.

Was it the erratic, crappy meals? The serious lack of sleep? The constant walking? The missing vitamins? All 4?

Anywho, I like to ponder these things. I knew I'd pay for it, but I find my body's reaction really interesting. Anyone else notice stuff like this, like when you aren't sleeping enough or eating just right?

Did you drink any alcohol while in Vegas? I find that even just a drink or two can make me totally dehydrated and it really messes up my endurance/strength/stamina for the following couple of days.... Traveling in general seems to wear me out - and yes, combine that with a few unhealthy meals and a lack of sleep and I think all our bodies would be screaming at us! :)

Your body will also scream at you when you are so regimented and never allow yourself to kick back, have a good time, and experience change. I have found that even after vacations where I ate well, slept well, and even squeezed in workouts there was still a bit of adjustment...maybe it had to do with getting back on a schedule. Either way, you needed a vacation...now you need to get back to work ;-)

I don't drink, so alcohol wasn't a factor. But dehydration is a good point ~ I didn't drink or eat anything like I normally do, and Vegas was super hot.

I found the DOMS noteworthy. I can't help but wonder if my diet and/or supplementation (or something I do routinely) helps keep that at bay, and I now lack whatever it is to a degree because of the trip and its festivities.

Not that I mind. It was fun. }(
