Has anyone used this? I just got put on it by my derm and am just curious about the results for acne and I would think anti-aging also. did it make your skin look alot better? I also have scars I am hoping it will help with also.

I LOVE Tazorac!!!! I haven't had a deep cystic blemish since I started it! I still have some blackheads but very rarely any actual *pimples* My skin texture is sooo much smoother. It's helped even out some of my brown spots from sun damage. I don't have any scar issues, but with everything else it has improved, I would think it could help smooth the area. It took about 8 weeks of consistent daily use to see results, but once I did! Wow! I kick myself whenever I get lazy and skip it for a few days!
Fortunately because I DO have acne, my insurance covered it, but I would willingly pay the $200 a tube out of pocket if I had to. A tube lasts forever!
I hope your experience is as positive as mine!!!
(oh, no negative reactions or side effects, but I have very thick Irish skin and I swear I could put battery acid on it and not burn! My DD does get some dryness and uses it every other day in the winter, but everyday in the summer)

Great! Thanks for the info. what kind of facial wash and moisturizer do you use with it?

I was prescribed Tazorac about a year ago, but never used it consistently enough to see results.

Becky - after reading your post, I'm going to start it up again tonight. Just wondering if you use it morning or night and if you put anything else on your skin besides the Tazorac.

TIA!

Before I answer your questions...another positive...when I DO get that rare blemish, I don't have the lingering red spot/scar like I used to.

Okay, no I am NOT a salesman for Tazorac and I don't claim that you will have peaches and cream flawless skin (but you sure might!) Just saying that my results are the best I've ever had with ANY cream, RX or OTC and I've tried a lot!!!

In the morning I usually use a salicylic acid wash...whatever is on sale. About once a week I might use my DD's 10% benzoyl peroxide RX wash
I have weaned myself odd alcohol based toners, but I always use witch hazel...I just love the *toner* feel. No AM moisturizer, just Neutrogena Age Shield SPF 90 sunscreen.
PM I use the same cleanser and witch hazel, a couple times a week, I use a scrub. Then I put the Tazorac on...very occasionally use a light weight serum vs. a moisturizing cream. My derm has said if I don't feel dry, I don't need the moisturizer, not everyone does.
I have on occasion (in the winter when there is less sun exposure) used the Tazorac AM and PM for a few days, but not long term. Although, my skin NEVER dries out or peels so I probably could without negative effects. My derm says some day (like when I'm 60!) I will have amazing skin and look 40! If he says so...I hold out hope! LOL!

Thanks, Becky, for the detailed response. I'm 40 and starting to see the fine lines and wrinkles popping out from nowhere, so I'm all about the anti-aging stuff, BUT I still get the monthly breakout that drives me insane. I'm definitely giving the Tazorac a second try, and (fingers crossed) hopefully my results will come close to yours!!!
