Summer check in Wednesday, 8/17/05

Good Wednesday Morning All!

I didn't see a check in for yesterday. I wasn't on too much. Took the boys over my cousins to go swimming and hang out. I can't believe school is starting in 2 weeks! And my baby is going to kindergarten! :( When my 1st son went I did ok because I still had the little one. But this is it. It's very unnerving. I am so glad for the little bit of freedom and "my own time" I'll be getting, but on the other hand it's very sad. It's like a turning point you kind of wish you didn't have to take. Oh well.

I'm doing great w/ freestyle so far. I feel awesome. Today I am doing some lower body, and the step and upper body/abs segments of Power Max. That should be good for today. It's a little time consuming so far. So I have to come up with some kind of schedule for myself using my Cathe w/o's to fit my schedule.

What are you all up to today? Where is Cleo?

Hey Kali--did you dump the aug 05 rotation for freestyle???

Cleo and Jess--Hope you are both settled into your new places now and life is getting back to "normal"...what is "NORMAL" anyway!? :p

I have stopped doing the aug 04 rotation for now. Sorry Jes, if you are doing it. I quit it because I have been given a different rotation to do that may help me shed these prego pounds more effectively. I am also trying the calorie stagger plan. I hope this works for me. Keep your fingers crossed ladies! I sooo want to get rid of this extra weight!!!!

Yesterday I did Step Blast and today I'm doing ME and a CTX cardio.

I had a busy weekend. On friday night DH and I went out dancing!:) On saturday I went out with Joey and my mom and DH painted our bathroom and on sunday DH, Joey and I went swimming at DH's cousin's house. Joey's first time in a pool..he loved it and looked sooo very cute! :+

Yes I dumped the rotation for Freestyle. I'll make up a rotation using all my Cathe workouts.

I miss Cleo and Jess. I know they're busy but I still miss them.
And Marie too!

That is great you're giving it a try Wendy! You will be amazed at your results. I'm telling you. For me to be able to LOSE 2 pounds on vacation is nothing short of a freaking miracle! Keep it up and you'll be shedding those pounds in no time!!!:7 And of course I will keep you motivated! LOL

We were swimming at a cousin's yesterday too! Bet Joey just loved it!

Hey Kali.

Have fun with freestyle!

I just did 150 crunches. I needed to do abs today and didn't feel like following a vid so I just did it on my own...25 regular crunches, 25 reverse crunches, 50 obliques alternating and 50 bicycles. I did enough to feel the BURN and that's what counts, right? }( :7 I will do the rest of my work out in a little while. Joey's not up quite yet. After I get him up, feed him and hang out with him a bit I will get to the rest of my work out.

The humidity has dropped so I think I will get Joey and myself out for a walk today. :+ FINALLY! I have been waiting most of the summer to be able to walk again! x(

I didn't see a thread yesterday either. Kali I am happy the freestyle is working for you.
Wendy-what does your workout rotation look like that you are doing? Sarah is wonderful with the calorie help and zigzagging. I am just trying to maintain my weight but I love to hear what people sre doing to lose.
I am still on the august 05 rotation.

Hello ladies. I am finally done. Only took me an hour and 15 minutes today. I couldn't get motivated today. Thank goodness I'm done.
Now we're off to buy sneakers and backpacks!

Hi Terri. How's the rotation going? Sarah helped me with the zigzagging and it's amazing how it works. Although I have to admit I eat nowhere near the amount of calories I'm supposed to.

How are you doing Wendy? I like doing my own thing with crunches sometimes too! It seems so much quicker and you really feel it! I did the abs from BodyMax so I'm feeling that I'll tell you.

Good Afternoon Ladies.

Took Joey out for that walk this morning. It was nice. :) I wore my hrm for the fun of it. These are the results after a 28 min walk: avg hr 106 peak hr 122 cals burned 182. Had I been out w/o Joey I could have high-tailed it for better results but I wasn't really out there for a work out. Whatever I burned is just a bonus for me! :+

I haven't gotten to my real w/o yet today. Joey was cranky before. I finally got him to snooze and now he has to eat at 1pm so I am hoping to hit it right after that.

Terri---this is the rotation I am doing at Sarah's suggestion:

Day # 1 full body weights and 20-30 mins cardio
Day # 2 circuit w/o and 20-30 mins cardio
Day # 3 40-60 minutes cardio only
Day # 4 full body weights and 20-30 mins cardio
Day # 5 circuit w/o and 20-30 mins cardio
Day # 6 40-60 mins cardio only
Day # 7 REST
Abs to be done 5-6 times per week

Kali---I started my zigzagging with my TDEE day yesterday because I realized for the most part I have not been eating ENOUGH! Well, I too had a tough time getting all of those cals in w/o resorting to cookies! lol I was about 100 short when all was said and done. Not bad though. Today will be much easier to get them in as I am doing the 30% deficit now for 3 days. The f-c-p ratios can be hard to get right as well. You really have to "test" out how what you are going to eat fits in before you eat it in order to keep those ratios on the right track.

Hi all

I'm slowly getting back into the groove of things. This week I'm just running for my workouts and maybe some freestyling - I have interviews and law review write on to deal with. Next week classes start and I will have a regular schedule and routine & be able to do a rotation (so don't worry Wendy, I only did 2 days of Aug 04 so far)

So how does this calorie staggering work? if it's working for you guys, I definitely need to try it!

Kali, is kindergarten in your school district all day or just half a day? Classes started this week for schools around here in St. Louis and Saturday and Sunday we had some bad thunderstorms that knocked out power lines. Luckily ours was only off for 4 hours on Saturday but some schools had to postpone the first day until they had electricity. I think all the schools are now up & running.

I bought a mp3 player with an armband so I don't have to get my discman fixed just for it to fall and break again when I'm on the treadmill.

Hi, ladies:

I am on my usual weekly travels and have not worked out yet today. Last night I was sick as a dog (not sure what's up with that), so I did nothing but sleep! I bought some Janis Saffell workouts for traveling (no way am I risking any more Cathe losses!) so I am hoping to do the "Brand New Butt" workout later...

Ok I am back to check-in after my workout. I did step Blast then the 5 itervals from imax1. Later I plan on PLB and abs.

Kali-yep I am still going with Aug05 rotation. Sounds like you are really enjoying the freestyle!

Wendy-Thanks for posting that rotation. How are you liking it? Good luck on that and your new way of eating. With Sarah helping you can't go wrong!

Marie-Let us know how that workout is. I don't blame you for not wanting to lose anymore cathe dvd's!

Jessica-What kind of mp3 player did you get?
