Sunscreen

Morning,

I have never used sunscreen before; I ordered Mary Kay Time Wise Day Solution Sunscreen SPF 25. Now, I’m wondering if I should have started with a lower dose (sort of speak) SPF 15.

i go between 35-50 myself. it depends on where i am going. if i am goign to my pool here i have to have a high spf b/c there is no shade and sun beats down over the pool whereas at my mother in law's house there is plenty of trees providing shade so i do use as high spf.

Since I love int the desert Southwest, I go high. I get a lot of exposure I didn't ever realize was exposure just going in and out my door. I use a Neutrogena 45. I alos use Lubriderm body lotion with a 25 built in after a bath or shower. Sunscreen is an important daily ritual all year round!

Also remember, there's a difference between sunscreen & sunblock. Sunscreen does not block all UV rays, sunblock (obviously) does. Sunblock contains zinc, sunscreen does not. Usually anything over a 30 is a sunblock, anything under 30 is a sunscreen & must be re-applied frequently, whereas sunblock does not have to be reapplied unless you go swimming or sweat it all off.

Man, I have spent way too much time in my dermatologist's office. :p

no, the higher the better. Even though they say anything over 15 is not much of a difference, I still feel protected is it says 65! LOL

I'm with Bobbi. Love that Lubriderm moisturizer with the spf stuff right in it right after a shower. For my face, my make-up base has spf stuff in it. I agree that you should always go as high as you can when outdoors. I don't agree with Dr. Denese, though, who says you should wear sunscreen indoors. I think that's overkill.
