This workout is perfect for my choreographiclly challenged 53 yr old mother. I have it in slow motion right now and she is actually starting to figure things out. She still gets frusterated but at least I have her trying it b/c she has mental problems so she has a really hard time tracking the movements! Its been like pulling teeth to get her to do anything. So a big thank you from myself and my mother.

Oh she also has separated ab syndrome. She can't do a crunch or sit up. What would be good to get her going so she can work her core? She has a huge crevace from her xiphoid process to her inter pubic joint! It is deep too! When I was little I use to put my head on her stomach when she'd tickle my back and she was really squishy and I would play like it was a canyon! lol. Sorry TMI.

Hi Reece Out! Congratulations to your mom. Way to go! As far as her abs, if she has gotten the clearance from the doctor, then she can do a basic crunch with her legs up on a chair (to support her weight and keep her back stable). Have her work her way up to 3 sets of 15 crunches. Please give her my best and thanks to you for encouraging her and setting such a fine example:)

Thank you Cathe! She had her last child (me) in 1985. Her dr. said there was nothing she could do about it so she never has! I'll have her do what you suggested. I'm so glad you know this stuff. lol.
As for encouraging her... She gets reminded every morning at 6 am b4 work to get herself up and moving for at least 20 minutes. Most of the time she just glares at me. I at least make her stretch or do one bodypart with Slow&Heavy.

Thanx again!

I also want to thank you, Cathe, for Basic Step. I have been doing it for the last couple of weeks and it really has helped me getting back into fitness. I especially like that in these workouts (BS/BF/UB/LB/Abs) you seem to move slower and I have an easier time synchronizing my movements with yours. The abs sections is awesome. It made me strong enough to hold planks!:D ...and I didn't even use the ball! (I'll get it as soon as I can.) This DVD is great. So versatile and easy to fit into a bussy schedule. At first I thought it was going to be too easy, but I was wrong. It can be easily modified also. I just love it! Thanks!
