I had a little girl 2 years ago and ended up gaining 50 pounds do to bed rest and poor eatting.

I have lost 35-40 pounds since then but am having a horrible time getting off the last 10 pounds.

I am wondering if you have any work-out advice and diet advice? I would really appreciate it.

Hi,

I'm not Cathe, but all I can say is weight training, weight training, weight training. I solely use Cathe's videos. I had about 10 pounds that appeared wouldn't budge. As soon as I focused on weights as much as cardio, the last 10 shed from my body without any change in diet. Weights are the key!

Diet is really the key to weight loss (although weight training is just as important as cardio when it comes to exercise, diet is what's really effective).

Personally I do Atkins & to me it's a miracle diet (BTW have been on the diet for more than 2 years now, just had a cholestoral check & the levels were perfect!). However different things work for different people. There are a slew of threads on the open discussion board re. diets that you might want to check out.

I want to congratulate you on your weight loss- that is something to be proud of! I would try to eat clean as much as possible and workout when you can. good luck!

Congratulations on your weight loss!! I would suggest clean eating as well as circuit workouts IMO. Whenever I put on a few pounds it seems that circuit workouts usually do the trick. Of course I cut out the junk too:9 . Everyone is different though and you need to find a mix that will work for you!! Switch up your workouts..try something different.

Aila:)

Congratulations on your loss! Losing weight is 90% diet and 10% exercise, IMO. I've found that eating small meals every 2.5 to 3 hours, watching carbs, sticking to lean protein, veggies and fruits has worked for me.

I also agree that focusing on weight lifting and interval training is the most effective way to get rid of body fat.

Good luck!

Hi Maximus,

I was wondering...when you began Atkins two years ago, did you eat fewer carbs than you do now? I guess I am wondering how many carbs you need to fuel intense workouts. By the way, I can take your answer on the " Open board"...thanks~dmd
